This is the only 3D Sonic game I can think of that hasn't lost people's respect over time. The only people I know who dislike it, never liked speed and platforming in the first place.
Well I don't enjoy it anymore because there's so little, no true 3D, Time Eater aged like turd and they seriously couldn't bother to do more and it's boring to play these days, reason why I still enjoy UnleasHD and go back.
I like Sonic Generations. It's just behind Adventure 1 & 2 in terms of 3D Sonic. None of them can match the original Genesis trilogy though, especially Sonic 2.
nah dont worry gens is one of those game where everyone agrees its great. it was my first sonic game so i didnt have the nostagia factor for it when I was a kid but i rlly enjoyed, goes to show its amazing w/out it
I highly recommend the PC version over the Xbox version, it runs very well on most hardware I've tried it on and plus, even with the removal of the bonus Sonic 1 ROM you get the ability to add hundreds upon hundreds of different mods to get even more out of the game.
I felt the same way about Generations to Frontiers, they’re like Yin and Yang to each other in terms of gameplay and story. The only thing I would say is that comparatively the gameplay in Frontiers is far better than the story in Generations… But imagine if they get both aspects right in one game! That very well may be on the horizon and I’m so excited for the (endless 😏) possibilities!!!

Merry Christmas! A game I think you would really enjoy and I would enjoy hearing you talk about is Shining Force: The Legacy of Great Intention from the Sega Genesis. Its a timeless StrategyRPG from 1993. Way ahead of its time in gameplay and soundtrack, also sparked a whole series that continues to this day.
MERRY CHRISTMAS! Okay so as a classic sonic fan this game really got me back into playing all of the genesis classics again and it reignited my interests in the modern sonic formula. Glad to see that sonic team found a format/formula that works with Sonic Frontiers and with the recent successes of the movies and Sonic Prime show I cannot wait to see what is next. Maybe a Sonic Mania 2?
Oh wow you're so young! I'm old my dude and that's what's fantastic about Sonic. It really goes the distance and has lasted a long time with GENERATIONS of fans. 😉
I just played this game for the first time today and im of the opposite opinion. It was a cute nostalgia trip, but unleashed and adventure 2 still stand as 2 of my favorite games of all time, over this one. I literally beat generations in 5 hours. I wasnt dissapointed in the least, but not blown away, just amused. And i only started playing sonic games this summer. Frontiers is next for me
@Banjo n' Ka'shootie For the ps4 im a guy who loves compelling story over gameplay, as long as the gameplay doesnt feel like trying to pick up liquid dogshit like sonic 06. Unleashed and adventure 2 are still the 2 games that blew me away and that i will replay in a heartbeat. Idk if i would replay generations, maybe if i just wanted a little nostalgia?
@Banjo n' Ka'shootie For the ps4 i just started getting into sonic this year, i started in the summer. So farz in order, i have played unleashed, SA1, SA2, heroes. I played most of 06, i still need to finish shadow's story, but that game pissed me off so much today i stopped and played generations instead, and i finished gens in 5 hours. I just downloaded frontiers and will start it tomorrow, after frontiers, my list is: colors, black knight, riders, rush and rush adventure, chronicles, and the advance games. Then maybe sonic cd and 3& knuckles. Maybe ill actually finish 06 eventually or watch the rest of the story. Like i said, generations was amusing but not mind blowing, SA2 and unleashed became 2 of my favorite games of all time. I might replay SA1 now that i accept its clunkiness, heroes i was glad it was over, and 06 id have to make myselg finish
@@thegeth4293 Sonic generations is the most overrated game in the franchise. The game panders to those people who always claim 2D era was the best. They put both classic and modern Sonic in the game but then decided to fill every modern Sonic stage with 2.5D elements. 3D Sonic games should not have 2.5D sections
@Banjo n' Ka'shootie For the ps4 so im about 6 hours into frontiers now and so far i dont like it. Im about half finished ares island. And honestly im worried if this is the future of sonic. It just doesnt have the magic that advenure 2 and unleashed did, the world feels empty and dead. Not immersive at all, and i dont really like the soundtrack.
I played Unleashed recently and while it's still as fun then as today it's definitely has some fuck you moments that were ironed out in Generations with Generations having much less of those moments due in part with less trial and error level design and Sonic being more stiff to control unlike in Unleashed where he carried a ton of momentum which while fun to exploit can make it feel a bit slippery sometimes. Still Generations did have some momentum unlike Sonic Forces and Frontiers (which I like btw) where Sonic feels stuck to the ground. Tip for any PC gamers out there. Get the HedgeModManager and install Direct3D 11 and Better Fxpipeline. You are going to be blown away on how good it looks plus with Direct3D 11 it makes it perform much better on modern hardware running at really high fps plus removing micro stutters and using less overall system memory allowing you to crank the quality on the Better Fxpipeline. I was able to run it at supersample 4k and my hardware isnt top of the line but it ran so good and looked amazing.
Well, for Generations Steam is the best place to play, since for those instances where there are slowdowns (like SteamDeck), there's mods to improve the performance. = For Unleashed Xbox Series X|S is the best way to play with FPS Boost. =D
Sonic Generations is THE BEST Sonic game ever made. It's the perfect platformer and allows for awesome 3D and 2D levels. The boss fights are platforming perfect, and don't even get me started on the music. I enjoyed the challenge levels, and got all the achievements for this masterpiece. It runs like butter on Series X and should be experienced by anyone with a love for Sonic, platformers or just plain fun.
This is still my favorite more modern Sonic game and in my top 5 for the series overall after 2, CD, S&K and the very first game. Even on the X360 back in 2011, despite some obvious technical flaws, I loved this game (also have Christmas memories mixed with it, my sister remembered how big a Sonic fan I was in the 16-bit era and gifted Generations to me) and I completely agree it is even better with Series X. Every time I play it I'm impressed with how cleaned up it was, especially that framerate, the Series X just brute forces through stuff that used to cause issues. An impressive remaster, I guess you could call it, and it was free.
Sonic Generations is one of my favourite games of all time. I remember that SEGA releases the demo of this game, and I just remember constantly replaying Green Hill Zone and just being completely enamored by it. This game, Assassin's Creed Revelations, and I think Need For Speed Most Wanted 2012 were the games I got for Christmas that year. Good times.
I remember loving so many good sonic games. Adventure 1&2, Heroes, Generations, Colors, Unleashed, and Mania. But man I have had to really be picky because there is one or two stinkers in between those great Sonic games. Generations is in the Good sonic games category for me!
To this day I still yeet through this game on a regular basis. I mainly do the 3d stages as im not that accustomed to the 2d layouts. As of a few months ago I was able to get my green hill act 2 time down to 1:37:42 exact(without m or d speed). One of my proudest achievements after being stuck with no improvement for nearly a year. I will always like that vector music fight even though it can be jank sometimes. To this day im still finding new pathways primarily seaside hill act 2 and speed highway act 2. If theirs one thing I will say it is that sky sanctuary act 2 and planet wisp act 2 are some of the biggest pains in my ass to Speedrun well. Also fun fact this is the second game I've ever 100% completed. Also big props to the quick load times on the gen 7 consoles.
Generations was always considered my favorite in the series honestly. I still believe that. I'm still going through Frontiers so I don't have a placement for it yet.
I feel like Generations just absolutely nailed it for Boost formula linear level design. Unleashed did a great job with it too, but Generations is just 👌 Moving forward, I would like to see more games utilize the Open Zone gameplay formula with optional linear bonus stages similar to how Frontiers did it, except in the linear stages it plays much more closely to Generations. Also, while I enjoy the callback level layouts in Frontiers, I'd like the next game to focus more on original level design. Nostalgic callbacks are fun, but more than anything I think the franchise needs to stop leaning on nostalgia and start trying to do as much original content as possible. Something of a return to 1999-2009 where we were getting mostly original adventures that didn't feel the need to remind you about 1991-1994 every 5 seconds. Do it through worldbuilding and lore like the main story in Frontiers rather than making us run through Green Hill for the millionth time.
I'm on my way to play every 3D Sonic game before I try Frontiers. So far I've played Sonic Adventure (PC) Sonic Heroes (PC) Shadow the Hedgehog (GameCube) Sonic Colours (Wii) Sonic Generations (PS3) Sonic Lost World (Wii U and 3DS) Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric (Wii U) Sonic Forces (PS4). Adventure and Generations are my two favourite for now, Lost World 3DS and Boom are by far my least favourite. Currently playing Sonic World Adventure (Unleashed) on Xbox 360 and Wii and I'm enjoying them way more than I thought I would.
You had Appendicitis when SONIC GENERATIONS came out? This is strange because I had a similar experience. In 2011 when SONIC GENERATIONS came out, I did not have a gaming console that could run it. Unfortunately, this was also the year, that my father was forced to quit his job and money was tight. The next year after resolving the situation. I was hoping to get a PS3 or 360. But instead I got Appendicitis. It was not until 2013 that I finally got a PS3 and SONIC GENERATIONS. I did not get the 360 because I had heard too many, red ring of death stories.
My first and favorite sonic game even it is part of the fan-dubbed "meta era" that made the stories suck. I still consider it the best game in the franchise because of the gameplay. I didn't 100% it when I had it on ps3 but I did when I bought it on steam when it went on sale and think it's the second best 100% experience in sonic behind frontiers but it's still the best sonic game.
@@gracekim1998 It's what people in the sonic fandom call the 2010s era of sonic (based on a reviewers remark in a vid that happened to get a few million views), even though I disagree with calling it that. What the reviewer was referring to is how the sonic social media and sonic as a whole basically acted like everything is a joke throughout the entire decade and was kind of a soulless corporate entity that lacked any identity that wasn't just bland jokes that started with the game before generations and pandering to classic sonic fans (from the writers who have never played or cared about sonic games that also wrote generations).
I think Generations is the best boost game without a shadow of doubt, but still isn't yet at SA2's story level, but it's the only game that made me school respect the boost.
Have I told you how much I love you? You’re amazing. Love your videos so much. But god damn do we have differing opinions on this game 😂 I found Generations piss easy and I thought the level design in the day stages of Unleashed were far better and more fitting for boost Sonic. It was much more challenging, more spectacle, etc etc. I obviously respect your opinion
Honestly I absolutely love sonic generations (I haven’t played frontiers so I can’t say anything about that) but it is a bit short and there isn’t much story.
I adored this game on the 360 and I wouldn't mind replaying it on a more modern system. The 3DS version isn't bad either, but loses quite a bit of its identity as both Sonics play in 2D and both also have the homing attack, though it makes up a bit having most of the stages (except Green Hill) be different from the console version. One of its stages is based on the DS game Sonic Rush, which makes me wonder why they didn't go the full nine yards having the handheld version of Generations be exclusively levels from the handheld games... the Game Gear, Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS eras. However, I will say... the final boss fight was much more fun on the 3DS than whatever the heck they tried to do on the console version.
Based on various rumors Sonic Generations was planned for the Wii, PSP and DS but these versions got cancelled yet for some reason they decided to make it for the 3DS. It makes me wonder how the other versions would have turned out if they never cancelled them.
This game my absolute favorite of sonic games. Number one. I believe we don't have second chance to got something similar from Sega soo keep it and love it. This game 11years old and graphicly still looks so good and alive. Speed, music, boost everything. Lot of amazing mods. Chance to change music, collect arts, music, play minimisions. This game is legend🙂👍
This is easily my favorite 3D Sonic game. Though I haven't played Sonic Frontiers and I'm hoping to get it for Christmas. Granted my biggest issue with Generations was the story, or lack of story in this case. Though it was probably a good idea to not have a story because Lost World, Colors, and especially Forces writing was not good.
I don’t see why people get so hung up on story in video games and I’m not saying this because Sonic I’m saying because it’s not the most important thing the gameplay is it’s a game not a movie or tv show story is cool and all but even back then the stories were simple and kept it straightforward not drawn out scenes that forget your playing a game I can watch a movie if I want to sit for 20 mins watching exposition.
@@gracekim1998 Well what I mean is the cutscenes that go on for way too long like I’m playing a video game not watching a tv show just get to the point and move on like for example something like Sonic doesn’t need all this story just Robotnik does something, Sonic and his friends go out to stop him or whatever he’s working with Adventure 1, Heroes, Advance games, Rush, Unleashed and Colors got this right.
@Skye29 The way Sonic fans put so much emphasis on story makes me think none of them actually *play* these games, they just watch the cutscenes on TH-cam.
@@GamingintheAM0801 Yeah because hearing people call Sonic an Shonen Anime is like left field he was never that when he was first created to begin with he started pretending to be something he wasn’t I don’t mind story in Sonic but when it’s just off the wall it’s really off the wall I know a dead horse at this point but 06, STH, Secret Rings, Black Knight and heck even Frontiers as that one didn’t even look like a Sonic game from the enemies to the environment and overall feel of it. SEGA started chasing trends and still do so today as what’s seen as cool instead of keeping what made sense and because of this they focused way to much on story and neglected gameplay the most important thing to a game if the gameplay is bad or if the player isn’t having fun then it fails as a Video Game.
I'm gonna say something that might be controversial for some but really is the case for me. If the game is good I reaeaeally don't care how long it is. If I buy a 40€ game and it lasts 3 hours but they are some of the best god damned 3 hours of my life I will be completely satisfied. A prime example of this is buying Telltale games on launch, you only get one episode that lasts 2 hours but it doesn't matter cause what you got was Gucci. I don't care that Forces was 2 hours long because I had fun with it (which it isn't if you strive to collect all Red Rings, Moon Coins and those timer thingies plus the missions, it goes over 15 hours), I don't care that Generations was around 2-3 hours long cause it's literally my favorite Sonic game of all time (and again, if you strive to do everything it's even longer). I don't care about quantity in the slightest, I care about quality, especially in this modern age where every game wants to be a 150-500 hour long RPG. I'm tired of long games, they're becoming intolerable, AC Valhalla alone is longer than AC1 up to AC Rogue combined, I'm just tired.
Agreed, I'd rather have an excellent six-hour game than an okay 80-hour one. I'm not sure where everyone got the idea that any game with less than 50 hours of content is a rip-off, but for some reason, my gut tells me to blame Final Fantasy VII.
@@GamingintheAM0801 I'd argue if there's any blame to be thrown at is at The Witcher 3. We've had big open worlds before, at the time (2012-2014) we got things like Dragon Age: Inquisition and TES: Skyrim which were both lengthy AF with expansive maps, but you didn't really see anyone try to capitalize on that formula on any significant way. Of course there were some that tried but it didn't take over the industry completely. As soon as TW3 dropped and shook the industry to its foundation publishers and developers went 🤑🤑🤑 and started making every single IP on the face of the earth either a Witcher clone or a game as massive in scale as the Witcher. Ubisoft with literally all of their IPs pretty much, Dying Light 2, Rockstar with Red Dead, we could be naming things all day. I have no idea if TW3 actually had anything to do with this industry shift but it sure feels like it, it feels like every publisher got the mindset that open worlds suddenly became a necessity after TW3. And all this isn't me shiting on TW3 btw, it's my second favorite game of all time, just saying.
Black Knight's story is the only thing about that game people ever talk about. I'm convinced nobody has actually played it, they just watched the cutscenes on TH-cam.

@@thegeth4293 Part of what made sonic unleashed so great what the look it went for. If you boot up the game you will see how stylised the characters are. Much more cartoony but serious when it needs to be. Sonic frontiers aimed for realism which is not impressive any more when people started getting the hang of making things look real in early stages of the ps3 and we’re now at the ps5. Also people keep saying it doesn’t matter but if you tilt your camera sun frontiers so it’s facing up a little bit and then start running you’ll see there is a lot of rails and platforms jus t popping in which 1 doesn’t really look good with the realism and 2 if there is a collectible on a platform that you want to get them half the time you won’t be able to see what you have to do to get to that platform because you need to run a bit further for a spring or something to load in. Though I won’t argue about people saying the boss fights are great because one thing I can say about frontiers is that every single boss fight is better then the unleashed final boss. Perfect dark Gaia while not awful was more about feeling then being a great boss. However unleashed never missed the feeling but if that game
its considered one of the best sonic games due to its gameplay and replay ability. Its drawbacks are basically no story and being to short. But if you see sonic games tier lists generations is normally in the S tier or the A tier.
Outside of the story obviously the only thing that’s wrong with the game is it’s length. Even if they just added levels via DLC I’d be fine with that I would’ve loved a stardust speedway or a sky rail or a mazuri
The 2d sections control really bad especially compared to the genesis games and they're too fast for how zoomed in the camera is. Every time I tried to spin dash and jump for speed I would get hit by something or miss a spring I that was apparently supposed to hit and just fall into a pit and die. 3D sections control very loose when boosting and when you slow down to walking speeds the controls are absolutely atrocious. Similar issues here of when I jumped and boosted forward I would hit an obstacle I couldn't see or miss an object I was supposed to hit and fall into a bottomless pit. I like when sonic games reward you for experimenting with movement like in 1/2/3/Mania and the adventure games. This game seems to punish you if you don't do exactly what they intend for you to do on a given path.
I'm also waiting for Sonic Frontiers to be heavily discounted. Don't get me wrong it's that I'm not willing to buy the game at a higher price but being the longtime Sonic fan that I am, I'm sure that at some point I'm going to have multiple copies of the game on different consoles and of that's the case I might as well get a good deal whenever I can.
Sonic generations DOESN'T HAVE a story to begin with. it's just a collection of older stages as Celebration of everything that has been up to that point. the story was really not important at all.

Well I don't enjoy it anymore because there's so little, no true 3D, Time Eater aged like turd and they seriously couldn't bother to do more and it's boring to play these days, reason why I still enjoy UnleasHD and go back.
@@artistanthony1007 All I know is the words of others. I don't have the money to actually get the game myself.

Matty, I also had appendicitis! I'm glad you got through it too. And this game is so glorious in its Xbox enhanced form!
I replayed Unleashed and Generations on series X and Generations with that 4K 60 was just so good. Unleashed is still my favourite though
It plays so well on series X!! Incredibly smooth at 60 fps
Can't believe this came out in 2011
I like Sonic Generations. It's just behind Adventure 1 & 2 in terms of 3D Sonic. None of them can match the original Genesis trilogy though, especially Sonic 2.
I play it on the Steam Deck all the time now! Still so fun 😊
Still a great/fun game
Seaside hills theme is amazing.
nah dont worry gens is one of those game where everyone agrees its great. it was my first sonic game so i didnt have the nostagia factor for it when I was a kid but i rlly enjoyed, goes to show its amazing w/out it
Crazy how you are playing this game now. I am going to try it out after the holidays
I highly recommend the PC version over the Xbox version, it runs very well on most hardware I've tried it on and plus, even with the removal of the bonus Sonic 1 ROM you get the ability to add hundreds upon hundreds of different mods to get even more out of the game.
I ordered sonic generations recently for my collection and it took me so long to find a good condition non platinum hits copy. Worth it tho
Level design is far better in Generations
I SEE IT, IT SEE IT
Gameplay wise They’re too different to really compare aside from Base Controls which Generations is better at
@@jaretco6423 you can only say that to the cyberspace stages bc overall, frontiers is such a different gameplay style comparing it to gens is like comparing adventure 2 to sonic riders

I loooove this game. Probably my favorite Sonic game. After getting a platinum trophy on Sonic Frontiers my immediate reaction was, “I’d still rather a Sonic Generations 2 than a Sonic Frontiers 2”
No sonic mania 2 those ppl are gone. A 2d modern sonic game is rumored forva long time now
Idk how a mania 2 would even work, what just bring new stages and thats it? Imo mania is fine as a one off title, not every game needs a sequel
This is not a modern Sonic game. Every 3D Sonic stage is in 2D which is complete bs since there’s a classic Sonic in the game
I love this game. The variation between classic and modern Sonic game play ensured you never got bored.
I'm glad this was my first exposure to a Sonic game when I was 7.
Oh wow you're so young! I'm old my dude and that's what's fantastic about Sonic. It really goes the distance and has lasted a long time with GENERATIONS of fans. 😉
@@CragusMaximus You bet😁
I really loved Sonic Generations back in the day, and I would not mind going back to it at some point.
Literally my favourite game of all time. If I always value gameplay over story, that's because of this game
I was able to run it at supersample 4k and my hardware isnt top of the line but it ran so good and looked amazing.
imo Sonic Unleashed>Sonic Generations
Both are absolutely amazing
Well, for Generations Steam is the best place to play, since for those instances where there are slowdowns (like SteamDeck), there's mods to improve the performance. =
For Unleashed Xbox Series X|S is the best way to play with FPS Boost. =D
happy to be here
Sonic Generations is THE BEST Sonic game ever made.
I just reviewed this game too and love playing it on PC and PS3
Literally what? Sonic Generations on PC is the best looking and best playing version, with mods you can go beyond 60FPS
Gens is my favorite game of all time I’m so glad you liked it
8 DAYS LATE SQUAD WHERE YOU AT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Cool video 👍
Generations was always considered my favorite in the series honestly. I still believe that. I'm still going through Frontiers so I don't have a placement for it yet.
I just got to play this game for the first time over the holidays and I loved it!
Keep it up Matty!
I feel like Generations just absolutely nailed it for Boost formula linear level design. Unleashed did a great job with it too, but Generations is just 👌
Moving forward, I would like to see more games utilize the Open Zone gameplay formula with optional linear bonus stages similar to how Frontiers did it, except in the linear stages it plays much more closely to Generations.
Will there be the same series but with Mario instead?
Just got Sonic Frontiers yesterday on PS5 and so far, it’s great ! Kinda wish Generations gets a remaster
Honestly, it was actually my second sonic game as far as I remember - my first actually being Unleashed! I remember being so hyped for Rooftop Run.
sonic gens brought me back to the sonic series full time i walked way from him in the wii era
Really great game, only weakness is story and length.

I'm on my way to play every 3D Sonic game before I try Frontiers. So far I've played
Sonic Adventure (PC)
Sonic Heroes (PC)
Shadow the Hedgehog (GameCube)
Sonic Colours (Wii)
Sonic Generations (PS3)
Sonic Lost World (Wii U and 3DS)
Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric (Wii U)
Sonic Forces (PS4).

Currently playing Sonic World Adventure (Unleashed) on Xbox 360 and Wii and I'm enjoying them way more than I thought I would.
You had Appendicitis when SONIC GENERATIONS came out?
This is strange because I had a similar experience.
In 2011 when SONIC GENERATIONS came out, I did not have a
gaming console that could run it. Unfortunately, this was also the
year, that my father was forced to quit his job and money was tight.
Meta era?
@@gracekim1998 It's what people in the sonic fandom call the 2010s era of sonic (based on a reviewers remark in a vid that happened to get a few million views), even though I disagree with calling it that. What the reviewer was referring to is how the sonic social media and sonic as a whole basically acted like everything is a joke throughout the entire decade and was kind of a soulless corporate entity that lacked any identity that wasn't just bland jokes that started with the game before generations and pandering to classic sonic fans (from the writers who have never played or cared about sonic games that also wrote generations).
The best Sonic game before Frontiers, and is tied for me for #1
Get all S rank is almost impossible for me i am not good enough even getting all the emblem in adventure 1 was impossible !!!
Honestly I absolutely love sonic generations (I haven’t played frontiers so I can’t say anything about that) but it is a bit short and there isn’t much story.
This review feels less like a review and more like a conversation with a friend during lunch.
Generations a classic
Maybe it’s nostalgia, but Sonic Unleashed is still my favorite Sonic game. Darnit if this isn’t a close second though.
@@Skye2993 mate a story isn’t Exposition the entire time 😅 that’s a weird description
So I’m not the only one who still plays it in 2022

Hmm is the console version preferred from the 3DS version?
Easily yes
Console
Most definitely.
@@staticshock4239 hmm 🤔 it’s on the PC too right?
And all this isn't me shiting on TW3 btw, it's my second favorite game of all time, just saying.
this year i had appendicitis too

Love Generations.
Why do ppl always forget black knights story. It got sonics Character right the best plus the villain had an actual reasonable motivation
Black Knight's story is the only thing about that game people ever talk about. I'm convinced nobody has actually played it, they just watched the cutscenes on TH-cam.
Who's gonna tell him that Sonic Rush was actually the first game to have tricks.
I mean if we want to be technical this is the first 3D game to have them

Ive been going through the sonic games as a recent sonic fan since this summer i have played unleashed, adventure 1 and 2, heroes, almosy finished 06, and now generations. I just bought frontiers and will start it tomorrow.
Generations was a fun nostalgia trip, but very short. So far unleashed and SA2 are the ones i will replay in a heartbeat. Heroes i was glad when i was done with it. 06, i finished silver and sonics story, and half of shadows, and needed a break from that game. Maybe i will finish it in the future, or just watch the rest on youtube. Also im emulating 06 on xenia so i have the best possible setup for the game.
Unleashed and adventure 2 still are the top of my tier list
I went back to Unleashed again around 4 days ago. I beat it and loved it so much that I started a new game as soon as I beat it and beat it again. Amazing game
@@gsm4919 i just got frontiers and am 6 hours into it, im a little less than half done ares i think, and, honestly, i dont like it that much. Im a little worried if this is the future of sonic. I keep comparing it to unleashed and adventure 2, 2 of my favorite games of all time. And it doesnt stack up really at all.
@@thegeth4293 I am in EXACTLY the same boat as you I got sonic frontiers and the soundtrack doesn’t hold a candle to unleashed or sa2 the choruses I enjoy but the screamo music I don’t like. Anyway the gameplay of frontiers it’s alright. The cyber-space levels in my opinion are actually just bad but the open world exploration element in alright and fleshed out quite well. It’s not one of the greats in the series and it doesn’t deserve the absolute praise it’s getting right now but its not an awful time. I would personally give it a 6/10
@@gsm4919 so far im at a 6/10 with frontiers too. The open world just feels.... Empty and dead. I much prefer the hub world approach.
Like unsleashed, or mass effect 2: multiple small hubs that feel alive and immersive, from which you access the action stages. As long as that rmula has 15-20 hours of content i think its worth it
@@thegeth4293 Part of what made sonic unleashed so great what the look it went for.
What replay ability is there? There's barely anything to do or get.

I wish we got a.sequel to this game honestly.
Great to play 360 games on series x for a whole new experience 🙌🏻
Literally my only problems with this game are that it is way too short, and the final boss sucks. I don't really care that it has little to no story.
Correction: The trick system was first seen in Sonic Rush
This game is good but the mods are god tier
The pc version has mods so yh that’s probably the best version but if you want to play the default game series x is the way to go
It's literally on sale on Steam for $5, I'm waiting on getting Frontiers so I've decided to check this out first
I'm also waiting for Sonic Frontiers to be heavily discounted. Don't get me wrong it's that I'm not willing to buy the game at a higher price but being the longtime Sonic fan that I am, I'm sure that at some point I'm going to have multiple copies of the game on different consoles and of that's the case I might as well get a good deal whenever I can.
This crazy because I’m playing sonic generations myself for the 1st this yr!🤯
its real good

Sonic generations DOESN'T HAVE a story to begin with. it's just a collection of older stages as Celebration of everything that has been up to that point. the story was really not important at all.
