Great info. I have been using a custom DSLR camera trap for a few years in south Florida. I focus on panthers, bobcats, and bears. I really like the diy motion trigger you mention in the video. Can you tell me, or show a video, about how it works. Does it keep triggering the camera to take pictures while there is motion, or does it only trigger the camera once per trigger? I watched the Vivitar 2800 flash mod but it doesn't appear the output of the flash can be adjusted after tweaking. Samples of my work can be seen on fb "Panther Cams". Thanks.
The trigger is fully programmable but not easy to do it has a chip. Out of the box it is a passive trigger so as there is motion the trigger will continuously trigger the camera. We can totally do a video on this.
We have not! However we are very carful to set these up where it would be hard to find them unless you know where they are. We do lock the camera up to a tree when we put them up off of our property. I am making a video where we show a 3rd set up that has a lock.
Kendra and John, a new subscriber to your channel, good video keep it up. Cheers from Andrew in Ottawa Canada
Thanks! Glad you are enjoying!
Thanks. I’m going to try and put one together.
Let us know if you have any questions!! Tomorrow’s video will be helpful!

@@AbbottNature So much good info in your video. I am not capable of doing the diy for the trigger. Can I pay you to build a couple for me?
@@AbbottNature Ugg, sounds like lots of false triggers. I think Camtraptions has a more user-friendly trigger.
Ever have a problem with equipment theft or vandalism? Thank you for sharing!
