The photo of the fox was more than worth the effort invested. Very good video, thank you very much for sharing your experiences, which are very interesting.
Aaah.. the trials and tribulations of camera trapping..!! I know all of those feelings well John, but the photo you did manage to come away with was fab..! I'm looking forward to your next setup..!! All the best to you.. g
He John, thanks for the interresting video, unfortunately camera trapping is all about the ups and the downs ;-) I've got 1 question, what kind of poles do you use for the flashes? They seem handy :-)
Hi, Thanks for the kind words. The poles are telescopic landing net poles left over from my fishing days. I have fitted the top thread with a bank stick camera adapter, which has a 1/4-20 male thread to fit the flash receivers. The adapters are pretty cheap and can be picked up on Ebay.
They are simply made by bolting a small ball head to a 4" (100mm) eye screw with a short 1/4-20 thread bolt and washer, They are cheap to make and very versatile. You may be able to see them in a little more detail in an earlier video here: th-cam.com/video/Tll06VGWbX0/w-d-xo.html
Hi Daryl, I use the SB24, SB25, SB28 and the SB80DX. They all have the standby mode and all seem to work as well as each other. The only one I dont have any experience with is the SB 26, although it does have a standby mode and looks very similar in spec to the SB 25, so i would imagine it would work just as well. Hope this helps. Regards John.

Thanks George. It can test your patience at times, but when you get a decent shot, the problems are soon forgotten. Hope your keeping well. 👍
Beautiful photos of badgers in the gallery.
Thanks, much appreciated. 👍
Great showing the ups and downs John and ever the optimist.
Thanks Barry, sometimes there are more downs than ups but it can be so rewarding when things work out. 👍
