Thanks for the great explanation! Just note that: - To create a new terrain type, you can right-click and choose "Add Terrain Type", instead of switching to the Tile Collision Editor in order to select the tile. - Tile probability is not a percentage, it's a relative value compared to other selected tiles (a tile with twice the probably of another tile will appear twice as often, but the actual values don't matter). So there is no need to reduce the default of 1 for common tiles (or you could just set it to 100 to make those tiles 100x more common compared to all the others).
Thanks for the clarification on probabilities and the easier way to create a new Terrain Type. And thanks for the fantastic tool. I don't know where my project would be without it.
I'm looking at possibly recording some updated and better quality videos for the same topic using the latest Tiled. Thanks for letting me know that there's a need for it!
I followed your tutorial but am having some trouble with the grass tiles. They're not behaving like they are in your tutorial. I've followed it exactly and made sure the grass and dirt tiles are complimentary. Just getting a lot of random stray single lines / X shapes in my grass as I map onto dirt
I should make a tutorial on how to make sure that the upper part of the rock always gets drawn on the layer above, any time the lower part of the rock is drawn.

Also, I noticed that OBS didn't pick up the file dialogue windows at the beginning. I'm still learning the software, so bear with me. Thanks.
This is exactly what I was looking for to get started with Tiled. Thank you for the tutorial.
hard to understand in the updated version oftiled.

Great video, man! Why am I just now finding this?! Keep it up!
This made my day, thanks!
Still waiting on more tutorials.
I realize it's been four years, but I'm looking at creating some new ones soon, and making a list of possible topics.

same. the updated tiled is weird.
If I get the time, I'd like to record some updated videos for the most recent Tiled, so hopefully we can clear that up.
This is epic thanks alot
Awesome, I'm glad it was helpful. I hope your projects are going well.
This is amazing.. auto sub to your work sir..
Thank you!
Mine is only filling in the corner and leaving the rest gray.
Oh no, you marked the lower part of the grass rock as "grass" now it will include half rocks :)

New version is confusing
Thanks for the heads up. It seems I should sit down to record an updated video with this in mind. You aren't the only one saying this.
