Josh - spectacular video! Always look forward to Saturdays! Have you ever considered booking the STARS rate through a TA to get breakfast included and a $100 credit, even though Elite members don’t get it here.
Thank you! That is definitely a great option to book STARS rate through a travel agent to get perks. I have definitely thought about it but have not done so yet. If rates get too expensive usually use points. I’m definitely considering booking that way if I make it back to China hopefully next year as rates there in general are cheaper compared to the U.S.
In Delhi, India there is this ITC Maurya, which is a Luxury Collection by Marriott, and it is one of India’s best hotels! And there is a new Ritz Carlton coming up in Nashville in 2026!
Its beautiful! I also can see the pool from my apartment but Im an Oregonian, I constantly drive by and live on a high floor near by and it’s always empty. It’s been up over a year now, and is the highest building in Portland but with the inflation from the economy and everything sky rocking for Portland in the past 10 years putting a Ritz Carlton here was not a good idea.
Beautiful property. Curious, is this luxury hotel earthquake-proofed? Portland is known to expect a big one, like no joke BIG ONE. Thanks, we appreciate an emergency exit plan. 👍🏼
There used to be a really cool food cart pod in the lot where they built that hotel, it was part of what made portland cool and hip; I ate there many times. Also, none of the queers, artists Or weirdos that make portland a cool place that you'd want to go, to can afford to stay at it. It's like a huge monstrosity , destroying the very thing that made pdx a cool place to begin with. The food cart pod was a million times cooler and better for the city.
Yeah, except around the hotel is homeless tents, crazy meth heads, and crime. Not safe after dark around there! Portland went to hell post covid. Thanks mayor Wheeler!
Frankly, I'm underwhelmed. 4-star maybe, giving them every benefit of doubt. Even before Portland's disastrous downfall, I can't imagine building in that location. Nobody would go to Portland for the shopping, so why there? (Nordstrom and Mario's... that's all there is.) Portland is not a 5-star town. ..not even close. At least further south there are the arts district, museum, concert hall, restaurants, park, etc. I predict a high vacancy rate, negative income and diminishing amenities/quality, eventually shabby. This looks like a 5-star blunder to me.
Awesome video! Next time our family gets to the west coast; we will have to stay! This property looks amazing inside and out! 🎉🎉
Thank you! Yes, definitely add this one to your list- it is 100% worth a visit 💯

Debacle on whether to stay in Ritz-Carlton Portland or The Nines Hotel, depending on price and accommodation it is tough.
I've never heard someone say that The Nines is not a 5 star hotel???
Tbh, I couldn’t tell a difference of a toilet between 5 star or 2 star hotel in US 😂.
If it’s a heated & lit Toto bidet toilet, you will… HEAVEN. 😅
Find a wider variety of adjectives. . .beautiful is way overused. However I like your enthusiasm.

Egg specialty
Not a 5star property,in that classical or original concept.
What could be improved to make this a 5star property in your opinion?
@@gogotravelwithjosh TBH, the decor does not look luxe....particularly in your suite. Looks like 1980s dated.
Expessially is not a real word. It’s especially.

They are actually re-doing it I believe it’s just not open yet. It will be open right under or next to the Ritz.
$1,108 / night standard rate for this room type. I’ll stay down the street at a 4 star Marriott/Hilton property for $120
The Marriott waterfront is also very nice. Not luxury but I have also enjoyed staying there.

That does not sound good 😳
There's always someone who has to villainize and degrade while playing victim.
