    Find the DeWalt here: amzn.to/3jR1Pzw
Torque of TTC is working for Astro Tools who also make impact wrenches (air). TTC is not the only testing out there, always consider multiple sources when looking at a tool! There's rumors about a new 20V Mid AND high torque on the horizon. If those are anything like DeWalt's recent introduction, they should a force to be reckoned with.

My "hand dyno" has been impressed with my new to me DCF894, I brought mine to work to test it's mettle on heavy equipment and it has no problem taking off M24 forklift counterweight bolts with the XR 5ah battery. I'll add, the forklifts are decommissioned units from the NYC sanitation department and have tons of rust from constant salt exposure....so glad to see it tested, i might have to get myself some of those new 6ah batteries!

I got a DCF894 a few months ago, a little disappointed with the power despite how old it is. It was my first cordless tool, so it was my blood sacrifice to staying with Dewalt. I bought a DCD999 hammer drill that came with a flex volt 6AH battery. I decided to try it out in the 894 and wow, it made significantly more power than the 5ah XR. I have yet to even need to fork over the extra cash for a high torque, even with it being deployed in a tire shop most of the day.

Fact is that unless this is the first cordless power tool you are buying you are going to go with the brand you are vested in with ownership of batteries and chargers. Secondly, unless the tool you have is failing to remove whatever it is you are working on there would be no reason to replace it with a newer model with higher specs.

Any chance we can get more battery teardowns or a link to someone else who does? I don't have the video revenue to tear mine apart, I'd like to keep their warranty, but there's precious little documentation out there showing the bms boards, battery protection (what's the "cooling wrap" Skil brags about?), whether the protection circuits are in the tool or battery, etc. Saw a deal on Sata cordless tools recently (they apparently have a 18v drill driver and impact driver), with an interesting looking connector (looked like all the balance lines were brought out) and yet I could not find anybody else with a similar connector despite the fact it's almost certainly a rebadge or at least modified oem'd tool.

Can you test the Skil tools? I accidently got tricked into getting all of the ones I could on Amazon because if you get one , go all out because you have the batteries. I'm just a weekend user of tools but I'm really satisfied with the tools they seem to be really good (for weekend use ) tools.

Can't wait to see the MAC impacts tested. The batteries are 100% interchangable, and my drivers have told me that they're "stronger" but not more powerful. IE built to handle oil and grease better. Who knows.

    • @Biaanca5036
      @Biaanca5036 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

The cheaper brands yes(stanley, porter cable, blackDecker, and _(old obsolete SEARS era)_ craftsman) they all have the same 4-pin bus and it's just a matter of grinding or cutting up the battery/slot to fit. Fully compatible across the three brands.
Dewalt, Kyocera, and Mac are all dewalt-style 8-pin busses(5 above, 3 below)

I bet Dewalt is going to make a jump in the impact wrench space soon enough. With the new impact driver and battery tech for smaller and more powerful tools? Seems like Dewalt is throwing some punches to me.

Can always use more teeny tinies, gimme gimme!
The current batteries all have fat front parts that stick out past the front of the new drivers and it's about time they did something to make them smaller. A new class of compact batteries for an even tinier set of impacts is a very welcome addition!
Ryobi in Japan had the teeny tiny 9.9cm Bid-11XR for almost two years and It's probably why everyone in the West is scrambling to push out teeny tiny 10cm impact drivers now :) BUT I NEEED THOSE SMALLER BATTERIES. NO MORE CLOWN SHOES!

got the mac 894 with 2 4ah pretty sure its the same I am starting to experience a dislike for the torque limiter on my though kinda sticks when it shouldn't and I might a bearing going out in the snout of the impact. Just a dumb quick luber but seems like i should upgrade to the 2962-20 there are many times people have over torqued the lugs on pickups and the 894 just couldn't get them off with a fresh battery. Then I break out the klutch 47910 air impact i have that sees lots of line pressure ;) and rips them off in no time. well except when they are seized turned a subaru stud blue today before it snapped lol

You should get the larger one in a kit with the new 6amp battery to give new life to your 894. Imho I’ve seen the 899 as low as 199 on special including the battery that interchanges with the 894 for those times don’t need the big gun.

    Hey TTC,
I really appreciate you putting this video together; I was one of the rando's online requesting it.
I am genuinely shocked that the DeWalt finished "relatively" close to the Milwaukee Gen2. I have both of these impacts, and from a seat-of-the-pants dyno the Milwaukee really feels like it blows it out of the water in terms of power.
I know you can't (and probably more importantly don't want to) add a metric for how soon the power really comes on, because that's about the only thing I can think of that would explain the feel vs dyno numbers. It's almost like the Milwaukee has a diesel power band, and the DeWalt is gas; it'll make the power, but it's gotta rev etc.
Thanks again for putting this video together; really enjoy the channel. Congrats on the astro gig too. :)

    • @TorqueTestChannel

They aren't THAT close, it's just just somewhat closer with the bigger 21700 cell battery. Otherwise technically the DeWalt is closer to compacts that this M18 mid torque.
