Love mine on my 6.7L. Here in Quebec we have -40F multiple time in the winter. This switch do the trick to keep my engine warm during these cold days !
Had one on my truck since basically new. Keep that dpf clean while idling on those hot/cold days when you're waiting for your kids to get out of school 🤙. Helps more on the hot days though to kick that fan up across the condenser. I don't keep it on for those cold remote start mornings though. High idle on cold start up makes the engine sound weird. Doesn't sit well with me. I let it idle for a minute and then kick it up to get the heat going. All personal preference I'm sure.

I had a few so called diesel mechanics at a few local dealers have no idea about increasing the idle speed and all asked why I would want to do that..? That's why I call them so called diesel mechanics. One of them I was told by a sales man was one of the top master techs in the state and region. That same tech asked why I would want to raise my stationery idle. I could not believe it. There are many reason. Seemed like he didn't even know that it's not good to low idle a diesel for extended periods of time. There are other reasons as many of us know. I ended up wiring it up myself with a potentiometer that stays in that kick panel and hooked up to the first up fitter switch. I wanted to keep them available for other accessories like job strobes or lights for job sites in the dark.

Thank you for this. 10 minute install. If that. Used 3M adhesive to install the bracket/switch below the 110v/12v near the passenger seat and coiled and zip tied the excess cabling behind the carpet in passenger wheel well. Easy as pie.
I used a resistor and a potentiometer to my Uplifter switch but if I want I also used a remote control on off switch for when I’m in the house so I can warm it up and not go out just hit remote start and the on off remote to the high idle. I didn’t remove the break thing because I liked it so just have to remember to use my parking break the night before. I also plug my truck into a smart switch that turns on the block heater 4 hours before I leave. It heats 50 degrees hotter than the cold ambient temperature outside. Fun project

On my 2012 I put A resistor in between the two wires under the steering column to make the truck think it had PTO. I used power from one of the Upfitter switches. It's been a few years now so I can't remember exactly what resistor rating was but I set it up so it idles at around 1200RPM for when I'm pumping fuel or jumpstarting a piece of equipment etc. I got all the information out of the Ford bodybuilder book at the time if I remember correctly. I would love to have this for my truck though this is way better I wonder if they have it for my year?
Love the video. How you practically use this. Would you set the dial to what you want before leaving vehicle for the day? then when remote starting it would rev up? Thanks in advance!

I’m having the same issue on my 2020… I’ve checked the supply voltage, the resistance, the e-brake switch. Everything looks good but it just doesn’t work. Did you ever figure out what was going on?
I keep a brick in my console. Just lay her on the pedal 😂 seriously though, don’t really need it down in Florida. I brought my truck to north Georgia shortly after I bought it and for some reason I remember it automatically high idle when it got crazy cold. Am I just imagining things?
I also use it when I run the truck a little harder than usual. I’ll let it high idle for 5-10 minutes so that everything that coolant runs through can cool down before shutting the truck off.
After installing this i got service advance trac, hill start assist not available. I looked at the switch and saw some of the wires were touching on the RPM control knob. Did it blow a fuse somewhere? I cant seem to figure it out
If you perform a manual regeneration does that process override the high idle switch? Or do you have to turn off the knob to the off position beforehand?
Doesn't plugging the new switch into the PTO Pigtail negate any future use of those wires in the pigtail? I have a 2019 F-350 XLT (without upfitter switches). If I take the pigtail out, I lose all these wires that go through the firewall for future use, such a CB radio. Am I missing something here?
