    Never seen a couple so happy and unhappy at the same time with their RV. A lot of time going over all the changes they have planned. Best of luck with that.

    VERY cool guys! One of the most functional Class C's I've seen. Pretty big departure from the giant MO, but I bet you will love the mobility! We're too old to be that mobile! LOL Can't wait to see the updates! 👍🏼

    We bought a 24' 2000 Tioga Class C last September. The ride home felt very unstable and it wandered on the road. Hubby did these upgrades: replaced the front steering dampener, added rear anti-swaybar, replaced 9 leaf rear springs with 10 leaf springs, installed front sumo-springs, installed new koni shocks, installed new adjustable camber bushings, replaced worn front anti-swaybar bushings and bought Michelin XPS rib tires. Now, she rides smooth and straight.

      Awesome! That's quiet the upgrade. Glad she's running smooth for you. - Liz

      Happy travels to both of you. My wife and I recently sold our 40 foot diesel pusher and bought a new Jayco Class C similar to yours. My concern for you is that you will be overweight with the scooter hanging, cargo and remodeling extra weight. All of those Mercedes diesel chassis’s can carry is 11030 lbs total. Get it weighed with tanks full, scooter hanging and set up as you are now. That will tell you how much additional weight that you can safely carry.

    • @EatSeeRV
      @EatSeeRV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it's on our list to do. It's extremely hard to stay underweight in a class c especially full timing it. - Liz

    Congratulations on your new home. Can't wait to see all your upgrades and your personal touches. We are looking for our first RV and we really want an older Class C too. We really love this floor plan too. Unfortunately, we are too old to be able to use the over the cab bed comfortably and safely. You have given us a few ideas though in changing out the couch area to make it work. It is very impressive that you have so much access with the slide in. We are so excited for you.

    It is fun and heart warming watching you two be so excited. Your excitement made me feel excited. As an aside, I wonder if the bed area had the ability to lower a bit if the extra space might make your bed feel more comfortable and less confined. Perhaps a hydraulic lift? You might not feel like you'd fall off. LOL Maybe you have already thought of this idea but anyway, best of luck.

    I'm very interested in the suspension upgrades you're going to do. We have a 2017 Thor Citation on the Sprinter chassis. It has too much side to side movement. And our cargo capacity sucks. I'm hoping an upgrade might help with that also. Looking forward to seeing what you do. Congratulations on your new rig.

    • @EatSeeRV
      @EatSeeRV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This floor plan is my favorite. Having long term vacations most my grown life, I’ve had 22’ to 42’. Only exception is the kitchen in in slideout. Keep check for leaks. I love rear bath. Most of the weight of the moho is over the actual the tire supports, instead of hanging in the back. Generally, I replace the faucets/sink plumbing, no matter what. New or used.
    I’m a real estate investor, too....and with a 400cc scooter! Fun! Glad I found you!

    • @thememorytraveler4978
      @thememorytraveler4978 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bought a Thor Freedom Elite-Class C Ford 450 chassis. It’s a starter moho, however, the floor plan is perfect for bringing the three elder, mentally disabled siblings that live with me. I can sleep over the cab & monitor the siblings. It works, however, I upgraded the septic completely in its underbelly-as it just wasn’t thought through.
      I like that you have windows on both sides. I put a fantastic fan in, but it needs a window for the personal view! Although, I put a coffee maker in my space - have room, since I’m single.
      The scooter is a Honda Majesty. My Shadow was a two steps a head of my comfort. My motorcycle license was my 50th year birthday present to me! I’m fabricating a really cool carrier for it. Cross your fingers! I put it in a trailer now & that’s not my favorite. As an ((older)) female, I’m trying to create freedom & independence, while attending my basic needs, as a caregiver, landlord etc. My office is MUCH more compact-one side of the dinette & two milk boxes on the sofa! It works, though!

    Hi!so happy for y’all! We have a 2009 Pulse on a Dodge Sprinter chassis. Had it about 3 years. Door is up behind the cab and we have a dining booth that makes into another bed. We like yours and really anticipate seeing your plans coming to fruition! We may copy some of that or take from it anyway. We’re up the road in Ocala, FL home base. We love how it drives too! We toad a Ford Focus. Towing only cuts one mpg! One issue is we have to watch out for BioDiesel it’ll foul the fuel filter. Check your manual, later years don’t have an issue. My manual says No Bio.

    • @EatSeeRV
      @EatSeeRV  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the insights. We toured one pulse with the dinette as well, and really liked the wide openness of this floor plan and under bay storage! Glad to hear it drives nice. You have some great ideas for the remodel. Years ago I had a convection microwave oven. The convection part is just an oven that works separately from the microwave. Mine had separate dials for the microwave and the oven. I'm with you on those old plastic looking couches, replace it.

    • @EatSeeRV
      @EatSeeRV  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      With us boondocking the convection micro just uses too much power. We'd rather use gas so when we're out in the sticks running off solar, we aren't pulling from the batteries. Glad you're with me on the couch! Bye bye ha - Liz

    Just wanted to tell you guys how much my husband and I enjoy your videos! We are looking to get our first RV this year and are learning so much from you guys. I wanted to ask if you would consider a video on minimalist living in the RV- for example, what clothing essentials should we keep for FT RV living and what can we purge. I think that's my biggest fear- purging something only to find out I should have kept it. Like, how many shoes and what kinds do you have with you and the same for clothing- different destinations require different kinds of clothing- so what do you own and keep with you? Do you store anything that you don't have in the RV in a separate storage unit? Thanks in advance! xoxo Miriam

    • @EatSeeRV
      @EatSeeRV  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Miriam, yes are great questions & would definitely make a great video!
      The short answer is, it depends on what size rig you see yourself traveling in. If you end up with a larger 5th wheel or class A you could probably keep most everything you have in your closet currently. But, if you decide on a smaller C or B then obviously storage will limited.

    It's July 2020. I watched this video before but don't remember when.
    I'll have to watch some older and newer ones to catch up. I have been looking online and watching You Tube videos on the Navion and the View. Wondering if you looked at those and why you chose the Fleetwood.
    Could you give a 1year update?

    • @EatSeeRV
      @EatSeeRV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The fleetwood has performed well for us! The sprinter chassis is very capable and is the same chassis that Winnebago uses for their navions and views. The main reason we did not end up with a navion or view 24d is because the bed can not be used with the slide in.
      So, we found the fleetwood 24s with a full wall slide allowing the same roomy feel as the navion/view 24d for a good deal and renovated it to fit our lifestyle! Honestly since we bought used outside of a warranty period the brand didn't really make a difference to us. - Dennis ✌️

    • @EatSeeRV
      @EatSeeRV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We didn't really have much option. We found a floor plan we liked and it had a slide. Not ideal, but it is nice to have the extra space when we want it. We love that we don't need the slide out to use or live in it. We've kept it in at least half the time we've camped over the past 2 weeks because it was cold, we wanted to keep it sealed. Hope that makes sense? - Liz

      Hey Mark, we want a composting toilet because we prefer to boondock and have limited water storage. Our fresh water capacity is only 30 gallons, so we don't want to waste water flushing a toilet. Yes, it can handle colder temperatures, and we could tow a car. We have a whiring sound from the rear. Went to a local authorized Mercedes Sprinter maintenance shop who misdiagnosed it with long base Sprinter cargo van bulletins. Have now talked to Fleetwood and they have no known issues of this sort. But, they advised and then located a local Chrysler/Dodge dealer who has a big enough bay and will look at it. It's hard to know whether you need to go to Mercedes or Dodge with "mechanical" issues. Hubby normally does all our auto work but at 64 it's getting a little harder. We talked to at least a dozen sprinter shops before calling Fleetwood. They were very helpful. Thanks for reaching out.

    Just started watching your videos and oddly enough the last video I watched was your top 5 murphy bed RVs at the Florida Supershow. In that video you talked about how you really disliked slides and how it is a cutout of the vehicle and allows for drafts and it's not worth the extra space. Now that your "new" RV has a slide, y'all are talking about how great it is because it opens up the space. I am so confused. Is a slide worth it or not?

    • @EatSeeRV
      @EatSeeRV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We really like that we have the option for a slide and functionality of our RV with the slide in or out. It's be great if we had no slide but we couldn't find one that fit our needs. It is less efficient and we keep the slide in when it's cold. It's really a personal preference. - Liz

    Explain the not def that you use and what years? Have fun.

    • @EatSeeRV
      @EatSeeRV  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Explaining this should probably require its own video. I'll give you a quick run down but, please google "Diesel emissions system" as this topic is extensive & varies depending on manufacturer of the vehicle.
      But, as far as i have researched on sprinters.
      2007 - 2009 model years were equipped with DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) in the exhaust.
      2010 - Current model years have DPF & an additional emissions component called DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) wich is supposed to clean the DPF filter periodically.
      DEF is a mixture of Urea & water.
      The reason I like the fact that ours doesn't have DEF is it's just one more thing to have to purchase & another potential failure point in the motor. So, since it's not there I don't have to worry about it!
      Hope this helps! - Dennis ✌️

    I just started watching you so i had a lot to catch up on. I began at the rv show and what you liked and disliked. What you didn't want. Then i found what you bought and just laughed. You didn't reveal early which would have given you input from those who had this lemon. You settled for a bed above the cab add you said you couldn't afford those which didn't have it. You never looked at aB+ which is on the sprinter but no overhang but a large box.
    Good luck on not revealing your plans. I'm not sure anyone cares or is invested that much. As i skip ahead i see time of problems coming your way. You paid someone to inspect this? You should sue them. When buying old you make the dealer soak it with high pressure water in front of you. The worst thing on old units is water intrusion followed by the fridge burning up. Yep i know I'm critical but that's because of how you act about the knowledge on this unit. It was 0.

    • @EatSeeRV
      @EatSeeRV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey David. It's lesson learned and is exactly why we share our experiences on this channel. We wouldn't sue. Compromises were made on our floorplan but we utlimately found a layout that we felt gave us what we wanted without a Murphy bed, since that was out of the question. We don't want a class B+ unless it was one of the newer Leisure travel vans and that's out of our price point. Also, problems can happen with ANY RV new or used. We didn't have 0 knowledge going into it. This is not our 1st RV. We learned a lot and definitely had some challenges but now have a great rig we love. We're happy to have you around our channel if you find the videos helpful. But being rude in your comments isn't the way to go. Sharing your advice or opinions in a kind way will get you a lot farther. Thanks for watching - Liz
