    I love how chat was mocking him about the idea that being active in an area prevents mob spawns.
    When it is actually a mechanic.
    Staying in a chunk for long periods of times reduces spawn rate in said chunk. While rising regional difficulty (which doesn't affect much tbh).

    • @CriticalCipher
      @CriticalCipher 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah 100% not a spawning mechanic. Not sure who told you it was. Spawn rates are complex if a spawn rate fialr or succeeds but the basic rate of spawn is alsway the same. Whether their are 0 mobs in the mobcap or 69 mobs that have been there for a million years the rate of spawning is the same. If this was a mechanic every single person who runs mob farms would notice the decline in drops in tests.

    • @rompevuevitos222
      @rompevuevitos222 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@CriticalCipher It is a VERY old mechanic.
      The game prefers to spawn monsters in less traveled areas.
      mob farms aren't affected because they completely remove all other spawn points, so monsters will be forced to spawn in the occupied area.
      Remember, it doesn't affect spawn rate, it affects spawn location.

    • @CriticalCipher
      @CriticalCipher 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @rompevuevitos222 when you say less traveled how does that work do you mean less loaded cause that doesn't make sence since mobs cannot spawn in unloaded chunks so when he is moving around where do mobs prefer to spawn? Gone heavily into spawn mechanics and never once heard of this mechanic and it seems like something that would be rrmoved due to it being unoptimised and not adding anything. Like the game keeps track of the time the chunks have been loaded but not how much time a player has spent in indivual chunks or sub chunks so not even sure how the game would figure out which chunks are less traveled. Got a link to this line of code or resource?

    • @rompevuevitos222
      @rompevuevitos222 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@CriticalCipher It is tracked the same way regional difficulty is tracked, by checking where the player has been.
      And regional difficulty is a well documented mechanic.
      I do not know how big the area is, presumably it refers to the chunks the player visits.

    • @CriticalCipher
      @CriticalCipher 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      regional difficulty is based off several things multipled together, time the world has been running, loaded time spent laoding chunks (this can be anything that loads chunks so chunk loaders would also affect this stat and the phasw of the moon and difficulty. Minecraft as far as I know has no way of knowing which chunks the player is activally more in than others if they have simulation distance set to 16 chunks then this is an area of 65000 blocks^2. So staying in area does not make things spawn less. What happens is the mob cap reaches a steady state and this could be precieved as less mobs but the spawn rates never change unless the local mob cap is under 70. I've looked for what you are talking about and cannot find a single mention of what you are describing, if I am wrong then please share with me who told you this so I can see what they said about the topic?

    Do parts of the world stop processing when you move far away ?
    Can't mobs spawn inside my house ?

      'Back seat gaming' refers to people dropping hints (often spoilery) and trying to influence/dictate how someone else plays a game, usually without the player's consent. It comes from the term for 'back seat driving' if I recall correctly, where people who are not driving are constantly telling the driver how to drive.

      well it makes sense, swords are for fighting and axes are for chopping. Gold is rarer than stone, so it makes sense it would be better. Also swords are better for PvE anyway.

    • @xincnos9657
      @xincnos9657 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      yeah plus axes are not objectively better for attacking because their attack speed is lower than a sword, also crit jumping is super annoying and unfun (imo) AND axes don't get the sweeping slash.

    • @Nico_com_c
      @Nico_com_c ปีที่แล้ว +8

      This ain't pvp and Oliver doesn't know how to crit, swords are still the best option

    • @v2jo_re
      @v2jo_re ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Nico_com_c depends on the enemy type. For creepers you would want to use an axe, to minimise the amount of times you need to go in. Later on though, the axes atk speed is this low that if its enchanted with sharpness 5 itll dish out way more damage than a sharp 5 sword. Also axe is better at getting hits in between blocking, which oliver does a lot.

    • @Njinx_

      This is Java, no shaders. Higher render distance can also be very taxing on the computer

    • @peterlewis2178
      @peterlewis2178 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      Shaders absolutely are subjective. Shaders can often make parts of the game harder to see or interact with (especially making night/darkness much darker). It can sometimes get in the way of gameplay, not to mention they might decrease the FPS. Not that I'm against shaders, I use them a bit and enjoy them, but I still find the need to sometimes turn them off, and it's hardly a clear-cut improvement for everyone.
