He did an interview with Dianne Sawyer in his house. Lacey was missing at that point. The phone rang during the interview. He let it ring. Sawyer knew he was gulity right then. Anyone else who's wife was missing would have jumped up to answer the phone

It wasn’t Diane Sawyer, although she did interview him. The interview where he let the phone ring was with Gloria somebody from a local tv station. I think Gloria Gomez.
He is where he should be.
He converted the baby’s room to a storage room shortly after Laci “went missing.” He sold her vehicle before her body was found. Within a week after Laci “went missing,” he asked a friend of theirs, who was a realtor, about listing the house for sale. When he called Laci’s mother to see if she was there, he didn’t say he couldn’t find her. He said in that first phone call, “Laci is missing.”
He went “fishing” in the Bay with a fresh water reel, which was never unpackaged, instead of a salt water reel. He told some people he was going golfing and other people he was going fishing. He was not known to ever go fishing or be interested in fishing. He was always a golfer. He told his girlfriend this was the first Xmas he’d spend without his wife and she wasn’t missing yet.
These comments are just for starters. He is guilty. No question.

He was planning right from jump to kill her once he found out she was pregnant. Wouldn't be surprised if life insurance was a secondary reason.

I tried to wrap my arms around the idea that he was innocent. But, at the end of the day, the circumstantial evidence is too great to overcome. Occum’s razor. The “fishing trip” at a horrible time, on a horrible day, in a way too small boat for those waters. The affair. The lying about the affair and the lying to his affair partner about where he was and what he was doing. The fact that he walked around like a zombie claiming he was concerned and trying to find his “missing” wife. Look at Chris Watts. I would have never thought a dude like him could do what he did to his wife and daughters. But there you go.

His alibi boating in that spot was publicized in a press conference and then days after dive teams didn't find anything, her body was found somewhere else in the bay, even though water currents couldn't have taken her out there. He went fishing in the middle of the day with other people around. The water was too shallow to hide a body. His boat would have capsized from the weight of throwing a body into the water. He wasn't wet coming back. Witnesses say he acted normally and didn't see him put any large bundles into his small boat. He went to work and made phone calls and did paperwork afterwards. There were 11 witnesses who saw Laci walk her dog when it was established he was out fishing. There were about 7 missing pregnant women in the area, one of whom also was found with her hand and head cut off and baby missing. There was a pregnant woman about a mile away who was almost attacked by a group of evil looking men, but hid and called 911 the same day Laci went missing. There is even more evidence Scott didn't do it. The fact he apparently told his mistress she was dead is typical behavior of a cheater...trying to get pity and convince someone they're single. Also, she could have been lying about him saying that because she didn't want anyone thinking she knew he had been married when they were together.

@@graceg3250 What was released was Scott went to Berkeley Marina to fish. What was not released for almost two weeks was that he went out into the Bay and went three miles north of the Berkeley Marina to Brooks Island. The bodies washed ashore inland of Brooks Island. Experts in the Bay and the Tides say that is consistent with the bodies being put in the water at Brooks Island.
So several things, how did this new suspect know to go to Brooks Island to do this? If in fact they took the bodies to the Bay to frame Scott, how come the bodies did not wash up for several months later? If they wanted to frame Scott, wouldn’t they have put them someplace where they would be found fairly fast? Over the years the SPA’s have made up all kinds of reasons for this, none of which make sense.
Yes, the water was shallow but I think he got into the shallow water and pulled her from the boat and tied her to it. Then dragged her to deeper water and let her go. What people around - it was Christmas day - it was cold/windy - no one was there. There were no witnesses and the one witness who they keep mentioning, Yuri Faria ... ask for the source where Yuri Faria said he looked directly into Scott’s boat at the Marina. The A&E documentary made by Janey Peterson’s friend Shareen Anderson is not a source!!!!
11 witnesses who saw Laci - yet none were called to testify by the defense ... why? Because they all were considered not credible - they all contradicted one another in what they saw and the time they saw it. They also didn't match the time line the defense was trying to create. They would have proven to be more harmful then helpful to his case. The pregnant women in the area who were missing were proven to have no connection to this case - once they found Laci and her baby (meaning she was still pregnant and there was no evidence that anyone tried to remove the baby from her body) that no longer was a possibility. There is no evidence the proves he did not do it.
Scott was not arrested or found guilty because he was a cheater or lied about his wife being already dead when she was still alive. Amber Frye delivered the motive - the massive amount of circumstantial evidence (circumstantial evidence is still evidence) is what found him guilty. All of it points to Scott. The drug addicted burglars (who were poor and didn't even own a car) would have killed her on the spot or gotten rid of her to never have been found again. They would never have held her for a few weeks or a few days (for what reason) until they found out her husband went fishing and drove her 90 minutes away to frame him. Nor would they have weighed her down - they would have wanted her found right away so he could be blamed. If we are questioning why no one saw Scott in an empty Marina on Christmas day, how come we are not questioning why no one saw her on her own street getting abducted. That's because she was already dead. She was murdered sometime on 12/24 or early 12/25 in her home by her husband.

Amber was just a fling. Unfortunately one who he never thought would help the police. It looks like this is the last reach for innocence . My heart aches for Lacis family . What I do know is if my spouse went missing I would be all over the news pleading for them. Where was Scott ? I think this is all useless .
