DO NOT get the SWRCR-59D if you have steering wheel controls as this video suggests; as it is NOT compatible with any Jeep Patriots. Get the SWRCR-59 (no "D" at the end of the model name). Unfortunately, now I have to go through the hastle of returning the SWRCR-59D I ordered because I trusted these instructions. Thats a little frustrating. I recommend correcting this in your description.
Very nice thorough video! I will be performing a radio install on my patriot this weekend hopefully and this eased my mind a bit on the process! Doesn't seem too hard actually. I also opted for crutchfield's ready harness so I shouldn't have to solder any of the connections for the harness. Thanks !
I did this and I have never done it before. Actually didn't like the first unit and installed a different one. First install took about 3.5 hours end to end including running backup camera. The second install about an hour. These kits make it pretty easy
Its mis leading this video. There are more wires than you talk about. There are 2 connnectors where the antanna run to and there are 3 connecters on the back of stock radeo. Yes before you ask. Yes it is a basic stock radeo no controls on the steering wheel... So this doesnt go for basic sound at all. There is 3 extra contions to the basic sound radeo
Thanks, it is very useful. I have the same car. But, I do have the controllers behind my wheel and I’m trying to install a new radio and a backup camera (:
My son and I watched your video and set out to replace his radio with a new stereo the same one you used for his 2012 Jeep Patriot. Before soldering the wires, he wanted to make sure it would power up so he twisted the wires together. After connecting the harness into the stereo, It did power on. When he turned off the car and pulled out the keys to open his trunk and came back to turn it back on again, the new stereo all right did not turn on. We tried connecting his old radio, and that also did not turn. Trying to troubleshoot this did it short circuit or did we lose power? Can you please assist in some troubleshooting avenues thank you very much.
What do you do if you already have a screen in your jeep. the factory one without carplay and you want your steering wheel controls and your stock backup camera as well as your car mics to work. just cerious very need to electrical with cars
Yes, you can retain all those features (besides the OEM mic) when installing a new radio. if you want specific help on parts, shoot us a message on facebook or instagram.
Do you have a video that provides more detail on installing the relay you added for the backup camera? If not, can you provide a part number and some information on how to install?
I have an 08 Nitro with Nav and the 9 speaker Infiniti system. I hooked everything up but have no sound and a beeping when I use the steering wheel controls. There are 2 large harnesses on the vehicle side. What did I do wrong? My head unit is a JVC M780BT and I have the SWRCR-59. Thanks in advance.
Can you please make a quick video about the usb portion of the radio, specifically how to wire it and install the part into the center console. Thanks!
It wasn't a personal vehicle, sorry. I just drilled in a hole, mounted the USB, and ran the cables to the radio. Here is a short that may be helpful: th-cam.com/users/shortsg9II3VS7RJc
Thanks for the video - very helpful. I'm installing a Sony XAV-AX4000 , Crux CR-CS41 & backup camera. Can I use a Bosch style relay to wire the camera to accessory?
I have a question about the factory sound system. My 2016 Jeep Patriot is the very basic one manual one, but when I was in the car junk I found a Latitude one with the boston subwoofer. Does the Jeep Patriot basic ones models has the harness cables to make the subwoofer upgrade in the back. Thanks.
Parts are linked in video, but labor varies based on the shop you take it to. Some shops wont use parts brought to them either, so you will just have to call around. Most retail stores can't match amazon pricing, so expect to pay more.
Will replacing the stock radio to an aftermarket radio mess with the anti theft on my 2014 jeep patriot latitude? My stock radio is making a popping with a little static after I removed my auxiliary cable and will make the popping sound but it will play music for 5 to 6 seconds an stops and then plays an then stops it does it when the FM is on or CDs or anything not sure what's wrong all the fuses are good so any ideas on how to fix it or should I just replace it?
A properly installed radio should have no effect on your anti theft. The popping noise is the internal radio amplifier that has gone bad. I just sent a Jeep radio out for repair for the exact same thing. It was a $300 repair. Compare that to an average cost of about $500 to install a new touch screen radio (Sony, JVC, Kenwood, etc) That being said, the features of a new radio, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, back up camera, hands free phone calls and audio make it worth it in my opinion.
the 2014 model has a red wire (idk the appropriate name) and that has to connect to give the new radio power. it's not plug and play unfortunately :/ at least thats the trouble i've had
Your vehicle requires a smart harness as there is no red accessory / ignition wire at the radio (it's all driven by data canbus). The harness we used and recommend in the description of the video is what you need for the install. Get the right harness, the install is easy!
@@ProvoBeastAudioappreciate it. we do have the harness with the canbus but it doesn’t fit unfortunately. I’ll re-watch the video and buy/do what is needed. Thank you
If you use the correct harness for the jeep, it's provided in the harness and no need to find accessory anywhere else. From you comment, sounds like you don't have the right harness adapter.

This install video made it so simple. Getting the support brace off was tough due to angles… overall great video
Can you tell me more about the relay needed to power the backup camera to the accessory wire? I would like to set my sons up just like this.

How is the am / fm radio reception on this unit, can you please advise, had trouble with aftermarket radio radio reception.

How many inches would be the Stereo to put in that patriot without any adapters?
You’ll need adapters, regardless of the screen size.
what size relay did you use and how you wire it in?
Thank you!!!!!!
Do you recommend installing the back up camera at the same time as the apple car play?

not sure but i have a latitude with that sub and it’s great
The crux module SWRCR-59D didn’t fit on my car
I have a 2015 Jeep patriot with SWC
The pins didn’t match up to the crux module
I bought everything you used in your video and it did not work out because of the module harness can you please advise
