Colleen, you had a migraine hangover! It’s a real thing and the last stage of a migraine before you feel like yourself again. I get those if I’ve had a bad migraine the day before. I’m sorry, migraines suck!

    TTQ:
COLLEEN! You always talk about how the twins favorite song is happy birthday, but have you ever made the connection that you found out their genders on your grandpa's birthday, they were born on Bailey's birthday and Wesley came home on Flynn's birthday? Not a question, but NO WONDER THEY LOVE HAPPY BIRTHDAY SO MUCH ❤❤😂🎉

i live with these migraines. my are chronic so i’m basically feeling like this every day of my life. it’s terrible. try soaking your feet in the hottest water that you can stand. even if it burns your feet-it will release some pressure in your head. i hope you feel better! i love you🩷

I usually have a super hot shower but with the water just on my body, and a cold pack on my head at the same time 😂 I thought I was insane because it actually works

Does the hot water cause blood to gotowards the heat therefore releasing the pressure in the head? I'm so intrigued

I’ve had brain cancer twice and I always get really bad headaches because I’ve had brain surgery, especially when the barometric pressure changes. I used to get Botox injections for migraines and then my insurance changed and now I take sumatriptan and I have to take an anti nausea pill because the sumatriptan makes me sick to my stomach but it’s the only thing besides the Botox that’s ever worked.

Hey Colleen. Chronic migraine sufferer for 25-30 years. I wake up at 3 am often. My recipe to help is to take Advil (with a small bite of food) with some caffeine And. My secret weapon is a HOT SHOWER. The heat loosens the muscles in your neck and shoulders. So helpful. Stretch your shoulders and back. But heat on your neck and shoulders a must 😊

Migraine tips- take Excederin Migraine (helps so much) especially if you take it when symptoms are starting; drink plenty of water: avoid screens and even reading books (listen to audio instead if you’re bored); lie down in a dark room; cool cloth on forehead; hope that sleep and time makes it go away!

I suffered from migraines for years before my doctor finally prescribed a rescue med called Sumatriptan.
I suffered several more years before a neurologist finally prescribed a daily preventive medication called Propranolol.
Doing much better now but occasionally still get them and need to take the rescue med for a few days.
Mine are usually like a knife going through my right eyebrow area. I also get nauseous.
I have also had the "exploding eyeball headache" once. That was terrible too. I think it was a Tylenol rebound headache after having some dental procedures.
I'm glad you're feeling better, but if you get migraines pretty regular, please don't suffer for years unneccessarily like I did.
You can ask your doctor for migraine meds right away. Preventive and rescue meds are available.

It could be allergies. Or a sinus pressure headache or an ocular migraine. Most of the time Tylenol isn't strong enough you'll need to take something for migraines or sinus pressure and certain lighting can sometimes make it worse. They suck.

I use anti rheumatic patches on my sinuses when the migraines come along... and I take Paracetamol (500mg) and sometimes need ear drops too. Cause mine are either triggered by menstrual hormones, or the sinuses, the otitis and the throat irritation from allergies make a common front and screw me over. And they make my head feel heavy and I get dizzy and trip all over the place. And you know the major factor in the non-menstrual migraines? Freakin' weather. If it's about to rain, I know before everybody cause my head hurts, and it lets up when it starts to rain or snow.

I suffer with migraines often. They’re so bad that I usually throw up because of the pain. I usually just sleep and I’m okay, but currently i’m dealing with a sinus infection, so I’m getting them around my eyes currently going down my face, it’s awful. Just try and rest as much as possible and drink plenty of fluids, if no progress, get in contact with your doctor.

I’ve had migraines since I was about 3 or 4 years old. Exedrin really works for me. But if I catch it too late, I try to press a pressure point. I always squeeze the bridge of my nose. That one helps relieve the pain. But other than that, I’ll just lay in a pitch black room or a really dark room with no nose.

I suffered severe migraines w/projectile vomiting for years; pain so intense, I'd be bedridden for days. In addition, EVERY TIME I HAD ONE, my emotions would absolutely tank; severe depression and overwhelming sadness. I had to keep a big sign by the bed - "Don't make any decisions about any situation if you're having a migraine".

I had to work with a functional medicine practitioner for my headaches. Medical doctors never helped. I would be in the ER with panic attacks and horrific nausea from the pain. You feel crazy. I'm a different person now. I'm a better mom and wife. I can't believe I lived like that for so long. She got my vitamins and hormones balanced and did a test to find out which foods I was sensitive to that would inflame my body and destroy my immune system. It's a whole thing, but thank GOD I found her. I love her so much 😭

Chronic migraine girly here. The ONLY thing that works for me is Excedrin and as a Canadian, I can’t even get it here. The only thing I can do during a flare up is lay in a PITCH BLACK room with NO NOISE. The following days after a flare will consist of nausea, extreme tiredness and just being sore everywhere in general. Try hot or cold compress over your eyes, depends on the person.

Def go to the eye doctor just to check. It’s super common to have a migraine behind/above/around the eyes which isn’t caused by an optical issue- but sometimes! Could be worth just a usual eye exam to see.
If it ever becomes piercing to where you literally cannot take it, go to the ER.

    Hello Colleen and Eric,
One of my friends gave me some of her Mom's collection of vintage vases, trays, candle holders, etc. Some of them are Uranium. I didn't even know till about a year ago that you can take a black light to the Uranium items and they sort of turn a different color and glow under a black light. Using a black light is how you check for Uranium glassware. That is so cool, like a cool little secret.
Have fun in your fun adventures. Thank you for sharing your videos.

I found out I was allergic to NSAIDS because I had unbelievable headache pain, body aches and a low grade fever for days after taking Motrin, then again when I took Ibuprofen. Took the doctors a while to figure it out. My symptoms mimicked viral meningitis. I also had menstrual migraines that started a couple days before my period when I was in my 30’s and 40’s. Being a woman is hard! I hope you figured it out and are feeling much better! ❤️❤️❤️

my mum and i suffer from migraines often - especially my mum who gets them in clusters where she will have a constant debilitating one for 1-2 weeks and some things that help us is a cold ice pack on the back of your neck while laying in bed. aspro-clear, its a type of medicine that is the only thing that helps my mums migraines, she takes it as soon as she starts to feel one or as a preventative if she knows her trigger such as loud noise is happening (for you it might be if your having a rough emotional day.) don't look at your phone as much as possible cause the blue light actually makes it worse. SLEEP - sleep it off with that cold ice pack on the back of your neck. migraine hangover is also very common where your body is recovering you will feel so exhausted its horrible but you know that if u take it easy then you should be back to feeling yourself again. your not in this alone xx

I don't live with chronic migraines but I have a very rare occasions have felt migraines that hurt so bad in my eyes and makes me feel sick and sleepy. Sometimes migraines can make me feel nauseous with how bad my head hurts. Yes I went through what you're going through and I'm sorry you had to experience that because it's not fun at all whatsoever. It can ruin your day and make it feel like a huge bummer. On a very rare occasion when I do get these migraines usually mostly in the warmer months which though I've been told I could be getting them due to not drinking enough water which is very likely because I drink water during the warmer months all the time and even during the colder months a lot. Anyways going out in nature can sometimes make me feel better with that fresh either Ocean Air or or just the fresh air of like the trees and it's great.

I wouldn't wish that pain upon anyone! the best thing that helps me is a hot shower, sleep, and either a heating pad or ice pack depending on what your body wants haha. Excited to see your rocks and I hope the kids loved their goody bags! Their dance outfits were so cute!! I’ve had migraines for over 25yrs. I have been diagnosed with 5 different types. It sounds like you were in the hangover part of the migraine while on camera but sometimes, low sodium or potassium can be an issue. Try drinking some pickle juice or just taking a pinch of salt with caffeine. Anytime I travel, I get them. The smallest elevation change or barometric change, forget it!! I started taking vitamin D daily (it has to have coconut oil in the pill for your body to absorb it correctly) It has helped 70% of my migraines.

OH MY GOSH!! Tortilla Talk: I’m from Pismo Beach/Morro Bay. Morro Bay is definitely the best to find Sand Dollars. But the next time you go to Pismo Beach you HAVE to go to Inn at The Cove it’s a hotel but it has a hidden private beach. It’s one of the main beaches locals go to and you are just stepping on rocks/pebbles. It is amazing! And I always find so much sea glass there! Also Avila is pronounced (AH-VI-LUH)

  • @millipede00
    @millipede00 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Hi Colleen, I’m a Pismo native and the way you pronounced Avila the second time @3:09 was correct. The Av is pronounced like the word have, if that helps. You should check out Shell Beach next time you are in Pismo. The “sand” is more like tiny pebbles and there are lots of tide pools. It’s just north of downtown Pismo, right before the exit for Avila. But Avila is also my fave.

My migraines are typically on the left side of my face and always by my eyes and temples. I would get one 2-3 times a month. i get chills, cold sweats, no appetite, and end up getting sick. It usually takes me 24-48 hours to completely feel like myself again. come to find out, the birth control I was taking played a huge part in causing my migraines. once I stopped taking it, I haven't had one since.

I get severe migraines. Staying hydrated really helps. Also, the Walmart brand sinus pills that have Benadryl in them really help my migraines that are focused in my face a forehead. It’s more of a sinus headache, which can be extremely painful. If that doesn’t work, I move on to my migraine meds and do a combination of them. I’ve had so many that I know which combo will more than likely work. The thing that has helped me the most is I switched my migraine preventative from Aimovig to Emgality. Stay hydrated helps tremendously. I drink at least 2 Liquid IVs a day or I drink Biolyte, which is like an iv in a bottle. That had helped tremendously. Hope it goes away soon!!! I know how much they get in the way of living life.

hey! i suffer with chronic migraines in that exact spot. i mainly only get migraines directly behind my eyes. i know a lot of doctors recommended me getting my eyes checked , since straining your eyes all the time without noticing can cause these migraines. that wasn’t my case, so i just take an excedrin migraine and benadryl, and go to sleep. it usually works for these and let’s you wake up without feeling all the “sickness” side effects as well (: hope it helps !!

I got into thrifting and selling on eBay about a year ago and that's when I first learned about uranium glass. I now carry a small pen sized blacklight with me to check glass at the thrift store lol. I found a chip dip bowl at a yard sale last week that I just had a feeling would glow, my excitement when it DID glow was through the roof lol so I can definitely understand the excitement of finding uranium sea glass! I have sold some of my finds but I did keep a custard glass compote dish that holds uranium marbles.

I suffer with migraines SO bad. Here are some things I do- lay in a dark room with no noise at all. I’m not sure if the US sells things like this, but I use forehead strips here in the UK, it’s like a cooling gel strip for your head works wonders. I drink SO much water, as much as I can stomach. I have blue light filter glasses to wear when I have migraines, it’s the only way I can bare to open my eyes. I take pain killers back to back. I have migraines that last for days, and the whole body aches is a real thing!

Colleen. You need some grounding sheets. Maybe if you can spending more time grounding during your sleep it would help you feel better all around. Beaches are so rejuvenating to me for that reason. So nice to be grounded to the earth.

I remember when I was SO LITTLE (like 3 or 4??) every time my mom or dad were out of town for some reason, they would like hide presents around the house and do like clues to find them? It’s so vague in my brain but I remember it so vividly because it was so special and consistent in our lives and it’s probably one of my earliest memories. Flynn will definitely remember all of the special things you do 🤍

As someone who deals with TERRIBLE migraines very regularly, it will take me 2-4 days to recover from one. I won’t have a headache for more then 24 hours but I will still have the body aches, mind fog, ect for days after. Also not everyone has the same signs/symptoms as someone else who gets them as well. If your headache last more then 24 hours with little to no relief seek medical attention.

Colleen!! Not sure if you've done this already, but I highly recommend a trip up to Monterey, CA. Tons of good rock and seaglass spots and the Monterey Bay Aquarium is AMAZING for kiddos and so cool for parents too!! Seems like it might be a perfect getaway spot for y'all its only about a 4 hour drive from Santa Barbara :)

TTQ: I HAVE A ROCK QUESTION!! when you find rocks like the ones you found there that are mostly smooth and just need to be tumbled, do you pre-polish and then polish or just go straight to polishing? what about the ones that you’ve finished but aren’t quite as shiny as you wanted? do you pre-polish and then polish those or just go straight back to polish? i recently got into rock tumbling because you’ve inspired me and i’ve been a huge fan for over 10 years 🩵

COLLEENN!! I have had the same exact pain. One day i woke up and it felt like someone full on punched me in the eye. For the face pain id recommend nose spray and allergy medicine. For the body pain i recommend some stretching just simple to feel more stretched out.

If you put your thumbs on either side of your nose and push up on your brow bone it will help relieve the pressure to your superior sagittal sinus which is the biggest blood vessel to your brain. Hope that helps.

    I love you Colleen!
Your beach hunting vacay sounds terrific!
Your daughter looks like Cindy Lou Who.
The beaches were gorgina! The sea caves were fantastic! Were the round sea creatures with the green centers anemones?
Now that you have so much pirate glass you could try polishing it. Would polishing turn it into normal glass?
You seem exhausted. You need a good rest. Hair and makeup are not a cure for migraines.
May your life be ribbed for your pleash.
