Timing chain makes sense for my situation, but how exactly would I determine that? When I accelerate from a stop or slow-roll to accelerate, I get a momentary voltage drop, just the ABS indicator light flashes super-quick such that I almost miss it. Sometimes when I turn on the compressor, the car’s voltage drop is quite noticeable because the car experiences a momentary stall or stutter. The ABS indicator and Airbag/Restraint System indicator can flash as though you just started the car. I’m getting B1317, B1318, and B1676. There’s nothing wrong with the ABS, brakes clamp down like champs, there’s a good battery onboard and a one year-old alternator, grounds are good. Tests of the battery and the “charging system” all good with two different testers (Topdon & Autel). Engine has 277,000 miles and she’s still running, but with this “power” hiccup. One other anomaly, when this power issue manifests itself, I start hearing a whining sound that increases in pitch when I rev up the RPM and decreases when the RPM runs down…it almost sounds like it’s coming from a speaker, but the radio is fully disconnected, so perhaps that high-pitched noise is coming from the blower as it’s running. When there are no “power” issues (no flashing lights or shudders), there is no “whining” sound, everything runs fine. Seems to happen more in hot weather. So, electrical issue, instead of timing chain?
