There are so many upcoming changes and it feels like there is a new blog every single day. Today we are going to be covering all of the major price swings leading up to the varlemore update. There is also an upcoming project rebalance and loads of small QoL change as well. All of the update have an effect on the osrs economy.

I'm kind of surprised nobody has tried to create an inflation indicator for OSRS and then use that to adjust current prices to more accurately model changes independent of inflation.
Bond prices ar probably very close to such an indicator
@@Oct0ber_Skyy Nah, there's a few confounding variables that make bonds an inaccurate gauge, specifically events that drive up bond demand disproportionately to other goods/ingame commodities. Ban waves will spike bonds but not necessarily all other items equivalently.
@@TheMilkYourDadWentToBuy That makes a lot of sense. I should have probably said best “single item” indicator, and only because it’s tied to an external currency that is more stable. I’m sure a better answer would be weighted on a ton of consumables, equipment, etc?
@@Oct0ber_Skyy Yeah, a solid litmus would need to be an amalgamation of a bunch of different factors and unfortunately I don’t think the people that have the requisite skills to do so would generally be interested in doing that for runescape lol.
jagex probably has something like that in-house
Implings went up because of the hour long clue juggling update can spam open 500 imps and then just do all the clues
Lol buying implings. hahaha you deserve garbage rng for that
@@JaytheGreen?
I am enjoying my imp investments as clue scroll grinder rn lol
@@JaytheGreen buyin implings is the best way, imagine being a ironman
@@JaytheGreen you’re the type of dude to log into his level 70 main with a firecape chasing around maxed infernal cape players with thousands of difficult KC and 10+ inferno kc accusing them of buying their cape
All i know is this inflation makes it really hard to grind a bond in f2p
Edit: I did finally grind my first bond. And thanks to the kind soul who generously gave me a bond. I appreciate you. I hope to finally enjoy Runescape in the members' worlds. Be kind to each other.
Yeah this always happens. its sold as an easy way for players to pay for membership to a game then its gets hyper inflated and becomes inaccessible.
Lol then work for 5min irl and get a month membership?? Jesus
@@chrystone1 all money goes to helping family, RuneScape is just an escape. I have no ill will toward farming a bond, just saying inflation makes it harder, especially with it being my first account
Yeah the NPC dialogue on tutorial island telling you that you can 'get membership by just playing the game' feels very out of date at this point
dude u are in 2024 get a job and dont waste ur time on f2p
Partyhats next
Could be because only a limited amount enter the game yearly. The "rares" aren't like other items that enter the game daily. So it's possible.
So stoked you’re uploading regularly again, thanks for all you do
This is his job… you thank your server like this?
Thanks for this! I'm coming back to RS after over 15 years of not playing and I was wondering why there always seems to be someone at the GE every day spamming "Buying Christmas Crackers, 1.5mil"
Tip for ironman: dump them in your deathscoffer
Or drop trade to a main and sell for bonds depending on how many you saved over the years lol
@@bduckett2522 probs based tbh XD
@@bduckett2522 They can also be insecure a-holes who constantly feel the need to compare, but whose keeping score lol
I was going threw my bank, wondering what do i sell to gamble, sure enough the suckers are 2m ea i was/still am mind blown reason for being here. Glad i had 6 of them 😂😂😂
Damn lucky I only had 1
YOU literally crashed the Christmas cracker, damnit
streamers are all snitches
I was just about to comment "thanks your gonna ruin everything "
HE DIDNT CRASH IT, it crashed itself... you must not understand anything about investing at all lmaooo. Things dont just spike up quickly and then stay there... people buy and then when people sell....the price goes down...............wowoowwwowow crazy right?!?!?
They are currently sitting at just below 4 mil each. Crashed nothing. They look like they might go parabolic. If you're smart, you'd be holding onto some.
@@take7upyours822 i did hold. at the time i wrote that comment though , they were selling for like 100k lol but then 1m the next morning
Please keep up the great work, like seeing your videos.
His videos are shit and merch clans ruin game stfu.
of course I get the venator visage drop when its 74m lmao
@FlippingOldSchool I tried Rocket money and found out i was paying for 200 OSRS memberships! Thanks for the heads up man! There goes my Tbow fund 😢
The voidwaker went down, I bought one 4 days ago for 81m, but it seems to have slowly climbed again a little (sold it today for 91m).
I didn't play since Forester update and 2h axes and want to come back, is there ways to catch up?
the ely will likely be either actively bad or require shield swapping in perilous moons; they've mentioned multiple hitsplats being relevant (meaning you'd like to use scythe, or the new dual-wield weapon that's going to be a reward from this content)
Glad I kept the guardian boots when I got the drop from GGs lol
Glad i bought me and my buddy a scythe back when they were a few hundred mil. Sense then he gave me back scythe for his collat and i cashed in 800m profit
the vetion bot problem is out of control my cc and multiple others camp those caves
Bots aren’t as big as a problem as merch clans and this troll content creator they just sit at ge and take money from the real players and rwt there gold so learn before you speak.
I was also wondering what was happening to coconuts…
Dragon Bones was a lucky one for me... I had bought and just been lazy about using a stack of about 4k of them... then I realized the price spike happened and decided to just flip them instead.
Wow lucky u made like 1m!
Should have talked about the gilded scim going to 28-30m
Yeah tf is going on with that atm?
Merchclans manipulate prices.
I was buying gilded chains for 2.5m. All of sudden they went to 8m.
Nice one flipper!
It’s so funny because I knew this would happen at some point. Bought 300 ccs for around 100k ea months ago & stopped playing. Came back seeing my bank value spiked 600m & was shocked they gamblers finally caught on. Sold off almost all of them. I think jagex might do something about it to prevent gambling similar to the m seeds. Was a nice welcome back godt
Bro I sold my stack last year. Gutted
I bought two awhile ago, wish I did more
Or they'll just phase them out and let the gamblers buy them up and use them, til their gone from game. They can just give out the phat set at reward from now on.
It's crazy just how much gold is in the game at this point. Almost makes me curious whether Jagex will do a hard reset at some point similar to what they did with old school. Where the economy will be reset entirely. Or if they will have a specific set of worlds with their own economy without the GE. That would be interesting to see.
That's (edit: sort of) what they tried with fresh start worlds and it failed spectacularly lol
@@johnnyreed8926 oh did they do something like that? I only recently started playing again. It's just pretty wild how over inflated everything is both in real life and the game.
@@johnnyreed8926no they didnt, they were just temporary and made NO sense
@@koenwijnen8278 tbh, the only purpose for fresh start worlds i can think of would be to let new players try their hand at wilderness content without the pkers around. This is obvs a very shit reason, but i could see people doing this.
I hope they'll do something about the crazy gp inflation...
Hopefully it’s a sign that they’re going to start banning bots. I’d love if them bring back Botany Bay, or even just the random events that would kill bots.
It’s because of this loser and merch clans they are holding items more then ever because of ge tax and geeed they wanna rip off people who work hard on this game.
what is the website that he is using to display the price charts of these items?
GE tracker
How can I save my chashstack from inflation when I barely play rn?
I think it’s crazy how much the highest tier weapons cost in osrs. 1.7 b would be about 20b in rs3… and their most expensive weapon ever was only 6-7b and that was on release. And it required 3 separate drops to assemble.
Merch clans are just holding them to make a huge profit like this clown because ppl that work hard and play game without just sitting at ge taking money from others will buy it and lose 400m and never recover this games full of sad troll bitches who cheat and sell gold like “Mr fliphisdic”
I want to know why the black chins are dropping in price?
I remember buying a granite hammer for like 100k and I was just clearing my inventory today and saw it went up to 385k today. So that’s cool for mid level players
i can barely afford prayer pots *~sobs~*
mid level gear costs way too much for mid level players tbh...
Had 15 of them stashed I paid like 300k each for, was a pleasant little bonus getting ~1.7 ea a couple days ago
What's hard to understand about bonds... its an item that you can buy with real money which means it will always overall rise in price...
What's happened to the hype for crush weapons? Inquisitors has been rising for the last 3 months but seems to have flattened out now
So much gold in the game. Hopefully one day i can catch up
Because losers like him just sit at ge and take money from others that will quit because they can’t get ahead.
I'm surprised you didn't cover sharks. I took february off of osrs and found that they double in price when I came back yesterday.
Pro tip, buy sea turtles. Better food, cheaper than sharks
These content creators are in on marching and flips and they make money off you idiots for doing nothing then rwt.
Can you explain why the price of Nats have dropped from 170 to 113 over the last few days?
Gotr
There was also a wave of bots being banned around the time d bones rose
He should be banned for marching ruining game for others.
christmas ckraker going up so quick
ughhhh i was planning on getting justiciar soon :/
on the flip side i got the black core from gargoyles (didnt even realize they dropped it tbh) so I did get some benefits from rampant speculation
Lol had 3 in my bank. Easy 4.5m. Thanks flipping
what website do you use to view these item price stats?
Sparc Mac must be even more rich with his collection
Those corporal beast kills for a sigil is so underpowered.
I sold my CC for 1.8m a couple days ago couldn't believe it
Look at the necklace of anguish it was at 13m now it’s at 11.9
They keep entering game is why. And people with bils buy them up cheap then dump them on market when they go up. It will always be a rich man's game.
The day after this video I got 3 bonds for 9.25m. First time I made enough for a bond with in game gold too. Grinded rev caves for 14 days and got 50m+. I no longer feel as noobish 😊
It’s not just inflation items get deleted and bought with that g.e tax to keep prices stable and as new raids get released less players play old content and tbows keep getting deleted all while going up in price due to demand
10:15 Vet'ion is being heavily botted right now by multiple bot farms. That's why the blade is so cheap
Voidwaker went up Mils though this past week
Is it not all bots? Gp is like 12 cents a mil on rwt sites, which is crazy cheap. Rev caves in particular seem to have been really bad, which is a huge source of alchs into the game, plus other bosses.
Theres been huge dupes as well...
lil late to the party but at least you're talking about it.
Because some TH-camr told people to buy them.
You guys get varlamore we get easter quests in rs3 lmao
You don't belong here stay in your lane ha ha ha
U guys get what u deserve. I played rs3 for months with and after fsw, and the community is braindead
Where is trader Steve in all of this?!
the dodgy necklace is HIGHLY profitable atm if you guys get ur opals banked up
Oh I picked a bad time to train my prayer from 62-70 huh.
(I'd never really trained it before so I didn't think about the price I just bought 2k of them yesterday)
I finally gathered enough money to buy Dharok's for melee NMZ training, then the set's price increased by 25% 😢
I’m surprised people can play osrs on any other mode than iron.
Game just isn’t the same when you can just buy whatever you want.
Noticed these were selling for 800k each a couple weeks ago and dumped all of them off of all of my accounts. RIP lol
Must be related to the bitcoin halving event
even in this game we cant escape inflation
eclectic imps was due to a bingo event in the clan im in, there was alot of imps bought beginning of march
There’s also that update changing dropped clue despawn timers to an hour 🧐
I play F2P OSRS and thought it was weird that in W301 in the GE theres always like 2 or 3 people saying they are buying all christmas crackers and now this video comes out WTF, sounds like market manipulation bevause of those damn gambling bots in the G.E.
I had 10m worth of these 9months ago... I sold b4 I took my year long break.... come back and see this.... gotta love it!!
Just bought a bond yesterday for 10.45
I need ways to make money!
Flipping for me is not going well. Swordfish and monkfish
Pvm or raid with ur clan
@@robodude5124 best way to find a clan? I’ve never played with one. Always solo
Right there with you. It's getting ridiculous out here. I'm doing air orbs, alchin, and I'm gonna try Implings again
do diaries, with diaries, kingdom, daily farm runs/bird house runs u can earn bond in a week. value adds up alot. if u add slayer into mix ull make money (will be net positive)
Little pro tip the bonds tell you how much currency has been inflated
Tbf it didn’t make sense that 7.99 got you like 4m when that would be less than 2 dollars on the BM.
Bond prices have historically followed trends and lately, from what I’ve noticed, there has consistently been 100-110k+ people online at any given hour. Not to mention bot farms more than likely using bonds.
The prices have always been weird but I might just be having a hard time seeing how the price reflects inflation in the game.
im worth around 40b and this is very interesting
just cashed my 900m out.. bought them long time ago for 1gp ea
Bro you mest up you could of made more they definitely going up to 8m each in the future but 900m still a win
They got dumped already! Apparently a merch clan was stacking them. Dumped at 666666 but bounced up to around a mil.
King condor ftw
*Either some billiinares flips bond or gagex is trolling us 😅*
Anyone else try the Melvor Idle mobile game, made by Jagex? It's RuneScape based and pretty good lol
Stackable clues: ❌
Piles of clues on a timer: ✅
i think RuneScape can just go in GE and buy out stuff increasing inflation in the game. keeping the games items high in price. a part of the games market was people were lazy and not much people taking RuneScape seriously to Grind back then redeeming value over a period of time. there was a sense of value in the game that made items homie about the game. as well for free to play with god rune armor. i feel like RuneScape can also change the new bow ammo bag can be sold for 50-100mill gold each. reducing the inflation.
*We are getting so many changes to the game
Justicular is crazy to touch 70m, no end game pvm'er has room in their bank for that junk (only a mid player set).
Sold 200 of mine for almost 4mil each
Theyre at 2.5m now, im thinking about buying one but theyll probably plummet
lol hot or cold flower poker is now christmascracker poker
osrs is turning into rs3 soon
I spent 2 bill on these at 250k…. Sorry if I was partly responsible for the market freaking out… 🤷♂️🤦♂️
Wade green
the one i saw this year was guam leaf went from like 260ish average cost to like 600/700ish each its like wtf how does this even happen lol.
glad im an ironman and can avoid all this nonsense
LMAO yeah that’s right, having an Ironman avoids all the nonsense😂😂
Theyre needed for guthix rests, restoring slight health without costing any ticks. Was needed for some combat achievements I believe
I hate the prices in this game. My bank is 350m which is POOR. Back in the day, even just before the EOC, 350m was an insane amount of gold. Santa Hats were like 100m around then.
osrs high value comes from end game gear, as for rs3 high items comes from rares if anything.
You can do anything in this game with less than 100m. Don’t play on the thought you need or want end game gear.
Ayeeee nice
Damn and here I was buying for 100k, selling for 400k thinking a made a huge profit
I’m over here waiting for the stalls update so I don’t have to spend hours of clicking stalls to get my thieving level up for dt…. First account on osrs basically a noob making a zerk
not inflation literally only mega rares going up because of more players/whales wanting them. Eveverything else is cheap/ the same its always been
Why did marks of grace drop so much? They were 20k and now it’s down to almost 13k! Wild
Agility update, you will have the option to buy amylise from brinhaven agility course
Zombie axe is really strong. Feels like it out dpses arc light at Duke which is crazy.
Wiki confirms that it does unless you are barely losing ticks with arclight, idk if it was intended to be this good
I BET YOU AND SEERZ GOT SOMETHING PLANNED LOL SEEN HIS VIDEO CAME OUT YESTERDAY ALL ABOUT THIS
This is because king condor got his community to buy them up
Bot farms are making gp faster than they are making mega rares inflating the mega rare prices when they cash out
i just dumped my 6 for 2m each
I don't understand OSRS economy and I never will
Hahaha I bought them at 600k after figuring this out
LUCKLY i held on to mines from the events 7m saved up
Lets as a community to screw over bots and scammers. 5m or 10m guys. Lets make them work for their b.s 😂
I really wish they would re_discontinue rares and if people started destroying them
1 day later and its down to 900k
Was 400k but went back to 900k prob go to 2m again
Inflation In Game & Inflation Irl
