Hi, I really appreciate your video, so well detailed! But I was wondering: my breaks are leaking on the pistons, I've found oil all over my rotors and the pads. Do I need to replace the whole system or just the calipers? Or maybe a break fluid bleeding would be enough (after a thorough clean as well)?? Thank you . I'm desperate to solve this problem, I haven't used my bike for months due to squealing brakes!
@@NiceBikeService thank you for replying. I was asking since the people at the bike shop had no clue, plus I'm more hands on trying to solve it myself. After all I've learnt I'm gonna bleed the system first and see if that corrects the problem, I've also sanded the rotors and pads hoping to eliminate the oil. Otherwise I will replace the callipers as a last resort before I give up! I've had a lot of patience with this bike already.. I bought it second hand and when I tried it I thought it would be a matter of bedding the pads in and the squealing would go away, but I was totally new to hydraulic brakes so I didn't know this could be such a persistent problem. Well thanks for your help and I will subscribe for sure. 👍

do not bleed like this ! Use the yellow block and not the orange. With the orange you have a risk of putting to much liquid into the system, and in case of rising temperature (heavy braking in summer for example), the membrane compensator volume can be insuffiscient and the pression could pop up the purging screw of the lever
@@NiceBikeService if not the screw, the membrane can be broken. Wasn't it the original problem with your lever ?
In the EZ bleed brake bleed kit, there is a yellow block, so you take the pads out and insert the block,also no risk of contamination of the brake pads 😁👍

Why I refuse to upgrade to disc brakes including hydralic.
However, there are not too many problems with them, it is better to ride in frosty weather 😉
@@NiceBikeService Having normal disc brakes in the front and v brakes in the rear I have experienced issues in winter time or wet with my front brakes no matter how I adjust them. In dry weather they stop on a dime. My Shimano vbrakes have never given me issues in those conditions. Now again that is my experience maybe not others.
