Great video! I don’t usually enjoy SotN reviews anymore because they all devolve into the same arguments & points but I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Your passion speaks through the screen and I found myself agreeing with most all of your points. Especially stuff with the music lol. I also LOVE how you brought up stuff people don’t talk about nearly enough, like the background depth & that one funny "I guess I tried" ending lmao. It’s always really interesting to see peoples different perspectives with a game like this one especially. Really enjoyed the video. Good luck with your move man, wishing you the best. & looking forward to future content if you’re able 😊
In my opinion this Castlevania: Symphony of the Night didn't sell as many copies because we had played 2D side scrollers for almost two decades and were looking for something new. The PS1 was sold exclusively as a new 3D game console and that is what people were looking for. We still had generations of 2D games and consoles at home and at a glance this looked very similar to many of those games. It did gain popularity because it is such an exceptional game but it took convincing just to get people to try a 2D game in the generation of 3D.
I play a ton of this game and I liked your analysis of why it's good as well as the jokes you made and everything. A well paced video in general there are little dead spots though. It's interesting though I love castlevania for it's difficult spells and fun crazy movement with gravity boots + wing smash and all that stuff, but there's a lot of reasons to like this game and I really love hearing other perspectives. also second castle best castle and I won't take that back!

Awesome perspective on something that has game that has already been reviewed to death, great job!
