I decided to perm my own hair after 10 years of getting it done professionally. My husband helped me. Yah I permed my daughters hair at home roughly one year ago with the exact perm she used in one of her other videos. It was the One & Only Alkaline, & her hair isn’t curly anymore but it’s still wavy even without product in it! Oh & let me add that I went & got a perm years ago at a salon & my hair was the same. Took over a year or longer for the perm to completely fade out.

does styling your hair wet often affect the longevity of the perm?
My hair is wavy and slightly curly but it’s Damaged and dry like some strands are but i want good curls do you think perming will help
I've been doing hair for 28 yrs. The colors do matter, because the color determines the size of the curl you will have. Also the direction you roll them matters. Pink or peach is usually the largest and white is the smallest. You have done a great job. My hair has gotten very thin, but I want to do an S perm. Have you ever done an S perm with the bendy rods? 🤗
Can you rinse neutralizer out with rods in?

I do heatless curls with the flexi rods and that usually lasts me about a week before it looks wavy. Takes maybe half an hour to do. So, time pay our wise a perm might not actually be worth it. 🤔 I've been debating a perm for literally 15 years now, I love curly hair but mine is usually just a frizzy mess if I don't actively curl it (I won't use heat on my hair). My daughter has curly hair naturally and so does my youngest son. I just can't decide if the effort is worth it to perm mine... >
I want to try a perm on myself! But my hair is long, and so thick, I’m afraid my arms will fall off before i have it all rolled! Yours came out great!

Thank you your perms always turn out beautifully like a salons. Im trying a home perm tomorow on virgin hair, trying to achieve tight spiral curls. Have you ever used the One n Only low ammonia texturizing perm? If you have can you comment if it would be able to achieve this result?🙏🏽

Have you ever tried leaving the rods in to rinse neutralizer? Maybe the curls will stay more intact?
You can also first rinse the neutralizer with the rods in and then take them out and rinse again.
I only wash my hair twice a week too!

Mine looks like yours on the second day. I just did it like 12 hours ago. I’m freaking out. I’m going to try to make it to 72 hours without wetting it. The back looks straight from the mid shaft down 😩 but the front on my left side is so curly. The right side of my bangs are straight at the root. Y’all please send me beautiful perm energy. I’ll come back to update you all after my first shampoo 😭
