      I’m planning to secure the car for a longer review, as this was just a short drive. My goal is to provide a more in-depth review, showcasing all the features and conducting a range test to see how it performs compared to the claimed range. Make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss it when it comes out!

    What were the autopilot features like, if you checked them? I'm coming from a Tesla Model 3 and looking at Polestar 4 but I've heard that one pedal driving and autopilot isn't anywhere near as good as what Tesla has and that's a big concern for me. My test drive is later this month. The rest of the car looks fantastic though even if it is a lot pricier

      The “autopilot” features in the Polestar feel more like driver assistance rather than a full autopilot like Tesla’s. Tesla aims for a more ambitious, self-driving system, while Polestar provides helpful assistance. That said, Polestar’s system works really well-there’s less lane drifting, no phantom braking, and it stays active during manual lane changes. I will say the overall car feels nicer to drive and be in than the Model 3 and Y. The ride is smoother, and to me, the quality just feels better. But it’s a matter of preference.

    This car seems to pickup a lot of exterior noise, is that due to the mic being turned up for the video? I can hear tire noise and the turn signal is loud. Please share your opinion on how the vehicle rides, are the standard wheel/tire setup comfortable, firm or stiff. How does the vegan leather feels? Does it get hot in the sun? Thanks.

      The microphone in the video does amplify noises, so the actual driving experience is much quieter and smoother-similar to the Hongqi E-HS9. The turn signal is also much quieter in person, to the point where it can be easy to miss at times. It even blinks in the direction you’re turning, which makes it even quieter when turning right.
      The ride is very smooth, almost like you’re floating, especially between 90-130 km/h. This model didn’t have the active suspension, but I still found it very comfortable. I have a back injury, so I’m sensitive to rough rides, but this car felt great.
      The vegan leather feels more like real leather than what you find in Teslas. It’s got a good grip to it. When I first got the car, it had been sitting in the sun for a while, and while it was warm inside, it wasn’t unbearable. My Model 3 tends to get much hotter.
      By the way, I’ll be trying out the Mercedes EQE 350 today and comparing the ride quality. Stay tuned for that comparison-I think it’ll be interesting!
      Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions.

      @@ReKief Thanks for the response, that is good to hear bout the noise level and ride comfort. I like the performance version but, the range is more important now, which is why I’m considering the LR RWD version, if they bring it to Malaysia. Those 22” wheel/tire setup on the Polestar 4 looks large, but figure the 20” version might not be comfortable without adaptive shocks (like the Volvo S60 T5 Special Edition I had with low profile 19” wheel/tire setup). Might have to look at Zeekr as they are going to start with the X and 009 here, maybe next year we will see the 001 and 007.
      I sat in one with the Tailored knit in HK recently and I like the material, figure it would be the way to go for the high heat over here and with the Plus pack it will get ventilated seats as well. Looking forward to the new videos.

      @@waynerm002 I completely understand prioritizing range over performance-I’m the same way. The LR RWD would be my choice as well. I’m actually considering doing a range test on it soon to provide more accurate numbers.
      As for the 20” wheels, I think the adaptive shocks will make for a very comfortable ride, though I haven’t had the chance to test them yet.
      Zeekr is definitely an intriguing option, especially with their expanding lineup. I’m excited to see them arrive in Denmark so I can give them a thorough test.
      The Tailored Knit material is an excellent choice for high-heat climates. It’s breathable and comfortable, and with the Plus pack’s ventilated seats, you’ll be well-prepared for those hot days. I’m also eager to try out the massage function and headrest speakers included in the Plus pack.
      I’m looking forward to sharing more videos soon-stay tuned! If there’s anything specific you’d like me to cover, feel free to let me know, and I’ll do my best to make it happen.

      @@ReKief I was wrong, the Tailored Knit doesn't get ventilation, it's only the Nappa seats, at least not from the US configurator. Those seats may not need it. Also, no adaptive dampers on the US LR RWD version. There should have been a spec with a sport trim upgrade to get that suspension, with a choice to stay 20" or add 21" for a small charge. Even though I want long range, I still like a sporty feel to the car, when you want to have some fun and comfort for a more relaxed ride.
      I am tempted with the AWD version as it comes with the adaptive suspension. If they could have boosted the motor power to 225 KW and 406 Nm torque, while keeping the 300 mile range that would be nice. Maybe later they will do a Polestar tune to allow that.
      Maybe you can do a voice over after the drive to talk about the ride and other things in the vehicle, that would be helpful. Thanks.

    • @ReKief
      @ReKief  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@waynerm002 I noticed it’s the same for the EU market-ventilation is only available with the Nappa leather. While I’m intrigued by the adaptive shocks on the AWD version, the extended range of the RWD ultimately takes priority for me. It would be great if a Polestar tune could be offered later on.
      I've considered adding voice-over or dialogue during the drive to share my impressions more effectively in real-time. However, the audio quality of my current GoPro isn't ideal for capturing dialogue. I'm exploring better audio options to ensure that the listening experience captures the car's noises and sounds more authentically, closer to how they are in real life, while also ensuring that my voice isn't too overpowering due to the sensitivity of the microphone.
      By the way, the Mercedes drive video is up! I’ve included text dialogue during the drive to better convey my thoughts until I can improve the microphone situation.

    how good pilot assist is?

    • @ReKief
      @ReKief  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      It works great for what it’s designed to do. There’s less lane drifting, no phantom braking, and it stays active during manual lane changes. It does its job well as an assist.

    do i see the center mirror stutter multiple times when coming out of a corner, or does it change from wide angle when accelerating or something?

      You're right. The rear view display does occasionally stutter, which can be a bit disorienting when you see everything behind you glitching.

      I really hope it’s more of a software issue than a hardware one because it can be quite annoying at times. Which Volvo did you have? I've been thinking about reviewing some of their models, particularly the EX30 and the EX40/C40 lineup.
