Great to see you traveling again, esp. in an area that brings back memories of summer 1981: Me and my wife traveled in a rented motorhome from NYC to Florida and back up again. We stayed in an RV resort in/at/near a Cherokee "reservation". We checked in at the reception, having passports checked etc.. After dark, there were two knocks at the RV-door. I opened the door, but there was noBODY, except two bottles of REAL BAVARIAN beer!!! I quickly took them in, because we had been informed that there was a strict ban on alcohol there. The taste of home let us sleep very well that night. When we left the following morning, the receptionist leaving his office, with a smile in his face told us how much he had enjoyed his military service in Bavaria - and the local beers!! I still wonder which angel had put the two bottles at our RV door :-) . Greetings from Bavaria, Germany.
We just got back from Gatlinburg, Cherokee and Asheville 10 day ago and it was cold than! I absolutely love it! We hike up to Clingman’s dome, did the Cade’s cove loop and saw a black bear and many large elk! Hike up to Mingo Falls in Cherokee and it was beautiful! Went to Biltmore as it is now lite up for Christmas and than went to Piegah National Forest and saw 3 more spectacular waterfalls! Hopefully your shake down trip goes very smoothly for you!
Wow you got to do a lot! Unfortunely we didn't have as much time with the weather. We raced to Asheville with a small cold front. Then a big one came and it got rediculously cold. So hiking was not top of our list! Haha so glad you had a great trip! Thanks for watching - Liz
We are also Floridians and headed north for Thanksgiving (Talulah Gorge) and we'll make several stops in the Smokies. I just found your channel for the first time this evening. Looking forward to reviewing several of your vids.
@@EatSeeRV We have been in this area many times on motorcycles and stayed in hotels. This will be our first Camping trip up there and our first out of state trip with the RV.
I'm sure it will be awesome in Summer! Look into the drive on US 19 through Nantahala National Forest. It was GORGEOUS! Lots of rafting places, cute little hotels, shops, and restaurants along the river. - Liz
Guys, we took our C on many shake downs, no issues,, as soon as we started our trip to the east coast, the tires went flat one at a time, why... Rubber Valve stems, if you haven't done so, change them out with the metal ones.. don't forget the spare.. love what you did with the interior, more like home, less like trailer...
Glad your shakedown didn't have much too shakedown! :) Yes, we are replacing those. For some reason the old valve stems have been partially replaced, so luckily we won't have to replace them all. Thank you for the compliment on the RV. We're looking forward to the big reveal so we can show everyone the final finished product. - Liz
C’mon over to the quiet side of the Smokies😁......the North Carolina side. I live in the mountains of Bryson City, NC and it’s a breath of fresh air compared to the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge tourist traps. Enjoy your trip!
Thank you, we enjoyed the NC side, although we did hear the leaves were a bit more vibrant on the TN side this year. We didn't get to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg this go around. We were super close to Bryson City. - Liz
I was just at that harvest host last Thursday night. Navigated that giant pot hole and those two trees. Actually had to trim branches off the tree on the left to get through without scratching my RV. I bought two bottles of wine. A bit close to the interstate, some noise, but tolerable.
I had to chuckle when you mentioned your timing, arriving just in time to be around the school children on a school outing.... Several years ago, my ex-wife and I visited Plymouth MA, while there we visited the Plymouth Plantation, we also went on a whale watch. We were disappointed to learn there were no regular charters going out that day, because there was a local elementary school outing, about 25 kids and 6 adults.... Of course when the adults learned of our story, they offered to let us go out with the class, I'm sure they figured 2 more adults for supervision would be helpful.... We were lucky enough to see plenty of whale action, full breaches and tail slaps... But the entire time on the boat, my heart was in my mouth, I was sure at some point I'd have to go overboard to rescue a child...Kids were running from one end of the boat the other, giggles and screaming....Fortunately we made it back to the dock with no mishaps, just me with my nerves shot....lol
Happy y’all are back on the road! Alli wants that black and red buffalo plaid shirt lol. She loves that stuff! We are heading to Helen Georgia next week for a few days. Can’t wait to get back to some mountains.

If, you break down on an interstate or any road, you will have to unload the scooter, into traffic. If, you needed it to get somewhere. Just saying, be safe. I would carry it the opposite way.

Another cool video Liz & Dennis! Love watching you guys. You are (were) so close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and, dang me for saying it: "Dollywood"! Are you not into the tourist trap places? I'm not really into them either, but had an awesome time in Gatlinburg ... taking the tram up to Ol' Gatlinburg was so cool. Also, Dolly had a restaurant/showplace there in Pigeon Forge where you get a 4 or 5-course dinner, PLUS a rodeo show. It was so cool. Not sure if it's still there. It's not at the same location as Dollywood. It's more located in Pigeon Forge. Anyway, it was cool, but here comes my usual disclaimer: I'd had a few margaritas.
Haha! We're not, not into touristy places. Oconaluftee village was definitely a touristy place. We're just selective with our types of touristy places. Also, we weren't going into TN this go around so even though Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg were an hour away it wasn't really on our radar this time. We will be back though! - Liz
