No leaving work on the desk to finish in the morning, because the bed folds down onto that desk. I would also be very nervous around furniture that tips up (and comes down!) at the lightest touch. I do take offence at being called selfish and wasteful simply I can't use (or afford, frankly) this particular version of an Ideal Home.
This is one of the coolest videos I've seen in a while. I'm moving into a bigger apartment with a second bedroom. I want to set it up as a guest room, but I always want a home office and a studio. This gave me so many great ideas! Thank you!
Ikea needs to get with the program, because this company is super expensive. Maybe they can license a few of the products? I REALLY WANT THE COUCH WITH THE BED AND THE EXPANDABLE DINING TABLE!!!!!
@@YOUCANTDOTHATONROBITUSSI-sl6em The furniture shown here is expensive, hence why they want Ikea to get with the program, so said furniture will be available at Ikea's prices.
The couch/bed and table/desk/bed have been on the market for decades. They are what this guy refers to as 'clunky.' These types of units are in use in timeshares/hotels/etc. Check out a studio at Polo Towers in Las Vegas, for example.
Great ideas have to come with affordable prices, what is your price, may we ask? Is it really $10.000 dollars so nobody can afford it? Wow ... By the way I had a unit like that desk and my bed and a bookshelf all my life when I was growing up in Europe and we were poor so it was affordable for sure!
I have a sweater that can be used on both sides, turn it inside out and voila, a new sweater. Makes me feel kinda smart. I also have curtains that can work as a table cloth if I lay it down on the table top. My toothbrush can also be used as drumsticks for my collapsible mini drum kit - AND my car (a mini of course) is a transformer! Now beat that.
This stuff is cute. But it's also a sad statement on the fact that real-estate prices have become so outrageous that people are now being forced into these tiny, cramped boxes, made from the cheapest materials which leads them to resort to these measures to compensate.
No, it's partly because so many people want large homes that we're in our current situation. I'm Australia, cities don't stop sprawling out because everyone is so he'll bent on getting a house. So it becomes the norm to have a long commute, living in places with crappy urban planning, easily wasting 4 hours on transport everyday, adding to stress and pollution. Obviously there are many other factors at play in the price increase, like the advent of airbnb-like services, regulations that favour investors over live-in owners or no regulations on rental prices. But people need to realise we need to more densely. It's better for the environment and for people's health (long commutes bring about a whole host of physical, mental and emotional problems).
@@miyounova While I would NOT be able to enjoy living in a city and actually see my commute as relaxing even (especially with the motorcycle) there is some truth in that. I wonder how people will live in 10k years. :)
@@kontoname fair enough, but for a lot of people 2h commute every morning and then 2h back is not sustainable. If you work in Australia, 38h a week, and 4h commute 5 days a week, it eats your life up. Imagine if you work a bit longer than that as well. Although to be fair, with long commutes, even if you worked 35h a week, which is the shortest full time I know of, it'd still be difficult.
@@ernieRUOK Better to own realestate than furniture that somes and goes out of style to to mention breaks down and needs to be replaced. And you are correct. By the time you finance this furntiture the monthly payments means you could have lived in a biggar space. After all the makers of this furniture want top dollar and could care less about being reasonable.
I think it’s a fantastic idea.we are creating similar at our cottage for extra guests, flip bed down from wall. Similar to Murphy. Love almost everything about this saving space way of life. Especially with many people I know wanting to live life free of “stuff”.
those beds are only really useful for spare bedrooms though because otherwise you have to remake them every night, which very few people will have the patience to do some of those tables on the other hand - very useful
This is exactly what I'm looking for! I'm moving to very small space. I've looked at day beds, hydraulic mattresses to store stuff under the bed, murphy beds but I still need to build shelves to utilize the vertical space in my very tiny odd shaped bedroom. The cost of materials, hiring someone to build for me is not cost effective. I'm happy to support this company! They have created a niche market and creating employment. I'm also self employed and applaud any company willing to take the risk and financial investment in trying something new! Looking at options now! wish me luck! :)
I think I want to go into property, even though I'm studying motor mechanics :( I think studio apartments could benefit from this sort of furniture as no one really wants a bed in their lounge/dining area
They mostly seem like great ideas, but a few of them aren't so good upon deeper inspection. The extendible table, for example, has boards that go across an A-frame of telescoping bars. That's fine for the end where the bars are wide apart, but the other end has bars that are really close together, so people would need to be very careful to keep things stacked near the centre, or the board would flip. All fold-down beds have several flaws. The mattress needs to be an exact thickness and needs to be one that will stay relatively flat, when the bed is vertical. They usually can't have bed covers left on them either.
as we are pushing the boundaries of decreasing our carbon footprint, these designs could very well become the norm. thanks for thinking outside the box :)
Welllllll, the problem he brings up is that with the growing population, we are becoming tighter on space. hence space saving furniture... thus allowing for a larger population-> more consumption -> more "carbon footprint".... so in perspective.... the exact opposite of what you want is happening. Its cool stuff, but if you want an answer to a global crisis, it is certainly not a bunch of friggin murphy beds.
I think this is a lovely way to get the ' i wish i could be the 1%' group into smaller more reasonable spaces with rooms that double or triple functions. For the rest of us... It's a nice video. Interesting to see what's out there.
The only piece of furniture that may be truly needed is either a daybed or futon couch. All items can be stored in pull-out baskets beneath a bed, including one set of kitchenware, dry goods and a two-week wardrobe. There is a lot of space beneath a slightly elevated bed. No need for a loft. Sit on your bed to dine, study, lounge, entertain, etc. Eat with your plate in your lap. Rather than a desk, use a handheld computer or clipboard. Store handy items in a tote bag on a nearby hook. Store towels and cosmetic baskets on open narrow shelving over a toilet. Try a small 12" triangular bathroom sink without a vanity. Additional closets, cupboards, shelving, tables and chairs may not be needed. Try floor cushions. It's not about seeing how much stuff you can cram into a small space that you would ordinarily use in a larger home. It's about changing your behavior!
Ok, but some people like to have guests and stuff, and it's a little uncomfortable and awkward to eat around a bed with 4 people. I agree that people should do with less, but there's a point where it becomes a little ridiculous.
I love this furniture its such a space saver this would be such an amazing fit for my home I always needs extra beds when guests arrive unexpectedly but no room to have two or three beds in one room
As I look into Tiny houses more and more this has given me some really good ideas. I never thought I'd want a Murphy bed but they're looking a little more appealing
I see some of these products being really good for a quest bedroom that isn't just a quest bedroom. Like maybe you have a home office or something but need a bed for someone who visits. I also see things like this becoming really popular in japan or other areas where you don't have a whole lot of space. Obviously if you live in a smaller town or city most of this stuff wouldn't make cents to you.
Looks awesome and it seems like a good idea but cost wise it isn't practical considering they are aiming at people who either have big families or very limited space which to me means the target consumer probably has a limited budget as is yet most of these pieces seen to costs thousands of dollars that I'm sure most within the target consumer wouldn't b able to afford, if they could afford it they'd probably more likely to just get a bigger home instead
Kool furniture for the rich area of lifestyles.. Just wondering though what is the weight capatity of some of these beds that are hidden away and probability the high area as well.. Should be mention too when doing videos.. Great show area of the furniture ..ty...

I do take offence at being called selfish and wasteful simply I can't use (or afford, frankly) this particular version of an Ideal Home.
Looks like we won't be going to work anytime soon.
I REALLY WANT THE COUCH WITH THE BED AND THE EXPANDABLE DINING TABLE!!!!!
yes but you don't need one
@@YOUCANTDOTHATONROBITUSSI-sl6em The furniture shown here is expensive, hence why they want Ikea to get with the program, so said furniture will be available at Ikea's prices.
You could always make your own transforming furniture.
Evolve I agree if they were smart they would start upgrading what they have at ikea
The couch/bed and table/desk/bed have been on the market for decades. They are what this guy refers to as 'clunky.' These types of units are in use in timeshares/hotels/etc. Check out a studio at Polo Towers in Las Vegas, for example.
That dining room table that folds out is pretty cool.
Is it fixed in place, though?
Some interesting pieces. I could easily replicate some of them for my personal use like the shelf that becomes the legs of the Murphy bed.
What a talented salesman!
My 5 year old could sell that
TITAN2112 the product sells itself
Great ideas have to come with affordable prices, what is your price, may we ask? Is it really $10.000 dollars so nobody can afford it? Wow ...
By the way I had a unit like that desk and my bed and a bookshelf all my life when I was growing up in Europe and we were poor so it was affordable for sure!
Perfect solutions for my future tiny house!
I LOVE THIS FURNITURE! perfect for the multitasking minimalist with 3 children.
This stuff is cute. But it's also a sad statement on the fact that real-estate prices have become so outrageous that people are now being forced into these tiny, cramped boxes, made from the cheapest materials which leads them to resort to these measures to compensate.
Communist alert!!! (lol..just kidding :-)
How much is the furniture cost vs the cost of buying a home with extra rooms when homes can cost $400/square foot?
That's cool, but with the money that furniture costs, I can rent a bigger apartment. 🙄
Durable goods vs compounding payments?
@@ernieRUOK Better to own realestate than furniture that somes and goes out of style to to mention breaks down and needs to be replaced. And you are correct. By the time you finance this furntiture the monthly payments means you could have lived in a biggar space. After all the makers of this furniture want top dollar and could care less about being reasonable.
KELLI2L2 Absolutely!if it’s brakes you have to get loan to repair.
@KELLI2L2 Exactly. these are ideas... that will be copied.
these are for rich people only ☹️
lol imagine if some one robs one of these they would be like wtf where is everything
Why the hell do they have so many beds?
Lool 😹😹😹
Hahaha I'm 💀!
I think it’s a fantastic idea.we are creating similar at our cottage for extra guests, flip bed down from wall. Similar to Murphy. Love almost everything about this saving space way of life. Especially with many people I know wanting to live life free of “stuff”.
I completely agree with this guy. I think that saving space is very important, especially in crowded cities. This guy is genius.
Wow, so creative!
I think it is a showroom to showcase all the things they sell. It is not a house.
I was waiting for him to show a bed transforming into a bed.
lmao me too
He really dislikes bed
+Sydneysider gvcc Wu
+Anonymous Vitruvius Shut up and go to bed!
😂😜
those beds are only really useful for spare bedrooms though because otherwise you have to remake them every night, which very few people will have the patience to do
some of those tables on the other hand - very useful
This is exactly what I'm looking for! I'm moving to very small space. I've looked at day beds, hydraulic mattresses to store stuff under the bed, murphy beds but I still need to build shelves to utilize the vertical space in my very tiny odd shaped bedroom. The cost of materials, hiring someone to build for me is not cost effective. I'm happy to support this company! They have created a niche market and creating employment. I'm also self employed and applaud any company willing to take the risk and financial investment in trying something new! Looking at options now! wish me luck! :)
Stunning space saving furniture designs to change the entire look of abode.Quite impressive and easy to implement tips.
I like this since it does save us space/materials produce ;w;
Yep~
Welcome to my home. I have two rooms, no bedrooms and 17000 beds
Rayan Khan Jesus there are so many beds! XD
It's a show room not a house man
+Rayan Khan OMG im laughing so bad!! ur totally right hahahaa too many beds! thnks for literally making my day better, by making me laugh!
Rayan Khan- Thanks for making me laugh out loud!
quietandmildone
Everything is awesome! If only i could buy one of them & use in my tiny house.
LOVE THE MURPHY BEDS. LOOKING FORWARD TO PURCHASING SOME NEXT SPRING.
Great concept/idea for a one person or a couple for a studio apartment. If space is limited, it makes a lot of sense. Fantastic!
Hi Kirsten I have to say you never cease to amaze....this video had me wanting to redo my entire house....lol.....but is this show room in NY?
Thank you Nancy. And yes, I visited their showroom in Manhattan. Much of what he showed is from Clei, an Italian furniture designer.
Thank you!!! I love these vids, keep them coming!!!
I think I want to go into property, even though I'm studying motor mechanics :(
I think studio apartments could benefit from this sort of furniture as no one really wants a bed in their lounge/dining area

I love this stuff. Where can I buy it?
I don’t like when salesmen try to lay a guilt trip on people to pitch a sale
yes yes, I could keep my crafting supplies on the shelves!! Love this company!
Great idea. Looking for this for a senior apt.
They usually can't have bed covers left on them either.
not sure if you found this out yet but they're being sold with memory foam beds now, which means the beds can be squashed any which way
Very cool, but mind the pinch points!
as we are pushing the boundaries of decreasing our carbon footprint, these designs could very well become the norm. thanks for thinking outside the box :)
So, how's it going right now? Are you still thinking having a family living in a 400 ft. house is a great idea?
Happy to see that there are still Inventors out there!
I would love to have the first bed😍
Me too
Kakashi: "Underneath this bed is.....another bed"
sir.. how much this cost.
I would almost said.".that's nice,take my money"
Imagine your roommate was sleeping on that couch at 1:36 and you wanted to go to bed.
I think this is a lovely way to get the ' i wish i could be the 1%' group into smaller more reasonable spaces with rooms that double or triple functions. For the rest of us... It's a nice video. Interesting to see what's out there.
I can see that I'll be a customer of these products very very soon. Simply brilliant !
Utterly utterly amazing stuff. I'm guessing this is high end furniture with a high end price?
yup... you'd be right there!
I agree that people should do with less, but there's a point where it becomes a little ridiculous.
ill forget how to use my house lmao
+Lakario Davis theirs a bed around here somewhere, i know it!
+Lakario Davis Laughed so hard on that - maybe I wouldn't laugh if I actually couldn't find my bed 😆
+Lakario Davis Fse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LMFAOOO
I love this furniture its such a space saver this would be such an amazing fit for my home I always needs extra beds when guests arrive unexpectedly but no room to have two or three beds in one room
Well thought .... Much appreciated on the content and description in the video.
I built my whole loft which included a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen for the price of that fold out queen bed thing.
Brilliant!
so THIS is where Quagmire goes for his furnishings!
Loving these furniture ideas
6:45 My Grandma had that extending table. With the "Watertown Slide" mechanism. It was from the1930s the Slide goes back to the 1800s
He seems mad that everyone doesn't have rooms like this, but it's also super expensive.
Also don't see him getting into any of those tiny looking bunks to demonstrate how comfy they are.
good for motor homes. if installed in them it would be great
Wonderful solution to, "I don't see any bedroom. I have got to get some sleep. Where can I sleep?"
As I look into Tiny houses more and more this has given me some really good ideas. I never thought I'd want a Murphy bed but they're looking a little more appealing
WOW! Awesome I don't need one but I want one anyway. I've never seen anything like these small space saving ideas. GENIUS!!!
Amazingly cool ideas for space saving! But I think people who can afford to buy these things can afford a bigger house.
+Joey Baseball yes it wouldn't make money for you to have that many beds lol so many quests and not enough beds 😆
I think this is a great invention for ppl who live in small homes. love it!
All i can imagine is coming home drunk and maiming myself trying to sort out the bed
Omigod - you just made me Laugh Out Loud!! Truly FUNNY!
VERY FUNNY!
These space saving ideas need to be implemented with a container home!
This is like that episode of Family Guy where they're running around Quagmire's house and beds keep popping out from everywhere.
I love that! And it looks really good! Beautiful designs! Live the bookcase!
Genius space saving furniture for a tiny house. It is great engineering.
"Swivels shelves, lowers bed, climbs into bed, can't sleep, decide to read a book....damn!"
I love these. Where do I find them.
Hey Anita, not sure if you saw my comment on my blog.... Thanks for reading! Anita check out my website, I always recommend starting on the triplex which is the Slim, probio5, and BioCleanse- amazing for detoxing and losing weight! kamillemccollum.myplexusproducts.com
Kamille McCollum You nincompoop! She was asking about the bed!
+Andrewdude302 plot twist!... The detox biocleanse can be turned on its side and with the push of a button you now have a bed👏👏😆😆😆
+Andrewdude302 😆😆😆👍👍here 💰💰💰take my money I'll take 3 to go please lol!!!
+Jordan O. Vieira Jr. She knows, it's called spamming! lol
Here we have a shirt! Stretch out and u have a bed! Congrats
AWESOME FURNITURE! I need this in my small 2B/1B Duplex.
Wow...this is purely awesome 😍
"Everything on the shelf, stays on the shelf." It's suspicious that he keeps mentioning that... Lol
Beds here! beds there! beds beds every where!
nah ! I felt claustrophobic just looking at theses rooms ! I like my space
omg I love this stuff! love the storage beds & also especially the expandable tables starting at 6:15! gonna make my wish list!
Beautiful sir, what a fantastic idea and workmen ship. Hats up.
So here we have a cup, you just turn the handle and pull this out and now you have a bed. Just push it back with you finger tips amd you have your coffee cup again. So here we have a fork, just turn the twine now it's a bed. Careful when you're eating with it.
Lol
+Rayan Khan lmao
+Rayan Khan and look! The coffee stays in the cup!
+twistdshade With your fingertips!
Rayanllo
What about personal privacy? A whole family can't sleep in one giant room together. That was the whole point of houses being built with separate rooms!
Sure they can. We did it for thousands of years between the invention of structures and the invention of privacy.
I'm not saying we Should, but we definitely can
Yep, but get a business in an office 60 min from home. Then get into a serious crunch where you are working 18 hour days or more. Having a bed in your personal office is a God Send.
Also I'll accidentally murder my kid who's sitting on the couch by going to bed.
The wealthy have always popularized separate bedrooms as a signifier of wealth and status.
HOLY SH!T! Watching this guy is like watching a magician pull things out of thin air!
5:00 Also, I don't trust the look of that bed. (=_=)
Neat! Very innovative space-saving furnitures that makes the room much more cooler!
just beds popping out everywhere loll great designs!!
