    People are insane. I'm in a Floyd tribute myself, and let me tell all of you who think you can do better, try recreating all the sounds that people like The Beatles and Floyd do in the studio live. Good Luck.. These guys are FANTASTIC!! Feel free to post a wedding band that plays stuff like this live (without playing against an MP3 track). Bet you won't find any. Kudos to these guys for playing everything live we never got to hear live when The Beatles were around. Superb job!!

    Ringo deserves ALOT more credit than he normally recieves. He could keep a great beat, and his fills add alot to all of the songs. A Day In The Life has great drumming, as does Strawberry Fields Forever.

      A lot of work. When you first heard it back when it came out you thought what the heck is this. You knew you were hearing something out of his world, but you figured it's The Beatles always testing boundaries, and doing good work. It was after I saw all these making of videos with them, and see that what was care free to listen to wasn't care free to make. These guys were pros.

  • @labdarugo

    I saw these guys last night in concert. They are amazing! In the first half of the show, they played diffferent Beatle songs, including this one and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" which was astounding. In the second half they played the entire Abbey Road album! They constantly switched instruments to use the same ones that were used on the original recordings and bought to life music that, let's face it, has never been played live before. If you have a chance to see these guys, do not miss it!

    This brought tears to my eyes! There was something peculiar and haunting about the metronomic quality of the rhythm, the strings and horns were wonderful to see perform live, I like the singer's slight gravelly voice very much, and the base player cuts a very fine cornerstone on stage. The attention to detail was also cool in the spoken voice that came in towards the end from the keyboard player. This is a clip I wil enjoy playing again.

      Of course the Beatles didn't. With the sound and computer technology of the time (1967) it would have been near impossible to produce a faithful live version. Once technology improved, talented groups like this could make the attempt. And a very successful attempt I might add.

  • @buffalobraves9
    @buffalobraves9 9 ปีที่แล้ว +134

    I'll remind everyone that when the Beatles recorded this they did so over many days, even weeks of dozens of overdubs and effects added through the mastery of George Martin. This band just performed this live with no overdubs and did a pretty darn good job. I appreciate the magic of the Beatles as much as anyone but to say "this sucks" is ridiculous. Let's see what you can do live in front of millions of viewers with no overdubs.

    • @mickavellian
      @mickavellian 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      John Boutet The overdubs are pre-recorded and synced live . One of the beauties of digital technology. The vocals are tweaked (the drummer's REAL voice is NOT so Lennon like) the "Owhhhhhhhh" is prerecorded and the strings depth, sustain & slapback echo is digitally enhanced. No great magic (although Will is a GREAT bass player) just amazing technology.

The Beatles surely had theirs, but my goodness! talk about going from sending smoke signals to radio waves into the heavens figuratively speaking within a few short years! Beatles FOUR-ever, eh? Much as we all love and revere the Beatles, remember that they were studio wizards, with huge help from Sir George Martin. Speaking as an old guy who's been a musician since high school, there is a *world* of difference between a track that was assembled over weeks of layering, editing, and re-takes in a studio, vs a once-through live performance. That's the true awe of Fab Faux.

    They honor the music, greatly. Since 1969 we have been denied a "live" performance of this epochal music and it is grand to know that it can all be heard again, and we are comforted to know that it is not just a creation of George Martin in EMI's studio, but something real. The Fab Faux are not making the Beatles' music "smaller" by so accurately reproducing it, they are instead making it greater by showing that it can live again, safely, in other hands.

    I wish the Beatles did a live performance of "I am the Walrus", probably will have sound with less quality because technology wasn't good back then, and for the record Sir George Martin did a lot of trickery by building that song in parts. One thing is 100% sure that NOBODY will ever sound on the voices better than the original creaters: The Beatles. However I give this musicians all my respects for a job well done.

    The best Beatles tribute band in existence... Why? because they can play ALL of their songs well.

    I'm so glad you (Fab Faux) included this song in the Easton, PA - Revolver Concert (2nd set).
    You have made an old classic once again rock!! :)
    See you again in New Brunswick, NJ!!
    To others, when someone does justice to Beatles songs - one concert just isn't enough!

    The Cavern Beat are a fine Beatles band (I checked out their videos) as is The Fab Faux. It's a different take, that's all. I know the Faux and have heard them rave about other Beatles bands, especially 1964. These guys are a humble bunch who couldn't be happier to be involved in a pool of bands who are keeping the magical dust flowing on all things Beatles. Let's just enjoy and celebrate with all these bands.

    Awesome!! I am going to see them, April 8, 2017, at The Fillmore in Philadelphia PA. They usually do a specific album, this time The Beatles Greatest Hits.

    @retroclipps - Well said friend; this song is absolutely trascendental; it's like youu can feel and see those
    magical and mysterious years from where this song originates changing. Uncanny, special.
    I remember reading in the 80's when ask about where he got his inspiration for his unique sounding
    music, a certain new age artist said that he was just a tool for god and his mind and hands where the
    instruments for this higher power! Makes me wonder about the Beatles...
