I cannot express how handy it’s been to have a “emergency” car tote. Filled with small bags of chips, sun screen, blankets, clothes, and a jacket. Just for times like that. For a family emergency or need to go someone with no warning. That way you have a small start to what you might need to grab to shave time off getting in the car.
Yes. During the summer I keep our swim stuff in the car for the off chance we will find a fun splash pad to go play in or who knows what. And the swim bag has everything from diapers and hair things to meat sticks and fruit snacks as well.
I have many to-go bags. One for the park/splash pad/beach/pool. One for classes (music/dance) and I have them for work and the gym. It’s SUPER helpful! And a large purse with snacks and bandaids, sensory toys…did I mention I don’t have kids…this is just for me LOL. I have a little nephew and when he says Aunty Mandy let’s go beach I say…let’s go!
Preparing for the beach is a manifestation of an anxiety reducer. If we don't have something our kids need/want, we get stressed out. The preparing is fine
Colleen-my husband and I parent differently too, similar to how you and Erik are. A great tip I have learned and love to do is I keep a box of “emergency” stuff in the back of the car for the kids…so extra change of clothes, jackets, blankets, diapers, socks, shoes, a few toys and even some snacks that won’t go bad quickly. This way I’m more prepared for those very spontaneous trips with the kids. Hope this helps you! It’s helped me SO much! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
TTQ: Hi, are you gonna put Maisy in some of your childhood dresses? I just re-watched the "trying on my baby clothes video" in which you mention maybe passing on some outfits to your future daughter. Would be such a wholesome moment! Love from Norway
I just love seeing you be a mom. My parents were not that involved or imaginative with us. I would have killed to have a mom that constantly makes their world so fun and exciting. Those kids will never doubt that you guys love them and that so beautiful
The clip of Flynn and Maisy running on the beach was so cinematic and serene and it instantly put a smile on my face which was very much needed after a long hectic day. I'm so grateful for your vlogs ❤
I live on/near Lake Erie, and have always collected rocks and sea glass, but never did anything with my findings. After watching you for a while (5 years now!), you’ve inspired me to get a tumbler and it is supposed to be delivered TOMORROW! In the last few months I have gotten closer to a few coworkers of mine who I found out also beach comb and tumble rocks. Living near the Great Lakes is pretty cool, and I’m currently planning a summer road trip to see Lake Superior, Michigan, and Huron for the first time!
Literally the cutest thing in the world watching your pirate adventures. You are such great parents for being so creative and imaginary with your kids ❤️ it’s a joy to watch
This video reminds me so much of the bluey story/episode “the pool” it has been my kids favorite bedtime story this past wee or so and its literally what you are describing! Bluey, Bingo, and Dad learn that sometimes the “boring” stuff (like sunscreen) is important too to have fun.
TTQ: When you were preparing for the beach trip and mentioned that Erik was so chill about it, it made me wonder if he takes the twins somewhere by himself if he brings all that stuff, or if he manages without it?
Coleen as a suggestion for handing your least favorite activity. I gave all my kids those square shelves with cubbies as a dresser. Put pictures of what type of clothes go in each one shirt, pants, socks etc. Then give each kid their basket of clean laundry and have them put them away. No folding needed. I did the same with toys. Then at the end of the day each one gets a special treat or sticker etc for doing their job. Maybe this would help you out.
Not a ttq but when I watch colleens vlogs, she honestly inspires me to be a better mom with how she is so hands on with her kids/plays with them/crafts...etc she reminds me of those moms on tv shows that everyone usually hates initially upon meeting because of pure jealousy. She just seems like such a great mom and as a single mama with a 4yr old and with no help, I look up to how she interacts with her children on her videos xo
Fun fact about Miss Daisy. Cats are SUPER intellectual and spiritual creatures. I bet you that she feels the energy switch / mood change when you start to vlog!! She can feel the comfort and familiarity inside of you shining out. You’re a natural creator and she feels that energy from her past with you and she’s connected to you in such a special way. You can see that she enjoys the camera. Just like her incredible momma does ❤❤❤❤❤ we love her and you!!!!
It just warms my heart to see the twins go from laying in the NICU covered in wires to seeing them run on the beach with the biggest smiles on their face!! 🥹🥰❤️
There's no way that that shot of Flynn running across the beach at the seagulls and them flying away wasn't a core memory formed for Flynn that he'll cherish forever and ever
TTQ: can we get more cooking with colleen? In love with the honey mustard chicken AND blueberry goats cheese chicken from quarantine and would love to see what else u can do! 🖤🖤🖤
I think the whole beach packing thing just shows the difference between a mother and father. Like all those things would actually make the experience easier.
Your explanation of what goes on in your head vs. Erik's was literally the definition of how a mom thinks vs. how a dad thinks. 😂 Also, omg you can do accents so well!
Since you go to the beach so often you could make a to-go bag like for music or dance class. It’s just the beach bag instead of the dance bag. It makes going quickly much easier as it’s all in one place. My mom did that and I am sure it’s because she had ADHD. You remind me of her. You try so hard to be the best mom. It’s so beautiful. But unlike my mom you are working on yourself and your kids will only be better for that. I feel like my inner child has been totally indulged by you parenting your kids as that who my mom should have parented me…but I built amazing skills because my mom allowed me to fail and try again. You do a great job. ❤
TTQ: you always talk about your nanny and I’ve wondered if she is live in with you or just comes during the day or only a few days a week etc. I used to want to be a nanny but I became a teacher instead ❤
HI Colleen, I love the pirate ship stuff. So creative. I understand how you are about going to the beach or anywhere without notice when Erik wants to do it. I learned to always have a bag packed for my kids. Clothes, snacks, shoes, blankets what ever I thought they would need. I was always ready to go and when I got home and unpacked the bag I would put in fresh clothes etc. Maybe this could help you. It worked for me. Hugs and blessings
You just made me think of how much easier would be to drill through resin to make a hole then it would be drilling through a rock. If she put like essentially a small flat rock or flatish rock into a resin mold and then the top of the resin mold she literally like drilled a hole and then put like one of those metal loop things through it and then she can essentially put it on a necklace and then wear the rock resin around her neck which would be a cool idea. Another idea. Drill at the top and the bottom of the resin and then use those metal loop things to make like some hanging thing with resin rocks. You can even put sea glass in the resin and that would be cool also. Or like some sort of resin art picture with sea glass or rocks or both that would take a lot more resin.
I'm getting induced tomorrow and I'm freaking out!! I had my daughter 12 years ago and now I'm having a boy!! So nervous but so so excited!!! Wish me luck!!!
TTQ- flynn has some pretty impressive pitch recognition for his age!!! has he expressed any interest in singing/music and/or would you teach him at all as he gets older if he’s interested?? i hope you see this. you’re such an inspiration ❤
TTQ: What’s your favorite crystal? Whats your least favorite? Whats a crystal that you don’t have, but really want one? My favorites are Labrodorite, Larimar, Opals and Rainbow Moonstone, although I like pretty much all of them. One of my favorite crystals is my pink calcite that glows red under a UV light.
There is no judgement here, but I've never understood the hate of laundry. It is one of my preferred house chores because I can throw a load in and walk away and say I'm doing laundry. Then when it comes to folding, I sit and watch tv while folding which makes the whole process more bearable. I guess we all just have those chores we hate.
Welcome back, Vlarch! Vlarch 2020 is when I first started watching you ❤ I have kids the same age as yours, just a few months off of yours! A 5 year old (birthday today!), and my other kiddo turns two next month!
This is such a fun vlog! I love the pirate hat craft and the pirate ship moment! Adding that plank was so clever and it worked really well when Maisy got out of the ship.🤩
I 1000% understand how you feel about having to pack 1 million things before you go somewhere when you have children! 😂 My nanny help me with that whole transition by starting a bag that is always packed for certain occasions so the bag is already ready to go with some snacks, waters extra clothes, extra shoes, and any other things that you can think of adding that you need for most outings. So it might be a good idea to prepare a beach bag for you and the kids! And then when you guys get home, you just re-pack anything that you used you so you’re always ready for the beach! Your favorite place!!! ALSO HATE LAUNDRY! And mom laundry is different💯 Also TT: how are you doing mentally?? You seem like you are a shining brighter as you get back into your rhythm of vlogging! We really missed you on break! But you and those babies always come first!❤
TTQ: After having babies have you ever experienced mom guilt. I am recently learning that this is something moms deal with, especially as there kids get older. Love watching your videos. Glad to see you back :).
Oh I love folding laundry. I worked retail for years when I was younger and got really good at department store folds. I still do it just out of habit in my own dresser. There’s times when I see messy piles at stores and fix them while I’m shopping which my friends make fun of me for 🤣
omg same!! i LOVE folding clothes in stores i don’t work at lol, i still fold my clothes the retail way and everyone always points it out like “it doesn’t have to be that perfect” 😅 i don’t even try, it’s just subconscious at this point lol
Colleen! I live by wool dryer balls. They help speed up the drying process and reduce static. This might be helpful for you when you’re doing a million loads of laundry ❤
Tortilla talk question? Are you ever going to do a house tour? I know you said when you first moved there you wanted to wait untill the house is clean but with 3 toddlers that's nearly impossible for anyone. We don't judge you we love you for who you are!!
Idea!! Keep a beach bag ready with most of the stuff you need when bringing the kids to the beach! That way you can grab and run!! You have such fun with your kids! Love your ideas and how you interact with them!
Tip: store your clothes in little baskets and skip the folding, just put it in not folded. Most clothes today are made in a material that is fairly wrinkle free so you really don't need to fold it
I’m watching this while current eating homemade chocolate chip cookies! The perfect night! Thank you Colleen for allowing my anxiety brain to turn off for 10-15 mins every night!
Describing the differences in mentalities before you leave the house sounds...a lot like the difference between mom things and dad things lol i'm always the one that has to think of the 'go kit' and all the things we need or may need or could need or will need if i forget it and could need this and oh no might get hungry and need the med kit in case somebody loses a finger lol whereas he's just shoes on out the dang door lol :D
recently i learned about Japanese glass floats that some people have found and thought it would be really cool if Eric ever found one now that hes into sea glass they are just glass balls basically that were used for fishing nets back in the day on japanese fishing boats
Random idea but I love watching you bake, and I think it'd be so fun if in a vlog you bake something while answering tortilla talk questions! And you could also show us how to make whatever you bake, even if it's just simple cookies
TTQ: Colleen, I'm curious exactly what you look up on your phone when you're playing songs on the piano? I've played the piano for 13 years but I always just play piano/vocal/guitar sheet music. Could you show what you read when you're playing the piano?
@09:24 Am I seeing a 2nd washer & dryer set??? Your walking from switching over laundry on a washer & dryer that are side by side, maybe in a closet or behind closet type doors, then as your walking & talking about the all the chores that come as a result of doing laundry, I SPY A FREAKING STACKED WASHER & DRYER!! That is luxurious!! I’d kill to have my laundry on the first or send floor of our house, because I use not wanting to lug the laundry down to the basement as 1 of my favorite excuses as to why I haven’t done my laundry, so having 2 freaking set up’s within the living space of your house… GET OUTTA HERE RICHIE RICH!!!! Haha just kidding about the Richie Rich, but boy oh boy that must be AMAZING!!!
TTQ: what part of You're and Eric's relationship has changed and evolved the most that it surprises you? For my relationship it's how cuddly my partner has become. He wasn't the very touchy kind of guy when I met him and now he'll roll over in his sleep so he could cuddle me closer, before when I would ask for some cuddles He would kind of make a grown sound before he would oblige. 😅❤
I love that you made a cardboard pirate ship. My uncle made one for my siblings and I when we were kids and it’s such a special memory! In our heads/memory the ship was huge but I recently saw a picture and it was about the size you made 🤣 your kids will think that is the coolest thing and have amazing memories 🏴☠️❤
Hi Colleen, this is not a tortilla talk question but something I wanted to share with you. My name is Lyn and I have been watching your channel since I got a traumatic brain injury in 2008, so whatever you have posted I have watched in extreme pain in bed, in hospital, at my parents when I needed help caring for myself, I never missed a video. You have inspired me as a Mom even though my kids are 23 and 19 and watching you try new things has kept me entertained and believe me I have cried along with you in your videos. This new rock phase makes me want to do it but I don't live by the sea! Those babies of yours, all 3, I love to watch them as it takes me back to when my kids were little like that and before I was disabled for life, I would play with them the way you do and Flynn and my son are 2 peas in a pod. Love all of you thank you for all the effort you put in for us, you literally help my life every single day. hugs!!
Maybe you could make an emergency beach bag to keep in the car so when Eric says “let’s go right now” you don’t have as much to pack? Like a doomsday bag but for fun beach adventures!
When Colleen was talking about her adult to child ratio I immediately thought of my sister who works in child care and has a ratio of 1 adult to 3 child.
I also hate doing washing, folding and putting away is so much effort 😂 so I just chuck it all in a basket and put it upstairs where no one else sees it 😂😂😂
TTQ: Do you think you will travel while the babies are young? Or when they get older do you want to take them to all the places you have gotten to tour/visit.
TORTILLA TALK: hey Colleen!! I've been a loooong time viewer/fan of your whole family!! I don't have a question but we need some more Grandma Gwen in the vlogs!! I miss her! Also, let Maisy and Wes vlog for a day to see what they capture!! Love you and your whole fam!! So glad you're back ❤
It would be cool if you pre pack a beach duffle or knapsack, always ready to go. Then maybe make a laminated checklist, that has items like waters and snacks. Just get a dry erase marker, that way you can reuse the checklist! I’m very Type A personality though, lol! 😅
Eric and most men/dad don’t think it’s important to pack and prepare for going out with the kids because they never do it so they don’t understand how crazy it can get. Let him go out with even just one of the kids alone without any snacks or diapers without them having a nap or lunch first and see what happens. I bet he’ll never do it again and I bet he will pack and prepare next time. It sucks that we as the woman/mom are always stuck with the responsibility of “doing everything” but also I think we do it to ourselves. We know that when we do whatever it is it will go smoother. Sometimes we have to let go and let the chaos happen so our partner learns what it’s like.
TTQ: have you seen any of the videos of mudlarking on TH-cam now that you’re an avid beachcomber? Some of the ones specifically in London are so cool because it’s such an old city and the river has so many interesting treasures from history. Highly recommend!
Random question: Anyone know what the Tool Flynn uses as a paddle/sword in the cardboard pirate ship is? I can't figure out what it could be used for...
TTQ: Can you do an updated reaction video of the twins psyche reading? You mentioned doing it a few videos back and it got me really excited. I’ve never really been into it but it’s cool to see you do it this way. Thank you!
My question would be living where floods, earthquakes or fires can happen, why don't you have go bags for each person? That go bag can be for a trip to the beach or God forbid a disaster?
The fact that some parents don’t even play with their children and the way you go above and beyond is amazing. You guys are amazing parents.
Preparing for the beach is a manifestation of an anxiety reducer. If we don't have something our kids need/want, we get stressed out. The preparing is fine

VLARCH is back!!!! I absolutely love that she made it the intro.
I love you, Colleen
TTQ: Hi, are you gonna put Maisy in some of your childhood dresses? I just re-watched the "trying on my baby clothes video" in which you mention maybe passing on some outfits to your future daughter. Would be such a wholesome moment! Love from Norway
Love Mondays because we miss you over the weekend!!
I just love seeing you be a mom. My parents were not that involved or imaginative with us. I would have killed to have a mom that constantly makes their world so fun and exciting. Those kids will never doubt that you guys love them and that so beautiful

Coleen as a suggestion for handing your least favorite activity. I gave all my kids those square shelves with cubbies as a dresser.
Flynn as a Pirate is such a vibe lol 😂❤
yes Jack sparrow movies pirates of tne carribbean
😂😂😂 right
This comment made me audibly laugh out loud. You’re so right… Pirate Flynn is SUCH a vibe 😂❤
I agree
There's no way that that shot of Flynn running across the beach at the seagulls and them flying away wasn't a core memory formed for Flynn that he'll cherish forever and ever
TTQ: can we get more cooking with colleen? In love with the honey mustard chicken AND blueberry goats cheese chicken from quarantine and would love to see what else u can do! 🖤🖤🖤
Oh the pigtails! Stinking extra cute today❤
I think the whole beach packing thing just shows the difference between a mother and father. Like all those things would actually make the experience easier.
Maisie is absolutely adorable with those little bow pig tails!!!
HI Colleen, I love the pirate ship stuff. So creative. I understand how you are about going to the beach or anywhere without notice when Erik wants to do it. TTQ- Are you familiar with resin art? You should arrange your rocks and set them in resin so you can display/hang them up
Thank would be awesome! I would totally do it for free. I love resin art and I have a small business where I sell my stuff 😊
I was thinking the same like when she makes a heart out of them!!
Even better she can get bangle molds and make bangles/bracelets
Yes and stone stacking!!!!
I'm getting induced tomorrow and I'm freaking out!! I had my daughter 12 years ago and now I'm having a boy!! So nervous but so so excited!!! Wish me luck!!!
All the best mama ❤
Good luck! ❤❤❤
Best wishes to you and your family! 💕
TTQ- flynn has some pretty impressive pitch recognition for his age!!! has he expressed any interest in singing/music and/or would you teach him at all as he gets older if he’s interested?? i hope you see this. you’re such an inspiration ❤

TTQ: After having babies have you ever experienced mom guilt. I am recently learning that this is something moms deal with, especially as there kids get older. Love watching your videos. Glad to see you back :).
Okay. So we are getting pandemic March. I LOVE IT! Thanks to someone who made her react on her pandemic vlogs. The nostalgia!!!
I SCREAMED when I heard that intro… my mom was all the way on the other side of the house and was so concerned she came to check on me
11:15 you did not just try to show me a potato and pass it off as a rock 😂
Oh I love folding laundry. I worked retail for years when I was younger and got really good at department store folds. I still do it just out of habit in my own dresser. There’s times when I see messy piles at stores and fix them while I’m shopping which my friends make fun of me for 🤣

okay why is no one talking about the PIRATE HAT STATION?!?!? literally so creative and cool
The intro brought back so many memories!!!
9:37 about the laundry omg me to girl. Laundry is my least favorite and most slacked on chore 😅
Yay, the Vlarch intro is baaaack!! 🫠
Colleen! I live by wool dryer balls. They help speed up the drying process and reduce static. This might be helpful for you when you’re doing a million loads of laundry ❤
The whole pirate play was really fun to watch ❤
Tortilla talk question? Are you ever going to do a house tour? I know you said when you first moved there you wanted to wait untill the house is clean but with 3 toddlers that's nearly impossible for anyone. We don't judge you we love you for who you are!!
Strong Agree! Washing, can do. Drying, can do. Folding and putting away? That's where the whole process falls down
Putting laundry away is the worse! I don’t like unloading the dishwasher either lol
That Alice in wonderland shirt is so very Colleen lol. I love it!
Idea!! Keep a beach bag ready with most of the stuff you need when bringing the kids to the beach! That way you can grab and run!!
You have such fun with your kids! Love your ideas and how you interact with them!
I love watching your family play together. More families should do this!
Love what the kids call an octopus 😂 my niece calls it an “eye puss”
TTQ WHAT KIND OF WILD ANIMALS DO YOU HAVE ON YOUR PROPERTY? Ever see Anythjng interesting?
TTQ: Do your kids still play with the buttons and magnets on the wall that you had put up?
Vlarch!! 😂
So glad you used that intro song 🎵 😊
Describing the differences in mentalities before you leave the house sounds...a lot like the difference between mom things and dad things lol i'm always the one that has to think of the 'go kit' and all the things we need or may need or could need or will need if i forget it and could need this and oh no might get hungry and need the med kit in case somebody loses a finger lol whereas he's just shoes on out the dang door lol :D
It's called the unfortunately phenomenon where women just carry more of the mental load.. and it sucks.
Yeah, moms are usually the ones with the mental load and dads get to be the fun spontaneous ones who are used to someone else taking care of that...
recently i learned about Japanese glass floats that some people have found and thought it would be really cool if Eric ever found one now that hes into sea glass they are just glass balls basically that were used for fishing nets back in the day on japanese fishing boats
The smiles while ur doing laundry 😂😂😂
The kids slow mo running 🥹 definitely going to be gold to watch years down the road. So precious. ❤
There’s something called kin keeping I think which is what you described and is the way that mums take on all of the family’s stress basically x
Colleen, I just have to say.. I'M LOVING YOUR HAIR...
Laundry tip, separate each persons clothes in their own pile before you start folding them. Makes it a little more bearable with a big family! 👚🧦👕
Love all of you thank you for all the effort you put in for us, you literally help my life every single day. hugs!!
TTQ: Why have you never been very interested in driving? Did you have a bad experience or has it just never been your thing?
Maybe you could make an emergency beach bag to keep in the car so when Eric says “let’s go right now” you don’t have as much to pack? Like a doomsday bag but for fun beach adventures!
TORTILLA TALK Q: When you're rock tumbling, do you listen to anything or do you prefer silence?
Daisy walking by the camera for the next merch 🤩🐾
When Colleen was talking about her adult to child ratio I immediately thought of my sister who works in child care and has a ratio of 1 adult to 3 child.
I say again. It's so appropriate for Colleen to have a house with a stage.
I also hate doing washing, folding and putting away is so much effort 😂 so I just chuck it all in a basket and put it upstairs where no one else sees it 😂😂😂
TTQ:
Do you think you will travel while the babies are young? Or when they get older do you want to take them to all the places you have gotten to tour/visit.
Maybe you could have a bag made up for the kids that’s ready to go places and that way you only need to pack the water and snacks at the last minute x
ILove Mommy and Flynn play!! MAGIC 🎉 It's only two besties living their best life.Woo!
I just started yelling VLLARRRCHHH!!!! 😂🫶🥰💜
VLARCH !!!!!!! Colleen was and still is my favorite part of the day. Laying down at night and watching Colleen is so fun
the introooooo and the fact that I know every wordddddd : )
Love the opening song Colleen, I love it. Good evening. Flynn is growing up! Love the slow motion of the seagulls at the beach. The rocks look great!!
TTQ: have you seen any of the videos of mudlarking on TH-cam now that you’re an avid beachcomber? Some of the ones specifically in London are so cool because it’s such an old city and the river has so many interesting treasures from history. Highly recommend!
I love that beach you've got !!
Random question: Anyone know what the Tool Flynn uses as a paddle/sword in the cardboard pirate ship is? I can't figure out what it could be used for...
I too, like / need to be prepared. For me. But especially with kiddos. Cause their like..discomfort tolerance is so low.
yay!! vlarch!!!
Are you burnishing your rocks after polishing? I heard this helps their gloss come out
TTQ: How did you learn to play piano, sing, etc. Did you take lessons or did it just naturally develop at home?
TTQ: what are the top 3 places you’d like to go with Erik and kids for a vacation?
