We Aussies love breakfast/ brunch so if you order room service you’ll be given a choice of bread ypu toast yourself so it’s freshly hot. Hence the toaster. Great review. Many thanks. PS the uber luxe Capella hotel in the CBD is well worth a review.
It's wild they charge so much for a suite and yet don't offer any free mini bar, even soft drinks. There are plenty of great hotels in sydney with unlimited minibar for much less $
Yes, for the price of these kind of suites it should be included if paying the regular rate. However, maybe the people paying the high rate aren’t price sensitive about mini bar items 🤔. For free upgrades I can understand if it’s not included.
great video and review :) i live in tasmania australia and would love to stay here one day. i was just wondering if they have a spa/jacuzzi at either of the swimming pools? if no, is the pool really nice and warm? or is it on the colder side?
Was living in 2532 for 3 nights and bathtub pipe is so dirty😅 never have a chance to enjoy the tub until continuously draining water for more than three hours😢
Hi Josh I’ve loved your recent Australia trip of the Marriott Bonvoy hotels as I am from Australia. I have stayed at the W in Sydney also in a WOW suite complimentary upgraded. But I’m planning a trip to Sydney again next weekend and trying to decide what hotel to stay at in Sydney. Which one was the best in your opinion? Ive just completed nights 74 and 75 so will be titanium for the trip.
Thank you! If you’ve already stayed at the W. The only other hotel I liked was Pier One. It’s nice because it’s on the water. Walking distance to Opera House. They also give upgrade to wash bay suite if available, I would ask. Otherwise overall the Park Hyatt looks amazing but it’s not with Marriott.
Thanks for the review… I stayed with my family last November… and had some teething problems. They lost our luggage which was terrible as we needed to change for a show and didn’t get them till we got back that night. We should have just carried them ourselves. Also found out I was not the only ones… we also couldn’t access our car easily once it was parked. Had to Uber it that night. I Loved the bathrooms that shower was amazing. The beds were way too hard.. none of us slept well. Sofitel still has the best beds for me… We had planned on using the pool but it was always packed.. for so many rooms… only a handful of ppl got to use it… very disappointed. The service was great but they were very unorganised. Definitely need to hire more staff .. with these prices they should be able to afford it. Loved the starry ceiling theme… As brand new it felt exciting… Hope it dates well.
It totally is a shame! They need more staff overall and they should all be trained to provide the highest level of service possible. Even with a lot of rooms, if you have enough staffing with kind attitudes service can be great.
Looks like you had some truly miserable weather for your stay. From your accent, I'm guessing you were a tourist here in Australia and I really hope you enjoyed your stay in our country. The area you are staying in (Darling Harbour) is going through a huge renovation so there's a lot of ugly building sites around there right now. That area was built as a 'gift' to Sydney to celebrate Australia's bicentenary. It was built in the eighties though, so it was looking very dated, hence the renovation. I believe the W in Sydney was built where the old Sega World amusement park used to be.
No. The W hotel is built where the old IMAX theatre sat. They have inluded an IMAX a part of the W complex but its screen is not as big as the old one. The site sit between a freeway and Darling Harbour so the width is relatively narrow. I think this has limited some of the design of the hotel. I walked through it once and found it quite claustrophobic. Darling Harbour is not the best Sydney view - main Sydney harbour is with the opera house and harbour bridge. They have tore down the old Darling Harbour shopping centre and are rebuilding it so the views will be quite ugly for the next year or so. I don’t think I would spend $2K for this room and view.
This guy actually gives useful, straightforward information... always good to see when he's somewhere on my list.
Thank you, appreciate the kind feedback 😄
That suite is really a wow suite and the hotel looks amazing.
Thank you, yes, this hotel really is incredible!!
But for 2000 dollars is too much.
Good review , i enjoy your videos and hope to have as much fun as you do have
Thank you for the kind feedback! I hope you do have as much fun! Are you planning to stay here at the W?
@@gogotravelwithjosh No , unfortunately , i speak in general about your reviews
I live right next door to this building. It’s nice to see the inside of it 😝
Wonderful review the hotel looks fab although $$ i want to try that pool too
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, the pool is awesome!

Hope you will be able to visit! I did not see any jacuzzi’s. When I went in the main pool in the morning the temperature was comfortable not too cold.
I’m on the bus 🚎 going to work and i always stare into the breakfast buffet level 😂 wondering what it is like inside.
Nice lol 😂. Yeah it’s a weird design right on the road. You will have to stop in some morning and have breakfast!
@@gogotravelwithjosh one day for sure , then i i can stare out the window watching the bus i normally catch go by 😜
Sounds like a great plan 🤣

ceilings look quite low for an expensive hotel 😊how tall are you?
$250 is really cheap. Even a Marriott courtyard in California costs over $200 here
Yes, seems like USD goes pretty far in Australia lately.
Thanks brother Joshua, following you closely
Thank you Innocent! 😊
I’m not sure if the room entrance is wow
It felt like an office for me
You’re right the rooms are all nice but not truly extreme wow

Hopefully, THIS TIME they opened the car door for him upon his arrival LOL.
They actually did, lol! The arrival was good!
@@gogotravelwithjosh YAY 🎉 well done W Hotel Sydney !
It’s a shame they spend all the money on the sparkly foyer and cool architecture and then forget about good service.
