I unironically love when NL tells me to imagine the video if it were edited. It's actually just as effective, maybe more effective, than actually editing.
velvet choker hard forces the 6 cards per turn rule that he does with the time keeper anyway and yet he's spending 80% of his mental energy worrying about it from the start of the 3rd floor
Honestly with getting Timekeeper, Velvet chocker is not bad at all. Of all the Silent builds, this might be the one where velvet chocker is actually not bad. At least it's not velvet chocker on a shiv build.
I'm going to be honest here, NL is pretty good when it comes to building a deck, sure, sometimes he doesn't add enough blocks or misjudges a card or another, but overall he is pretty good with his card decisions. The flaw (or perhaps the fun) are his terrible missplays 😂
Hard committing to a poison deck vs slime boss is pretty iffy and he got punished for it pretty hard. Don't think this deck would've gotten away with it on higher ascensions.
@SeeMyDolphin at higher ascension you can just hold out for one deck rotation for the catalyst and tank 1 hit from the boss slime to avoid the multiple hits from the medium slimes
Don't do this to yourself. He will randomly abandon ever taking the card again for no random reason as soon as his feelings tell him to. He plays this game with his brain totally off. Youre just setting yourself up for disappointment when he passes the greatest best laid plans of all time so he can't take whatever dog water card his feelings are fixated on at that time
@@willable2 No its the I was around the first time he made this game a series. And Dicey Dungeon...and Monster Train. He struggles with adding and subtracting single digit whole numbers and has a long history of brain offing his plays in games. Its just how it is and no 14 year old kid who speaks in memes is going to change that
I genuinely thought I had somehow rewinded the video on the second Spire Growth fight where he didnt block the last turn for the second time and says the exact same "WAHHH you gotta block those man!"
Thanks for getting me onto this game, NL. I'm trying to do 20 in Ironclad first, and the versatility is amazing. I've had strength builds (with subtypes of demon form or self-harm using the card that builds strength from cards that hurt you), block builds, debuff builds (using a card where debuffs damage opponents), and even a very successful curse build. My favourite was the curse build, it was great. Only on ascension 8 so far, but I did just get it yesterday. So cheers!
He's gotten so good he nerfs himself with Velvet Choker on a Bullet time+Art of war+Gremlin Horn +Mummified Hand deck+Centennial Puzzle. And the madman wins anyway!! Unbelievable.
The duality of his shops is mindblowing, sometimes he breezes through run-winning shops with >5 good products taking only a Dagger Throw and at others he correctly identifies that he's on that one out of 15-20 runs where Art of War is really potent and it ends up paying off. I think I'd still buy Orrery there but who cares, legit think that taking a minimum of 30 seconds with each shop he runs into is one of the more actionable pieces of advice for him out there because that's where rushing hurts you most. Shops good.
Bane is actually an incredible card for a dedicated poison deck. Even unupgraded it's 14 damage for 1; upgraded it's 20 for one energy. It's a slightly lower damage glass knife that doesn't lose damage each use and is at the common level.
I think the most significant change he can make for how tiny the actual difference in play is, is just knowing about the piercing wail during buff tech
I dont know if all of those Art of War plays were worth it, but it's nice to see him actually thinking for a change instead of instantly misplaying his hand and accidentally skipping relics without even noticing
Damn. This was very well executed. I think this is the first episode, where I don't think you made any large mistakes. And a poison build at that! Well plaid (plans)!
The biggest arc for silent progression for NL will be him realizing that he wants as many piercing wails as possible in his deck it is such a good card also bro complaining about always needing to heal while he chooses only paths with hallway fights like bro events exist lmao
