I never knew about the dev hell this game went through. I played it, genuinely enjoyed, got the good ending, replayed it and got the bad ending just because, and set it down as a satisfying gameplay experience. I enjoyed the characters, the writing, the the voice acting, etc. it’s definitely not my favorite rpg but it’s definitely up there for me. I don’t think it’s better than shadow hearts covenant or the original however.
I should go finish The New World, always wanted to see what forms Shania (i probs spelt that wrong) could take. But yes im pretty sure the SH games is literally about how much life sucks XD
