The enviornment and variety of styles not only sets it apart but they both walk away with something is true essence. This whole era was lit with pure genius.
This is exactly why Johnny Wang Lung Wei is theeeee GREATEST villian in the shaw films...dude is just skilled as phuk......what a baddass fight this was!
I missed these movies, as a kid growing up, saturday afternoon 3 o;clock channel 5, eyes glued to the tube, then you couldn't wait until school on monday to try your " new style " out, lol....
There are your Run of the mill Kung Fu Fight Scenes, then there's always those Scenes that are a cut above the Norm. This is one of those Fight scenes. Fantastic!
I've watched all of the classic Shaw Brothers movies OVER & OVER & OVER again over the years. This rarely happens with other movies (except maybe a few of the Marvel Universe films or Conan/Tron/The Warriors/Platoon a few of the other classics). What is it about these movies that makes them so captivating? I simply can never get enough of these... So many good ones too! So glad many of them have been added to Prime/Netflix in HD (I come from the era of buying the bootlegs in Chinatown NYC and the quality being so bad from a 10th generation copy > literally a copy of someone recording their CRT TV while it played on-screen, so ridiculous)
You need to get put from your mom's basement if you think this is something close to real hand to hand fighting. Typical Chinese made garbage. Even Steven Seagal's crap is better than this.
27sincity, that much is true. I grew up watching these Movies every Saturday and I grew up in the Bronx New York many many years ago. Back in the late 70s starting early 80s this was every young kid and teenagers dream waiting for Saturday to arrive to sit down in what ever house we all ran to just to see these Movies. Those were the good old days. Teenagers and young Children don't appreciate what it was to hang out and have a great Saturday Morning and an awesome Saturday Afternoon.
Anthony Street with all do respect Anthony, this is NOT karate, anyone who has been study the arts will tell you this magic that Gordon is executing is Kung Fu.......
+les antoine ... me and my friends also. There was a time when we had gotten so good that we could actually imitate certain parts of fight scenes. Sometimes, someone would slip and the games would be over though lol
now thats the kind of scene that takes me back to when i used to watch them back in the old days..movies like chinese super ninjas..5 deadly venoms..and 36 chambers..just classics like that takes me back..
First Watch all these kung fu movies as a kid on 42nd Street Times Square the deuce is what we used to call it back in my Brooklyn days back then you can see Believe It or Not 3 kung fu movies for $3.50 the early shows those were the days👊👊
This is a Fantastic Fighting scene with different Styles. Love Gordon Liu movies. Shaws Brothers Movies are Great. Thank You liuchialiang for Posting this.
You make a great point about Wang-Lung-Wei...he was always his own person and out for his own ends, like he was in "Death Chamber" and the sequel "Five Shaolin Masters." In fact that may have been what I was trying to point out the first time I mentioned those two movies. In any case, he always plays a great villian, although that fake shaved head prosthetic he wore in "Avenging Eagles" was a bit too much to take, lol :-)
nothing like seeing a kung-fu movie with hand-to-hand combat. You've gotta love it!!! Tjis movie with master killer is just that..... a killer!!!! 5 stars!!
to see aga in the 7masters wow bring back memories with the homeboys going to 42nd st. watching kungfumovies..my earth techniques absorb your water style!✋👊
HA,HA.YO.''MARTIAL CLUB'',WAS ONE OF THE FIRST FLICKS I EVER BROUGHT ON VHS,WAY BACK WHEN I USE TO COP THEM IN HARLEM.HA,HA.LATER I GOT IT ON CANAL ST.ON DVD.THIS IS A BANGIN MOVIE,AND YET NOT ONE PERSON IS KILLED.YOU SEE EVERY MOVE,KID.
Learnt so much frm it.. watchng this scene first time, on feb 22nd 2020...my b.d..appreciate the respect between 2fighters frm different schools...rare!
Wang-Lung-Wei always played a great bad guy! He Also just LOOKS sneaky and deceptive, and his natural look makes him great for these sort of roles. Another great creep that he played was in "The Chinatown Kid" as the guy who drew Alexander Fu Sheng into the life of the Chinese underworld. And he played the Shaolin traitor Mao-Fu-Yi in another Fu Sheng movie, "5 Shaolin Masters", the sequel to "Death Chamber" if I remember right.
This is the very first time I’ve seen this scene all the way through. It reminds me of duty Z in real life come from martial arts masters. Such as Bruce Lee in real life defeated opponents and once they saw how recent was BBT his students. As I am sure there are others that he himself learn from. This is the true essence of martial arts training to become better stronger learn from one another to become more legal in one’s ability to defend them selves and defend others. This also reminds me of DBZ, Goku had many friends and detours of which everyone he thought he learns gain greater skill and hire ability martial arts. This is how one James true friendship to the art of fighting.
Matsie Smith Hello, please help me! Im looking for the movie that Ive seen like 20 years ago. I remember only one fight scene: There was a good guy dressed in white and bad guy dressed in black (or dark blue) clothes. They were fighting outdoors. And the black guy had some sort of sword/saw on a string and he was throwing it and cutting things. He even cut off good guys arm! And than the good guy put his own sword in the bad guys weapon and when it came back to bad guy he was pierced by that sword and died. Do you know this film? I see you are a big fan of old kung fu movies :) Thats nice.
***** Sorry but don't think I know that one! I have them fighting with Fans, Bells, Cymbals, fish, furniture, swords and dozens of other weird weapons! I will check and see what I can find out for you!
***** I have now found them fighting with chopsticks, bowls, long-stemmed pipes, umberellas and even trees. But... unfortunately can't find yours! Sorry!
+Lee Harvey Scoutwald I remember seeing a movie called Flying Guillotine. It was about a team of assassins who used a device that looked like an odd sort of straw hat on a long cord. It would be thrown at the target, come down over his head, then a pull on the cord would cause the blade within the brim to close around the neck severing the head. Maybe not the same thing, but it did remind me of how inventive the Chinese were.
They weren't trying to kill each other, just test each other skills. One of the best hand to hand fight scene.
One of the BEST fight scenes in Martial arts movie history!!!
The enviornment and variety of styles not only sets it apart but they both walk away with something is true essence. This whole era was lit with pure genius.
i love these older kung fu flicks, they should all be remastered and put on dvd with better quality..

They are masters and respected each other. Great fight!
There are your Run of the mill Kung Fu Fight Scenes, then there's always those Scenes that are a cut above the Norm. This is one of those Fight scenes. Fantastic!
The best duo when it comes to good vs bad in kungfu! 👍 THANKS FOR THE VIDEO.
One thing I've noticed in movies like this is that they use everything to their advantage its pretty awesome
I've watched all of the classic Shaw Brothers movies OVER & OVER & OVER again over the years. Great fighting scenes. I remember this movie back in the days Gordon was just a student representing his teacher,And his Kung fu was awesome.
This has to be one of the best fight scenes I've seen in a long time
Only in the old school movies can fights last this long and be entertaining the whole way through.
They made great movies together, every one a classic. Throw in Lo Lieh and they are all Diamonds
+Anton Joseph I got to say not all Lo Lieh movies are great , not until he become Priest Mei I rate him in that role , he kill it
Diego General
Each had a watershed moment
Anton Joseph yep as times goes by he gets better rolls to place
Chen Kuan Tai too.
Also Leung Kar Lau who directed and started in some of their movies💥
This was as much a tribute of Johnny Wang as it was to Gordan Lui.
Straight hand to hand combat.this fight scene is off the meat rack nooooo special effects just hard core fighting skills
No doubt I was all in it as a youth
Music was put into the shaolin vs wutang video game intro on pc.
@@thedarksideoftheforce6658 heheheehe i LOOOVE THAT GAME HAHAHAHA!

Love the great animal styles like the eagle claw and the snake fist style just awesome!

Best fight scene without a death ..
Man these karate clips bring back memories.. As I kid I always tried imitating the sound effects and fight moves when fighting my pops.
Anthony Street with all do respect Anthony, this is NOT karate, anyone who has been study the arts will tell you this magic that Gordon is executing is Kung Fu.......

Superb kung-fu of Hung style.Simple , natural and practical with a deep root and an unbending spirit.Hung style is #1.
Old school kungfu movies are so awesome... Wish they made movies like those again....
Only if they rely on technique & coordination, not on those special effects & CGI.
It would be a great honor to meet these two ...They made Kung Fu movies worth watching
now thats the kind of scene that takes me back to when i used to watch them back in the old days..movies like chinese super ninjas..5 deadly venoms..and 36 chambers..just classics like that takes me back..
I love these movies. Started watching them in Hawaii when the;y came out. My mom wouldn't take us but Dad would :-).
Thank you for the post.
That was freaking excellent!!!! Both of them were extremely good!!
before pei mei in kill bill Gordon Liu did this classic shaolin kung fu fisticuffs......
Yep. His biggest film is probably Master Killer.

Wang Wei vs. Gordon Liu-the best fight scenes in kung fu cinema! Classic!
Eu sou fã dos estilos de artes marciais principalmente kung fu
One of the greatest film ever. I'm sure it's a Shaw Brothers movie. Superb fight scene as the ally get narrower and narrower.
"Your stance is firm... your jump is powerful.... that's really excellent." :)
These two were amongst the best Kung Fu stars at Shaw brothers studios,
One of the best plots and fights! Kick ass
That's a great fight scene in that long alley.. I have this in my collection
Unforgettable classic fight scene, beautiful fight choreography
They have to adjust their fighting styles to account for the narrowing alley
only true art fans could appreciate a master piece such as this fight seen... all who mock show great foolishness
You make a great point about Wang-Lung-Wei...he was always his own person and out for his own ends, like he was in "Death Chamber" and the sequel "Five Shaolin Masters."

I don't consider him a bad guy in this movie, seems to me it was more about the exchange of knowledge.
fantastic....brings back memories...truely love my child hood
At first I thought it was gonna be hokey...and I was pretty much right, but man, that fight got really intense towards the end. Great post.
I wonder how historically accurate this event was. They got it in, even in the alley ways🤣
Choreography like this had me hypnotized as a kid.

I always wanted to know dudes name with Gordan. Always loved their chemistry. @Fist of the White Lotus.
sound effects excellent long time
I love the way the video starts.
MMA made martial-art dirty! MMA is just about hitting and hurting. Look how creative this was.
Man this fight is raw as fuck. Back then while all the other kids were watching kiddie shows, I was watching this type of shit right here.
OK. Who else watched Kung Fu movies on Saturdays, then went outside with your friends to try and re-enact them? lol

This is definitely one of the best fight scenes
that was perfection
So much more enjoyable to watch the original chinese spoken version.
Pai Mei from Kill Bill, and Thunder Foot from the original Drunken Master. awsome. just, awsome.

In my early years I used these 2 to gauge if the movie was worth watching.
Mad Intense!
the iron wire form was created ny Tit Kiu Saam, his student Leung Fook Sing taught it to Wong Fei Hung.
