How are those Foglamp bulbs going to hold up in the elements (rain, off-road, etc)? Seems like this leaves them exposed. Are you able to comment on how they’re doing?

Question....don't the 3rd gen's have reflector as opposed to projector headlights? I believe it's a big no no to have LED's in a reflector housing because it just scatters the light everywhere instead of focusing it like what projectors do. How many people have flashed you so far or did you aim your headlights lower? Thanks.

LED bulbs work in reflector housings, HID bulbs are not meant for reflector housings. LED bulbs are not meant for projector housings, but HID bulbs are. I've installed 100s of LED bulbs in reflectors and HID bulbs in projectors as well as comparing the light throw/cutoff/beam pattern while mixing them up. You can burn the reflector material up if your lights produce enough heat. Most LED bulbs have a heatsink and fan mounted on the back of the light to keep this from happening.

I've had LED in my 96 forever and never get flashed by oncoming.

Doesn’t the exposed wiring for the fogs make it more prone to weather issues? Water, dirt, sand, etc.

So when you put the dust cap on the headlight you covered the fan fins, isn't this going to make the bulb overheat and possibly burn out the bulb or melt the cover ?

The fans aren't completely covered, if at all. Plenty of breathability from the size of the holes I made. Thanks for watching!

I have an '01 Runner. Looks like they improved the housing assembly on the '02 and after tearing mine apart I understand why. Oh, and where did you get the steel skid plate? Ive been hunting for one...

Watching that last segment of your video, the light projection is a bit high. Is there a way to adjust that? Nice video by the way.

Thank you very much! I'm not sure if there is a way to adjust it, I no longer have the vehicle so I 'm not able to check that for you, hopefully another viewer can answer this for you. thanks for watching!

I was thinking about doing this to my car. Literally the same exact 4Runner in the vid helpful but I am still a bit sceptical if it’s even worth it

it was definitely a huge improvement over the stock bulbs however, its still better to use projector housings for anything other than halogen because of the light scatter. Our stock bulbs were so dim I had to upgrade them because we could barely see anything at night. I got rid of the vehicle before I could change the headlight housings though.

The Ronin Chronicle why did you get rid of your 4Runner? For a long time it was my dream to have one and finally became reality. Will never get rid of mine !

Be warned after adding LED headlights it will feel like you are driving by moonlight. Yes the lights appear brighter when you look at the car, but you may not be able to SEE obstacles in the road better. People think that a whiter light is better but you really need to know how your EYES operate. And, yes, I get flashed more often now with the LED bulbs. One thing that helps with the color is using the stock fog lights as they add some lower end color into the spectrum.

No HID or LED light kit should be installed into a reflector assembly. This is incorrect and puts out too much light in every direction. You need to install a projector before installing HID or LED bulbs.
