    [ Experiment 8.04] Laponite
    After 3 days, the mixture of laponite powder and water is different from typical liquids which always adopt horizontal surfaces: it has transformed into a gel. When placed in a special beam of light called polarized light, photoelastic material changes colour when compressed or vibrated. The photoelasticity of laponite gel reflects its elasticity, which is a characteristic property of solids but not of liquids. A slightly viscous liquid injected into a laponite gel spreads according to certain shear planes. The gel appears to "break" like glass. Although mainly composed of liquid water, laponite gel has some of the properties of solids.

    Est-ce que cela veut dire que l'on peut utiliser la laponite pour rendre plus solide un béton de terre?

    Est-ce que cet essai est génial, les améliorations me disent que c'est là que vous êtes inyecté dans le gel ?
