The fact they were whining about being blacklisted after promoting pirating of Metroid Dread (the newest release of a series that has historically not been the best seller for Nintendo so all sales for Metroid are very important), and then going out of their way to write an article spoiling Tears of the Kingdom which would have gotten them blacklisted regardless is insane. They really think they're noble heroes fighting against evil by acting like spiteful children.

I remember prior to Xenoblade 3's release the guy that was assigned by Kotaku to review the game bitched on twitter that he wasn't given an early copy, because he wanted to "continue the time honored tradition" or whatever, of Kotaku giving Xenoblade the shittiest most uncomprehensive reviews ever. Only for the game to come out, for it to be amazing, and for said asshole to eventually relent and post a late review later that was positive when it wouldn't have been buzz to shit on it.
You definitely make a good point in saying that if Kotaku just stuck to their guns and didn’t care about what Nintendo said or did at all, then this situation would at least be slightly more understandable. But to complain about Nintendo blacklisting you only to then turn around and *then* make an article about major gameplay spoilers about leaks of their most recent game is hypocrisy at its finest. The gall that they have to call Nintendo unprofessional and yet do this crap mere days later…pot, meet fricking kettle.💀
And then another kotaku clown, compared the blacklisting to a Nazi oppression. I really hope this pick up enough for more AAA devs to blacklisting Kotaku as well.

Yeah I tried to give Tears of the Kingdom a fair shot. But it’s not for me. I don’t like the crafting system and I thought BOTW was just okay. I went in with an open mind but I just wasn’t having fun with it. I just chalk it up to $70 wasted now.
