Deb had some of the most insightful commentary on both Dirty Dancing and the Seen It movies that maybe any guest has ever had, Craig included. Big props!
Wow, the energy this episode is great. It's like a brother and sister having fun watching a film together. 9:21 I believe you're thinking of The Hoff, Matt
Wowzah!! I've enjoyed most of your 'guest hosts' so far, but Deb **nailed** it. She brings such a different and fresh energy to the table and her breakdown of Barbie was fantastic! PLEASE invite her back again! ❤❤❤
Deb was bang on about the Barbie movie, so wise to say that folks (of all genders really) ought to explore these ideas through play. Make time for play, people! Let yourself be silly!
I’m so glad you read my comment and I’m so glad we were lucky enough to have Deb in the basement to share her thoughts on Barbie (and so many other things)! I hope she becomes a regular in the rotation of guests!
I saw Dirty Dancing for the first time just a few years ago at a local drive-in. They played it as the second show in a double feature, the first movie was Grease. I had my pre-concieved notion of Dirty Dancing that it was a silly romantic comedy about a girl who learns to dance. I was not expecting the abortion subplot, my jaw dropped when they first started talking about it, and there's a particular line after the event happens when someone says the doctor did it on a card table with a rusty knife that had me surprised. It was such tonal whiplash.
I have never seen this movie before, but was well acquainted with the plot due to cultural osmosis. I had absolutely no idea it took place in 1963; just assumed it was set in whatever year the movie came out.
Deb brought such a great energy to the basement, I hope she comes back again soon! Also, I totally agree with the assessment of Across the Spiderverse. People hyped it up like it was the best thing to ever happen, but I thought it kind of stunk! The art direction was all over the place and SO DISTRACTING at times, and the ending cliffhanger could not have been handled worse. Woof!
The plot and themes of class in this story were so over my head when I was a kid. I didn't understand the significance of The Fountainhead (Never read it) until I was in my twenties and learned about Ayn Rand.
Just finished the episode and she nailed it! Deb has great takes and is so good at naturally engaging with and even directing the discussion. I'd love to see her on again!
I frickin' love Deb. I'm so happy to see her in the basement! Also, if there's any shorthand to show that your character is a total scumbag, it's having that character a fan of Ayn Rand.
I 100% understand the plight of having VHS tapes and feeling like you can't part with them. I've sold a fair amount of mine over the years, but there's definitely a select dozen or so that were such a big part of my childhood that they get a special spot on my shelf. I don't even own a working VCR anymore, so I'm keeping them purely for the sake of having them. I'm sure I'll probably be buried with them.
Love Deb! Hope you bring her back again! Just kinda wish there was at least *one* Law and Order joke in the video. Jerry Orbach is one of my favourites.
I know that there won't be a consistent cohost anymore down in the basment but if there were to be one Deb has been my favorite by far. Great for comdey but also great for the very thoughtful discussion like Craig used to be.
Deb needs to show up more often. Trivia: Swayze's mother was a professional dance teacher which made him already have the skill set. Him and the character are kind of similar in that they're both skilled but his mom was always hard on him and the character is lacking in his own ways. Swayze recalled the actress as being moody during the film and requesting constant retakes at times.
have you seen Bradley Cooper's Maestro? many shots were quite impressive, and i quite liked the use of color and how the scenes always look like they're from the year they were supposed to be happening in
Deb really gets to the heart of the movie. She needs to be a regular.
The minute she said problematic I was like ohh god . And to be honest not funny at all just more judgmental and finger wagging
She instantly catapulted on to the Dream Team roster.
I agree! We need more Deb! She's insightful, funny, and cute.
YES! DEB! She is fantastic on Beer and Board Games and I am so happy she's on this too!
I adore Deb and burst out in excitement when I saw her
She caught the movie easily, the power of the basement is strong with this one
Dirty Dancing still feels so modern to me. One of the greatest films of the entire 1980's!
This seemed like one of the most intelligent episodes ever, based on the Seen It convo between Matt and Deb. Great guest, great show!
Deb had some of the most insightful commentary on both Dirty Dancing and the Seen It movies that maybe any guest has ever had, Craig included. Big props!
Deb needs to come back! She's so great
Wow, the energy this episode is great. It's like a brother and sister having fun watching a film together.
9:21 I believe you're thinking of The Hoff, Matt
I was also thinking brother and sister vibes. I loved it
Yep, I want Deb as the new mainstay.
That read on Barbie is the first thought on the movie that hasn't made me want to tear my hair out.
WE 👏 LOVE 👏 DEB! 👏 Always a pleasure to see her and hear that amazing laugh. Mazeltov for breaking the WTTB glass ceiling, Deb! ❤
How great to see Deb on the show!
Deb should put her dad’s fav VHS movies in a shadowbox, then it’s retro art.
I don't usually watch Welcome to the Basement, but I will watch literally anything with Deb in it. Also Hey Hey Where's my Basement made my day
Deb fits in so well with the consistency of all the other guests! i hope she gets into the regular rotation.
Wowzah!! I've enjoyed most of your 'guest hosts' so far, but Deb **nailed** it.

MORE DEB PLEASE!?! Like always, she’s awesome! Great fit for the show and you! Excellent analysis of Barbie btw!❤
Deb was bang on about the Barbie movie, so wise to say that folks (of all genders really) ought to explore these ideas through play. Make time for play, people! Let yourself be silly!
Deb was absolutely great--funny and astute
Deb needs to be on the show more often! She was so funny
I love Deb!!! And you have a fun energy together
I’m so glad you read my comment and I’m so glad we were lucky enough to have Deb in the basement to share her thoughts on Barbie (and so many other things)! I hope she becomes a regular in the rotation of guests!
Deb was great! Would love for her to be back another time!
deb is fantastic omg i need her to be a permanent host, perfect comedic chemistry w matt!!!
8:30 "Ninth-degree black belt in Simon Says" nearly made me choke on what I was snacking on. Well done.
"Simon Says put Baby in the corner."
Patrick Swayze: *takes deep breath*
I have watched many episodes of this show. This episode was delightful.
Deb needs to be a regular! Hands down! I subscribed finally (my fiance has been subscribed forever and we watch it together). Deb 2024! Make it be so.

Debs is Lovely ❤❤ more Debs please !! ❤
Deb’s awesome!!!!❤❤❤
Deb dropping the Ted Lasso truth bomb! 10/10, no notes
Never heard or seen anything of deb, but i love her. Very funny and a great episode!
She's a (semi-)frequent guest on Beer and Board Games. I'm not sure I've seen her in anything where she was less than great.
I recommend the funemployed episode

Like Patrick and Jennifer, Matt and Deb make a great team! I hope Deb will be a regular. Thanks for this enjoyable and funny episode!
Love this episode! I hope Deb comes back!
Deb is amazing! We need to see her on a regular basis. Excellent episode, as always. (And both Patrick Swayze & Don Johnson had singing 'careers'. )
Really enjoyed this episode! Have been looking forward to you watching this, Matt. Ever since you admitted to never seeing it. Really fun insights.
Deb is always great, and I really appreciated her analysis of all the movies you two talked about. Thanks for a great show!
Deb was great, probably the best guest for this show since Craig. I would love for her to be back on the couch.
Deb is a fantastic guest, loved this ep!
This cohost is excellent hopefully we see more of Deb
I love Deb. ❤❤❤
Best guest host by quite some distance
Matt "looking around" and not being noticed by Deb amused me.
Deb is a great conversationalist. You must have her in future episodes.
Oh heck yes Deb is on welcome to the basement! I love this!
Deb has hella insight! Please invite her back! ❤
Yay Deb!
Is this Deb's first appearance??? It feels like she's been here for years. Love her energy!!
Seen it! The Elephant Man, it maybe my favourite David Lynch film
Seen it! The original Scarface from 1932, way ahead of its time and is still entertaining to this day.
Great episode. Shoutout to the dollar sign necklace that was Charlie Brown/Blarn's.
This was really great! Thanks WTTB!
Love Deb.
Deb was great, please bring her back!
Seen it? Book of Clarence? I saw it last month and I left thinking it was pretty good, but I haven't stopped thinking about it!
YES, DEB!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤🤌
Seen it! The Northman, a brutal but beautiful movie reminiscent of a Shakespeare play
I love that this is the movie they are watching this is going to be excellent
I would love to see you do Peeper with Michael Caine.
Same Matt, I can't hang out with my shirt off even by myself as well
I love Deb! I'm very excited to see what she brings to this format!
Just finished the episode and she nailed it! Deb has great takes and is so good at naturally engaging with and even directing the discussion. I'd love to see her on again!
Gotta love Deb ❤
Deb was great! I would love to see her more! 🤞🤞🤞
really great episode :) thanks Matt and Deb!
Deb is a great guest.
Love Deb! ❤❤
She's amazing. Hilarious 😂😂
I frickin' love Deb. I'm so happy to see her in the basement!
Also, if there's any shorthand to show that your character is a total scumbag, it's having that character a fan of Ayn Rand.
Seconding all the praise for Deb, she felt like she'd been a guest for ages (despite not getting the name of the show right 😂)
I 100% understand the plight of having VHS tapes and feeling like you can't part with them. LOVED hearing your insights on Barbie, Deb - I'll need to give it a try!
I stg if you don't get her on as a regular host. These vibes are ✨perfection✨
IT'S DEBBBBBBBBB 🤩🤩🤩
Great episode!
YAY! DEB!!! 😀
MORE DEB PLEASE!!!😃
And ive been watching since the start.. Make Deb a regular..
Seen it ! Flubber
I always wear a Timex watch when I watch a Patrick Swayze movie.
Love Deb! Hope you bring her back again!
Just kinda wish there was at least *one* Law and Order joke in the video. Jerry Orbach is one of my favourites.

My mouth is watering at Deb’s exquisite taste in chocolates.
hey matt, could you do a scene it of the movie "random harvest"? it was my grandmother's favorite film
She's like the wind, through my tree.... - Patrick Swayze song
I feel the magic between "you and me." Not "I."
Wow... she's a damn good co-host.
LINDOOOR 👌
Deb needs to show up more often.

I'm calling it hhwmb from now on 👍
Until this video, it was just obvious to me that Dirty Dancing was set in the 80’s… I was born 1980 for reference.
Well I certainly had the time of my life. A time anyway. Probably not THE time but I enjoyed myself.
New monthly rotation should be Deb,Rob, Tony, and other guests 4th weekend.
Honestly surprised matt has never seen this movie.
Patrick Swayze´s music career was She´s like the wind.
Hey, hey! Where’s my basement?
Permanent co-host? Huh Matt?🤔😏
Loved all of the guest hosts, but I love Deb the most... Please have her back.
