I had also wondered why my grandmother planted squash in mounds, so I looked it up.. “The biggest reason for mounding is so the water drains away from the plant and its fruits inhibiting rot.”

Olive had the "zoomies" - so cute. 🐾🐾🐕 The garden is looking good. You and Austin have worked really hard & it shows. Another tip when planting tomatoes - crack an egg & put the whole thing into the bottom of the hole, it helps prevent blossom end rot. If you pull the bottom leaves off your tomato plants and plant them deeper they will have a stronger root system.

I have such limited space as well. What I did was made me a little onion bed in the ground since they are not bothered by much and all my lettuces and greens in bigger grow bags that freed up a lot of space in grow beds for more things I can preserve I have one bed of green beans now ❤️ y’all are doing amazing

Mexico Midget is a really good tiny tomato. Huge favorite with my family. We like Pink Girl Hybrid too. Putting the garden in, is a activity full of hope. 🙏 everyone's gardens do well.

Raised beds take alot more watering vs just tilling up a garden spot. You got some good land there so get a milk goat too. Goat milk don't separate like cows milk and good and fresh milk and goats are easy to keep.
Y'all have made so much more progress this year. Everything is so organized & the raised beds make it so much easier for planting & harvesting. Hope those lava rocks work for the slugs. I'm excited to see how your potatoes do this year. Miss Cindy is still in my prayers! Hugs!

Plant those long, leggy tomatoes deeper in the ground!
Bury up to 2/3 of the plant. It will grow a great root system and be a sturdier plant.
Being industrious is great for your health but also wonderful for the marriage. Hopefully you get a great crop.

The cattle panels work well for cucumbers too, and you can cut them with bolt cutters if they are too long.
