I decided to perm my own hair after 10 years of getting it done professionally. My husband helped me. He had no idea what he was doing and he was trying to follow my instructions...We had so much fun during the process because we were constantly laughing and hoping for the best 🤣It turned out great. I am so proud of him and so happy with my curls!
I just found this video and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for it!! I am a young 62 and FINALLY have the beautiful curls of my youth back. You are not only beautiful but are a great teacher as well. Thank you!! xoxo
I am a cosmetologist ( 40 plus years) and will say that you did an EXCELLENT job on your hair! Beautiful work! It is great that you are showing people that they can do this!
Thank you! I would always COMB out my hair right after I took the rods out! No wonder my curls would be non existent! I will do EXACTLY what you did! Thank you so much!
Thank you Savannah…. So very helpful and you have covered everything… lovely work. I almost went to get a salon perm but now I remember they were crappy in the80’s and probably crappy now too…. I’m inspired!
I haven’t permed my hair in over 25 years. I can’t wait to do it after watching your video. It’s the same as dying I don’t wash ore really do anything with my hair for two days. Thanks for the tips.
Great video. I've been to cosmetology school twice and graduated, years apart, never did anything with my education but do my family, friends and my own hair. 😂. But I am very good at coloring and wrapping perms. The only thing is it's so hard to get help doing my own, so I do the best I can and I am fixing to be perming my hair next week my hair is long like yours so I found your video very helpful in the size rods I want to use. I was going to use jumbo, but decided to go with smaller rods now because I love your curl pattern. Great video, your hair turned out fabulous. ❤😊
I used to do a lot of perms. The most rods I used in someone's hair was 167. I didn't think I would ever get finished with that one. Your hair looks good
Fantastic job, the finished curls are immaculate! I think your sister would really suit this style as well - has she ever expressed an interest in perming her hair too?
Thank you for the very comprehensive tutorial. Especially where you show us the after steps necessary for lasting curls. Not even my salon did that for me. You are beautiful 😍🥰
It might be ok if you didn't talk so much cause you are saying the same thing over & over Also your language is horrible Not everyone wants or talk with bad language
Yah I permed my daughters hair at home roughly one year ago with the exact perm she used in one of her other videos. It was the One & Only Alkaline, & her hair isn’t curly anymore but it’s still wavy even without product in it! Oh & let me add that I went & got a perm years ago at a salon & my hair was the same. Took over a year or longer for the perm to completely fade out.
Slight update: I did the perm tonight. Late ending like yours in the video here. Mine are not tight but they look nice. I’ll update again in a few days 🎉
I do heatless curls with the flexi rods and that usually lasts me about a week before it looks wavy. Takes maybe half an hour to do. So, time pay our wise a perm might not actually be worth it. 🤔 I've been debating a perm for literally 15 years now, I love curly hair but mine is usually just a frizzy mess if I don't actively curl it (I won't use heat on my hair). My daughter has curly hair naturally and so does my youngest son. I just can't decide if the effort is worth it to perm mine... >
I've been doing hair for 28 yrs. The colors do matter, because the color determines the size of the curl you will have. Also the direction you roll them matters. Pink or peach is usually the largest and white is the smallest. You have done a great job. My hair has gotten very thin, but I want to do an S perm. Have you ever done an S perm with the bendy rods? 🤗
Ive got wavy hair but want more defintion so I’ve watched all your videos and I’m finally going to take the plunge and go for it this weekend! Wish me luck 🍀 xx
@@Savannahxo28 I finally did it this weekend and it was surprisingly easy!!! Watching your videos helped So much ! It did take ages to wrap and there is one bit by my ear which is wavy still! I love it though!
Also thank you so much for showing what your hair looks like just before you first wash it!! No one else shows that and I definitely would have freaked out! You are definitely queen of the perms ❤
I used this video as my main how-to and wow! Much better results than the 2 American Waves I got in salons. I have hair like yours but each hair is fine. I did my research and decided an acid perm would be better for me. I couldn't make sense of all the brands so I went with One n Only's acid perm. It wasn't an easy or quick process but I couldn't be happier with my results! Thank you so much! 😀
Thank you your perms always turn out beautifully like a salons. Im trying a home perm tomorow on virgin hair, trying to achieve tight spiral curls. Have you ever used the One n Only low ammonia texturizing perm? If you have can you comment if it would be able to achieve this result?🙏🏽
Mine looks like yours on the second day. I just did it like 12 hours ago. I’m freaking out. I’m going to try to make it to 72 hours without wetting it. The back looks straight from the mid shaft down 😩 but the front on my left side is so curly. The right side of my bangs are straight at the root. Y’all please send me beautiful perm energy. I’ll come back to update you all after my first shampoo 😭
nice perm videos! And yees, we all should comb before wash while detagle with Diy hair mask ( Shea, Coconut oil and aloe vera ) Have you consider roots perm? Happy birthday girl! Good luck here
I finally have long enough hair that I'm wanting to perm it, and it's all virgin hair now after years of pixie and bleaching (almost as long as yours here). I just bought everything today and I'm hoping I can do it here in a couple hours. Your hair is gorgeous btw. Also, are you an Oregonian? (Shirt). If so, me too 😂
Absolutely loved your video! I recently got a salon perm and did not really like the outcome of the curls and thought to myself that I know I could do a better job at home. Your video is so inspirational. Thankyou!

How amazing is she for rolling and doing all of this whole routine by herself! Awesome!

Thanks for this tutorial. Yes, so helpful!!! Your perm is so very nice. Wow!

I want to try a perm on myself! But my hair is long, and so thick, I’m afraid my arms will fall off before i have it all rolled! Yours came out great!
My arms feel like that every year! lol Gotta push through!😂

Si. Tu cabello ya necesitaba una nueva permanente, te queda muy natural y más bonita con los rizos, felicitaciones

Seriously loved your initial spiral/corkscrew result. I've never achieved that with any per,m I'm jealous.
Beautiful, GOOD JOB🥰
It’s that time again 😱 yayyy!! gorgeous 😍
Do you still brush out your hair before you wash it? You’re the reason I do mine and currently on my second time and loving it!
Have you ever tried leaving the rods in to rinse neutralizer? Maybe the curls will stay more intact?
You can also first rinse the neutralizer with the rods in and then take them out and rinse again.
How long the curls last? ❤

Nice perm. You look amazing.

@@Savannahxo28 i really like It. You should do It again.
I would love to see how you style your perm ❤
I filmed it this week! Going up soon!
My hair is wavy and slightly curly but it’s Damaged and dry like some strands are but i want good curls do you think perming will help

does styling your hair wet often affect the longevity of the perm?

How do you protect your hair at night??
Can you rinse neutralizer out with rods in?
great curls

Mine didn't work on me at home. I'm considering just grabbing more and trying again, i need something to show for it if I'm drying my hair out lol

Do you dye your hair

@@Savannahxo28 you always do such a good thing when you perm your hair looks fantastic
I only wash my hair twice a week too!
It’s literally the best! I’ve noticed such a difference in my hair since doing it!

People do kot supposed to perm hair every 8 weeks 😮
Your makeup isn't bad at all though
The smell is so bad tho !!!!
