I was really disappointed that Suki didn’t confront him on the degrading misogynistic dog panting it was so upsetting to me that his behavior is treated as acceptable.
And he said they were "literally" panting. We are not fools, Kody. Stop telling lies!
She's under his spell or afraid of him? They should have replaced her long ago.

Kody grabbed her thigh, not her knee. She felt threatened, you could tell by the way she grabbed his hand to stop him. Calling a woman "baby" is degrading. It is his way to bring her down.
Kody's fake crying, and touching the interviewers thigh and calling her "baby" was incredibly inappropriate. Why was that not addressed? It was clearly Kody's attempt to make her the submissive. It appears to have worked. TLC needs to replace the Interviewer to a MAN.
Calling someone baby is not inherently degrading, and he wasn't calling Suki baby, he was paraphrasing what he said to Christine. That said: he absolutely was using his body language and his touch as a manipulation tactic and also gauging her level of "openness" to him and his story. He wanted to check in and see if she was following along and she grabbed his hand and leaned forward into him. She was totally caught up in him in that moment and offered him comfort. Suki should not be chosen to do anymore interviews with this family. She's too soft on Kody and falls under his "spell" too easily.
I felt like calling HR on her behalf
I felt so bad for Suki. She jumped and tried to be nice and professional after that. Kody I figured would have known better to not touch somebody against their will.
Its not her thigh its her hand on the arm of the chair. Watch and pause it.
Kody is a manipulative jerk… I don’t believe for a second he was willing to let Meri off the hook for the catfishing episode.
You are SOOO right! He’s expressed so many times that he never wants to be with Meri ever again! He’s completely delusional! He’s disgusting. And now he’s giving Meri a false hope!!! There’s so many names that could be linked to him. Manipulative jerk, arrogant, pretentious, a narcissist, selfish, delusional, A’hole, etc.
The more I think about it, I think he was so disgusted by the thought that that's why he stuck his tongue out like that. That he was disgusted of the thought of reconciling with Mary

Since we know that Christine has no control over what Kody does and that he does not give a rat's behind what Christine thinks, it is not remotely credible that Christine was the one who stopped him from reconciling with Meri.
Mari would of never did what she did if Cody would of been more attentive to her needs . It’s the same thing he did to all but robin
Not sure how anyone would think that a younger, pretty, skinny 4th wife coming in after 15 years of the other wives being together, breaking all the courtship rules and the husband clearly loving her the most was going to work out well. And yet Robyn remains confused 😅
Exactly!! I'd go one step further and place it as a calculated move...not overt or even covert, but as in a lack of emotional intelligence and more importantly, maturity! She displays a lack of mature thinking that would/should be necessary in a plural situation. I've thought this from the gate: the soul mate comment in front of the cameras for all their viewers to see/hear was all I needed to know about her.

Why Robyn doesn't connect:: (1) Robyn joined the family but never moved in to the same house with the rest of the family. That was never an option. She always had to have her own house. This is probably what prompted all the others to announce they too wanted their own houses..
(2) she did not want to share parenting with the other wives, she hired a nanny for her own kids, and did not seem to help the others with theirs
(3) in season 2, they were telling the viewers and the children that they had to move to Las Vegas because the state of Utah was going to send Kody to prison. That turned out to be false, but what was true was that Robyn's father lived in Las Vegas. Unlike everybody else, Robyn had family there. That's why they moved there.
(4) when Dayton wanted to go to college in Arizona, the whole family had to move to Flagstaff. It turned out to take much longer than expected to sell the homes on the cul-de-sac, I believe Meri had to stay behind to keep an eye on the properties and Janelle had to go back every weekend to host open houses. The properties had to be reduced in price repeatedly until they finally sold. The inability to sell the houses promptly created cash flow problems, but they moved before they sold them because Dayton had to go to college there. This disrupted the whole family again.
(5) Robyn needed a big house in Flagstaff so the family pooled their money and bought her another house, much bigger than anybody else had. This has tied up money that was supposed to be used to pay off the property at Coyote Pass so they could start building on it.
When Janelle tried to show the rest of them her house plans, Robyn let her know that certain conditions, her conditions, would have to be met. Janelle's name is currently on a 2.42 acre parcel she shares with Kody, and a 4.48 acre parcel she shares with both Kody and Meri..That means Janelle owns 2.7 acres. Meri owns 1.49 acres. Robyn and Kody own the other 10.29 acres. Janelle cannot build on either of the two parcels she owns shares in unless Kody gives her permission, and Robyn is going to make sure he never gives it. (6) Robyn and Kody own a million dollar house plus another house lot across the road from it..
(7) Robyn is the only legal wife and they live in a community property state. That means she even owns half the truck Kody bought to pull Janelle's RV around..
Unlike the other wives, Robyn doesn't work, doesn't take care of the kids, and contributes nothing to the family's finances. She came to the family "hat in hand" with three children and $32,000 in debt..
in ten years she has amassed all the family wealth. Either Kody's or her name is on everything they own.
This is not an equitable partnership and never has been

Then you throw in the fact that her and Kody spend the family money like crazy, and for YEARS Christine raised and schooled 13 kids, struggling to get attention and love from the husband. Robyn not only gets the money, but she gets the time and attention, PLUS a nanny for her 2 younger children?? With adult children at home to help with chores? I have 4 that I’ve raised and schooled for years. Robyn doesn’t need a nanny if she’s not working!!! What does she do if she doesn’t work and doesn’t raise kids??!
Christine, Meri and Janelle all had their own houses at different times throughout the years. The Lehi house is the only time all 3 lived together.
I can’t see how Kody could ever criticize the wives’ reaction to Robyn. They went out of their way to be accommodating and ignore what was totally obvious. It sure sounds like viewers were incensed right from the beginning.

Kody and Christine’s daughter Gwendolyn said on her patreon that when she came out to the family as bisexual Robyn’s only response was “you should have saved that for the cameras”. I think that in itself says all we need to know about Robyn.
If Robyn wants a subject for the cameras, how about seeing a doctor for the lump in your neck.
For me, from the beginning I noticed Robyn set herself apart from the other wives and took advantage of knowing she was the favorite wife. I felt a lot of times she looked down on the other wives, and their kids. Kody keeps saying she came cap in hand…it drives me bonkers. I didn’t see that. What I witnessed with Robyn’s actions was someone coming into a family trying going “what can I get from this family.” One thing that I remember was when she started her jewelry business. She didn’t ask them if they wanted to join her, she just was like I want to start this business. I don’t care if you ladies have families to take care of and your own aspirations, you will join me. I think at that time Janelle and Christine were busy trying to get their realtor’s license, and Meri wanted to go back to college. She got so upset they just didn’t drop their lives to get on board with HER DREAMS.
Another thing that rubs me the wrong way is with her crying at the drop of hat. I feel it’s a manipulation tactic to deflect the blame off of her.
Janelle had to give up her dream of a gym business too. Don't forget that. Robin's business came first.

Truth, Robyn’s words say Family But her actions manipulate for Me Me Me
They did drop their lives cause Kody made them. Christine never got her real estate license. Meri stopped going to school. I *think* Janelle got her real estate license but at that time had saved enough to nearly start a gym business she wanted to do but the money went to SW closet instead! After the trade show that all went to for a weekend they only sold $500. Janelle said in family meeting it turned out to be about $30/day for each of them. She said this us a hobby not a business and Robyn got very upset. I think Janelle even said ' I can't feed my kids on this'.
I didn’t like the way she was with the kids. I think it was Janelle’s daughter who said she wouldn’t be a polygamist, and Robyn got so mad. Janelle had to step in and tell Robyn that her daughter was entitled to her own opinion. Robyn tried to argue about that. That interaction made me afraid for the girls in the family. Is Robyn going to try and force her daughters into polygamy? None of Robyn’s girls have left home, and I always remembered that interaction.
Kody exposed himself when he said the only thing I fear is poverty! The only reason he kept Kristine, Janelle, and Mary was for $$$!

I remember when they were all sitting together and Christine said something about, Why couldn't I watch your children? And Robin looked so taken aback and said nothing. That speaks volumes for me.
Robin also said are you serious? Christine said yes I am.

This always did seem odd to me. I mean, hello, free babysitter!
I came across the episode where Kody is telling his 3 wives that he is the one who picked out Robyn's wedding dress and that he and Robyn had kissed. Christine was extremely pregnant with Truly and got up off the couch because she was so upset. It was the first time I noticed that Robyn was clearly smiling at Christine's pain. That was the first glimpse of the true Robyn. She was pleased with the reaction and how Kody was bragging about what they had done.

I didnt see it that way...I felt her shame through the airwaves. All that this tells me is that she can easily be shamed because choice making comes from a victim standpoint. She Feeeeels like a victim all the time.
I couldn't believe Kody told that to all the wives. The way he said it was awful.
We can blame Robin all we want, but that is all Kody.
@@belindanolan5402 Kody doesn't care how others feel, only how HE feels. (Janelle said Kody leaks like a sieve.) It was a terrible choice to tell that fact to the wives who never had that attention to their weddings with Kody. He is lacking good sense.
It appears Kody had had some sort of psychotic break. The aggressive nature in which he forced himself into Suki’s space is why women speak out against men like this. He almost seems like he’s on drugs. It appears he’s going to snap and possibly hurt whoever is nearest him. I wouldn’t trust him anywhere near anyone I love.
He certainly seemed scattered in his thinking. I thought he showed aggression and if I were suki, I would have called him.on his behavior. I don't think he would have grabbed Oprah. She would have put him in a full nelson and called security.

Do you realize that in quite a few clips, earlier in the series, Kody kept telling Robyn to talk with her sister wives to work it out, and Robyn says "you need to take control of this family and make the decisions". This was an intact, functioning family until Robyn came along. Then, it slowly began to unravel. Robyn was the catalyst. She knows she has Kody around her finger, and he will do anything she wants. She has ALL the power, but pretends she is so innocent. Kody is a completely and totally different man than he was before Robyn. It's almost like he's brainwashed. She takes NO accountability, NO responsibility, and has a severe victim complex. Kody is only mad about things that Robyn is mad about. Such as the wives not trying to have a better relationship with her. Of course, Kody has to be responsible for his actions too, but I do believe that he is under the influence of Robyn, and that the innocent victim behavior is an act.
IT'S PAINFULLY CLEAR SHE HAS MANIPULATED HIM SINCE THE BEGINNING!! IDC WHAT CODY SAYS, HE LOVED CHRISTINE, YOU CAN SEE IT IN THE FIRST SEASON!! HE HAD A SOFTNESS TO HIM, AN EASY SMILE, LOVE FOR HIS CHILDREN... NOW HE'S ALWAYS ANGRY, ALWAYS LYING, IT'S LIKE HE'S POSSESSED!!

I had an ex who used to poke me when he was animated in conversation. I told him once I didn't like that. He got very angry at me and later ended up being very abusive. I think for some men, an aggressive, unwanted touch is a display of dominance over someone they perceive as weaker. I doubt my ex would've ever poked his tall, burly male friends.
I think you are absolutely right! Have you ever noticed how an Alpha dog will demonstrate his dominance over other dogs by putting his paw on their heads. That's exactly what Kody reminds me of--an Alpha dog displaying his dominance over others. I admire Suki for not screaming, "Get your filthy hand off of me!"

He even told Suki when she congratulated him on becoming a grandpa again, he went straight into "I've had a whole year to think about things, so I'm prepared for anything you could possibly ask." Then what really gets me in addition to the panting like a dog thing right after that he says "And I mean literally!" Does no one know the definition of literally anymore? There's absolutely no way they were literally panting like dogs & saying "Pick me! Pick me!"
That shows his arrogance. He means to tell us they were the ones that begged to be in this relationship. I was kind enough to swoop them up and give them life with me. So if they wanted it so badly why aren’t they staying. He LITERALLY does not get it.
In the next tell all, please get either a man interviewer or a more dominant woman. Kody controlled that interview and was able to avoid answering questions that he thought would make him look bad.
He is trying to turn everyone against Christine. I have been the victim of a MASSIVE narcissist. She used to lie about me to try to turn everyone against me… When he said that Christine didnt want him to reconcile with Meri…. It brought me right back to that. The knee grab was him trying to get her to his side too. He is getting desperate for people to join his side.
I thought the same thing! I had a narcissist "friend" too who made up bad stories about me behind my back and tried making me look bad in every way and I immediately thought about her tactics when Cody said Christine lost her shi... And especially with the holding back fake tears 🙄🙄🙄
Thankfully I have not had a narcissist in my life. I can't imagine how difficult it would be dealing with someone like that.

He used the tactic of touching Suki's knees the same way he asked her to take back the question last tell all about having a favorite wife! Also he moved interview his way by saying he no longer wanted to talk about Christine. Kody thinks he's endearing to women, but like all sadist, he shows his true colors out loud for all of us to see...
Robyn and Kody are interchangeable talking heads, you can hear how they plot behind the scenes. They are both liars, and I'm willing to expound if the comments ask!

I agree with you! Kody touched Suki's knee (very inappropriately btw) as a means of startling her and gaining control, in an attempt to dominate the interview. He wanted to put her in her place as a women...very offensive! I would like to see him with a male interviewer, just to see the difference in his "behavior".

Robyn is social awkward & I don't think she ever tried to connect with the other wives or kids. She broke the rules from the start. They kissed before marriage, went on a honeymoon when Christine was almost due with a baby. She made a big deal of wedding dress shopping with the wives but then she & Kody went shopping. He favored her from the beginning. Like every family there are certain people that you would never hang out with unless you are related
Actually, they married 39 days after Truely’s birth.
Watching all of the things that have happened between these three women and Kody and Robyn brings back some very painful memories of a similar situation that happened in my family. My brother married a woman that was a Robyn to a tee. The pain and heartache she caused in our family was horrendous. But I'm happy to say she eventually showed her true colors and the family was finally able to see her for the person she really was. Shortly after our big showdown she and my brother packed their bags and moved away. The really sad part of all this was the heartache my mother endured. She trusted my brother and his wife and realized it was the wrong thing to do. My mom had been diagnosed with cancer and past away before my brother's wife was called out for the things she did. It's been close to 30 years and I'm still not able to forgive them. I don't feel I should have too. I can watch these shows and these video clips and see Robyn for exactly what she is. Wolf in sheep's clothing. It's clear that Christine, Janelle and Meri are seeing it themselves now. What they need to do now is hire a good lawyer and go after everything that is rightfully theirs. Robyn has set herself up to get everything. She is now the legal wife and her name and kody's name is on everything. Money these women earned has gone to the purchase of the land and the home Kody and Robyn live in they need to get it back. This show started out as a docu series, and entertainment. It is neither. It's a show that glorifies an illegal abusive lifestyle that should not be shown on television for the world to see. Also it's not just about these adults. The children of these families are being exploited. This is just wrong.

Christine was the glue. Kody can say whatever he wants, he’s unhinged that she held that spot in the family.
I thought it was interesting that in 17 seasons we've never really heard Kody call any of his wives "baby" or other pet names. I wondered if he said "baby" to Suki on accident, because that's how he probably interacts with women who are not his wife, and then he backed up and told the story like it was an interaction with his wife.

I think it's a tactic used by abusive and manipulative males to dominate females who are still not in their control and will not willingly submit to them.
I agree. He was getting aggressive. He was clearly upset. He did back it up a bit to recover.

Robyn reminds me so much of my mum. Very covert in her actions. She’ll be in my dads ear. Defend him no end even when he’s abusive to his kids and other ppl. She’ll deny ever doing wrong . But to the outside world being this delicate flower that no one would believe to be super manipulative. The water works come on the minute you confront her

He can’t control his behavior or emotions. This makes me concerned that he may be using testosterone therapy. He’s becoming more aggressive and erratic.
That sounds plausible… explains the need for the super hero hair and posturing like a rooster.
What really clued me in to Kody lying about the whole Meri thing is when Suki asked "What gift did she get you?" and he took forever to respond. If you were truly considering it, then you'd remember what that gift was but it's like he's roladexing in his brain what gift would fit the situation he's describing. That's even more evident by the story Meri told of the rest of that day. Then obviously the fact that Meri has no recollection of a family event where Christine stormed out.
It's obvious he is lying to attempt make himself look better.
I also found it so funny that a Rice Krispy treat was supposedly the thing that changed his mind. 😂 A gift. It's like "Oh yes, you have paid homage so I will NOW consider your offer". 😂😂😂

I was watching I think backwoods Barbie? Anyway. The rice Krispies treat happened last year. Christine was already gone last year. It doesn't add up.
Does kody realize that everything is on tape FOREVER, and that people WILL take the time to verify his statements?
let's just call it what it really is: in his desperate attempt to appear as a victim, Kody majorly overacted. in the end he just made himself look fake and disingenuous. he's like a little kid who's trying way too hard to sell a lie and the adults around him can see right through it.
I believe he has adult ADHD. Or maybe bi- polar. He goes off on tangents way too often. Doesn’t seem to be able to focus and always comes up with these speeches that try to make him look intelligent or he has control over everything. Uses euphemisms

I kinds of agree with your take on Robyn. I think her being able to self quarantine with Kody and her family was nirvana for her.
I hadn't thought about Robyn's social behavior being "awkward"... I had always thought she was calculated. Now that you mention that aspect, it makes me wonder if part of her behavior is more emotional immaturity than planned manipulation. Interesting idea.
Yeah imagine being raised in a secluded, private cult that believes women are meant to breed and support the priesthood holder, and can't even get into heaven unless they're married. All social interactions are geared around the belief system, the "covenant," and she went from that to a more open, "normal" family structure in many ways. Even though she married into a polygamist family, her emotional maturity was so ... not mature lol. She wasn't able or prepared to handle those adult relationships with other women. After going through a divorce, she was probably also in survival mode and really needed help to feed and raise her children, as she has said before. She was looking for a responsible man to take care of her kids. Kody fell hard in love. Interesting irony there, but I think David is clearly on to something with the social interactions being immature. And people who are emotionally immature DO manipulate others to fill their needs. It's childlike.
Exactly...and if you examine the behavior and conversations she has with her daughters, etc. you realize there is a BIG BIG problem with emotional maturity here. Her daughter (who are innocent children btw) definitely have too much eye contact. Staring is a real thing for under 5 yrs of age....usually people grow out of it.
I've wondered if at least one or 2 of her kids are autistic. Maybe she is???

I find it interesting that Robyn had more control over her crying and Kody had less, it’s like he’s taking on that roll.
100 % Kody stands in front of a mirror daily saying…..’I love me. I am amazing. Everybody wishes they were a wife.’ Meanwhile behind him is Robyn saying…’YES, my love. You are correct. You are the only person who should matter. Youre big and strong and powerful.’ That’s what I see happening.

I think Robin is a covert narcissist, it’s more important for her to be a victim rather than have a real relationship with the other ladies.

She is a covert narcissist, I grew up with one and so many of the same behaviors are there. She plays innocent and loving but we do get to see glimpses of her true self with her children's reactions to the rest of the family. She has isolated them, makes them feel the family doesn't accept them, triangulates with Kody. They deserve each other.

I tried so hard to spot one actual tear well up in Robyn's eyes...let alone see one fall. She was being manipulative there. And, if she's manipulating there, I'm sure she is elsewhere. Her and Kody lie a lot, and I just don't buy their rhetoric.
I agree, there's something about Robyn... She seems slow at reading social cues. She acts defensive before relationships or even interaction with others is established. She tends to withdraw instead of reaching out to others. Then, acts like a victim, as if the non-interaction was not her choice.
As a woman, I was PISSED at the way Kody behaved in this. First of all, I REALLY DOUBT Janelle and Christine begged Kody to marry them, Secondly, DO NOT TOUCH WOMEN WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION!!! Who the hell does he THINK he is?? I sincerely believe that if I were the interviewer, I would have slapped him right across the face for suddenly grabbing my thigh like that. That is threatening to a woman and for many of us, a HUGE trigger. Kody has LOST IT.
She didn’t mind at all. She put her hand on his, leaned toward him and said “it’s okay”. I get the feeling that they know each other outside of the tell all interviews.

They need a male interviewer next time. Taller than Kody, better looking that kody and that would intimidate the hell out of kody.
Kody has no clue how a grown up, mature man behaves nor does he have any idea how to live or speak with honesty or loyalty. He's so immature and clueless.

The fact that Robyn feels her kids can't be away from Kody for a couple of days infuriates me. She went on an 11 day honeymoon when Christine had JUST given BIRTH. There is such a double standard that isn't being addressed, and I wish the host would show them old clips that contradict and make them watch the clips, then explain their actions and choices.

Oh my gosh I wish I could tell you exactly what interview or episode it is...BUT Robyn later admits that her son Dayton has never been formally diagnosed on the Autism spectrum. Her reasoning for it was she could "Just tell."

I'm so glad you've addressed the issue of neurodivergence in Robyn. I've been concerned about her for years. She definitely has shown signs of Tardive Dyskinesia during sit downs with the tongue out of control which indicates she's been medicated for a while.
I had to look up neurodivergent. It does seem to apply to robin. Good word to know. Thanks. Also tardive dyskinesia. It really explains a lot concerning Robin's facial contortions.
Robyn has anxiety disorder and so do her two older daughters. Her oldest daughter has panic attacks. She had one on camera when they were told they had to move out of their rental in Flagstaff in 60 days. Kody had to pick her up and take her to her bedroom. I think that's why they don't film much with Robyn and her children anymore, especially in the house. I think there's a lot going on with Robyn and her kids that we don't know about. I wonder if it's damaging them to be on the show.
There is no doubt it’s damaging to her children for them ( the family) to be on television. She’s definitely sheltering them but the money is necessary in their mind.
Yes I think that’s right. Omg. The more you keep a kid away from a normal life seeing people the more she won’t even be able leave the house for anything. The panic attacks get worse. She wants them never to leave her that’s why she followed son to college. He’s so angry because in his mind everyone has turned on him, everyone is the enemy and doesn’t appreciate him and all the things he has done for the family. He said it himself, what he fears most is poverty. Wives leaving = poverty. Wives leaving = maybe losing the show = poverty. wives leaving taking assets = poverty. Wives leaving = he’s the bad guy, image shot. His façade of great hubby in a wonderful plural marriage is over. All this three times over, no wonder he has cracked. He’s been exposed and I doubt he will ever take ownership of the damage he’s done to his family, as he waves the flag of “unappreciated and betrayed victim” that he cannot see past. Sad.

When Cody reached out and grabbed her leg, it was an aggressive assault. He was upset with her questions and he wanted to stop her. She defensively put her hand over his hand to stop him from moving it. Her action conveyed STOP.

Yes!!!! I’m so glad you mentioned Robyn’s neurodivergence!!!!! I’ve always thought this!!! My two sons have autism and one also has ADHD. I’ve learned through research for them that I have a lot of similar traits and issues! I’ve also wondered about her other children as well. Her oldest daughter obviously has crippling anxiety and her baby using the pacifier for so long made me think she might have some sensory issues as well. My son was ADDICTED to a pacifier and if we would have let him he’d still be using it today. I always wonder if that’s why she’s sheltering her kids and rarely shows them. It wouldn’t be uncommon if her youngest boy could also have some stuff going on and she doesn’t want to talk about it on the show.
Yes. Neurodivergence has a strong genetic link, so it’s very likely that her oldest inherited it from somewhere. I actually could see how several members of the brown family could be ND. I don’t like Robyn, because I do feel like she’s taken advantage of her position as the favorite without much regard for the other wives, so I am by no means trying to excuse her poor treatment of the rest of the family here. Being ND doesn’t automatically make you incapable of manipulation or treating others poorly.
That being said, I could absolutely see how a lot of the things she does or ways she acts, could be the result of being ND. I’m autistic/adhd myself and I cry at the drop of a hat, and have often been accused of being manipulative or dramatic because of it. I also think Ari seems to display quite a lot of potential ND characteristics.

I think Kody added that second explanation when Suki started comforting him, “It’s okay!” and he perceived she didn’t realize he was only re-enacting what he claims to have said to Robyn, Janelle and Christine.

I think you make a good point about Robyn. It's like there's something in her that just doesn't click. The inability to understand why the other 3 wives had a bond that she didn't have immediately, even though they lived together and raised kids from birth together, and as one commenter mentioned, expecting the 3 to devote their time to her business when they had their own responsibilities. She seems hard to get to know as a friend. The fact that she is crying about Christine leaving because she sees them hanging out in a rocker when they get older... I'm like why would you think that?
I think there was a very revealing moment in this family that showcases the root of some of the problems between the sister wives. In the beginning seasons, when Christine, Janelle, and Meri spoke on how they made it work in sharing a man, Christine said one of the rules they had between the wives is that they would not be intimate with Kody in front of the other sister wives. In particular they do not kiss in front of each other or cuddle. Christine framed it as a way the sister wives respected the other relationships. Just after Robyn came into the family she said she wanted to kiss her husband whenever she wanted, wherever she wanted, and every one else should, too. It was a big rule to break and I can see how it could be felt as disrespectful, especially since they were doing the newlywed thing. Robyn has her own rules for what she wants her marriage and life to look like and that's fine if she was monogamous. Then again, I guess now she is.
That was a very bizarre interaction indeed. My interpretation of it is that he was like "reenacting" what he said to one of the wives, talking to Suki as if she was the wife. "Baby, maybe Meri and I can work it out!?" "Baby" being how he was addressing the wife, with Suki playing the role of the wife in the reenactment. But who the hell knows! LOL
Except the conversation probably only happened in his imagination. I doubt he ever said this to the other wives, especially Christine. He certainly didn't say it to the one person he should have...Meri.

As a parent with a child on the spectrum, I could see that argument. Our family misses out on social situations and group activities because of ASD. Robyn's clan couldn't assimilate into the organic Brown group.

Then, they make next to nothing in payments and end up having to move. When they said in the last actual episode they move about every five years I wondered if this was why

Thank you!! I am so happy that you mention Robin's son. As a mother to an adult on the spectrum, I can't believe that this isn't a larger part of the equation. I can tell you that I have no doubt that Robin's main focus is her son and whatever program he is working. When you are trying to get these children to be functioning adults with therapies, schooling, relationship challenges etc., there is very little time and frankly not a lot of energy, to develop relationships with family. Your expectation is that family will understand. They don't. They can't because it isn't their reality. I pray that they all get the help that they need to recover from the destruction of their families.

I think your analysis is spot on. Robin has difficulty forming friendships so she thought marrying into an existing family would provide her with built in friends that she didnt have to cultivate. She didn't anticipate the wives abandoning the marriage destroying her vision of the porch with sister wives and grandchildren.

I don’t think you can ignore Robyn’s upbringing. She grew up in a polygamist family and has stated that they couldn’t publicly acknowledge her father. My thought has always been that her behavior is attention-seeking, and that she is attempting to fill some emotional void. It would be interesting to know what her family of origin dynamics were.

Kody was so unsettling in the scenes you mentioned. I'm pretty sure Janelle and Christine did not LITERALLY pant for Kody, but you can literally feel Suki's discomfort with him. Robyn acted terrible in season 1 toward the wives, starting with taking them wedding dress shopping and making them believe that they were a part of this, but then went and bought her dress with Kody and tried to lie to the wives. Of course Kody spilled the beans. Season 1 was full of moments like this, so I know exactly why I don't like Robyn and I'm not surprised Janelle and Christine had a hard time trusting her and opening up to her on top of having been the favorite wife thing.
I think you are spot on with the whole autism spectrum aspect and Robin. I have 2 kids on the spectrum and I always say we as parents have some traits even if we don’t have autism. Kody is just so odd. That was so inappropriate of him to touch her. You could tell she was freaked out.

You’re spot on. Kody is not approaching this authentically he’s acting. He thinks Christine’s leaving is his opportunity to reframe his image and change the narrative. He knows his favoritism of Robyn has made people hate him and he couldn’t fix that with treating the other wives better because deep down he just didn’t want to. So now Christine has left and he has a shot at being the sympathetic figure in his mind. It’s why there is so much incongruity between what he says, how he acts, and what he does. He isn’t smart enough to have foreseen the incongruity of him saying he’s “heartbroken” that she’s leaving, but also saying he was “never attracted or in love” with her. He wants to have it both ways so he doesn’t look like a chump getting dumped, but also looks like the sympathetic figure that we should all feel bad for. Well, people “feel bad” for others when they are the chump who’s been dumped! We don’t feel bad for people who were dumped by someone they never liked to begin with. But because he isn’t as smart as he thinks he is, he didn’t think about that and therefore everything he says is contradictory to other things he says and does.

Thank you, Allison! I was hoping David knew about Dayton’s ASD. That could explain some of Robyn’s inability to see other peoples perspective of their relationships. She wants so badly to have friends, but she’s awkward. Her perspective is skewed.

Ok. Dr. We have to take you back to school. For those of us that have worked with the Robyn type, we have lived the nightmare. Her type charms the male boss and plays the victim role so well. They stretch the truth. They tell stories about others and take things out of context. They leave out how they manipulated a scenario and they go and cry to the boss about how they are being unfairly treated by the "mean people" and the man boss comes in with his cape and loves to puff his chest and play the hero and act like the ethical one who tells everyone to treat his "favorite" respectfully. Robyn's type is happiest when she is the special one.

If you look back a few episodes. Janelle brought up how aloof she is and how she is always so shocked and Janelle's like how could you not know? Janelle thought she was doing it on purpose pretending like she was clueless. I think it was 2 or 3 episodes back
I remember that. others have called Robyn aloof also. And a restaurant server called her rude. Remember when they were on a panel about polygamy and Robin snarled at Christine's Aunt saying "Don't twist my words, sweetie!!" And the Aunt wasn't twisting anything.. she was just asking a question. Does Robyn hear things in her brain that are not actually said?

Excellent commentary. What Robyn seems to be lacking, in my opinion, is sincerity. She lacks it in the way she speaks and her actions don’t match her words. If she truly desired a close relationship with her sister wives, she would have been more supportive of them. Instead, she chooses to side with Kody and to encourage his superior treatment of her. This is the role she really covets. It’s hard to bond when you are actively subverting others.

Cringe is the perfect title... Kody's behavior is so beyond cringe. Thank you for hitting every nail on the head. I also enjoy so much the discussion between you and your wife on watch companion. And particularly appreciated the nod to the rumors of him taking testosterone or steroids as his behavior changes and escalations seem to honestly bring that to question. He has been seen in episodes weight lifting, pumping his muscles and wearing Spartan Race gear. Inquiring minds do wonder though without confirmation I'll not say it's the case. Robin is not afraid of leaving the house! Look at the pictures of her and Cody out shopping at Victoria's Secret arm in arm big smiles on both their faces! She just doesn't want to leave her house to attend functions with the other wives and their children.
