Would love to see you review the Select Hulk. One of the few Select figures that can go nearly toe to toe with a Legends figure in articulation (he’s missing the backwards butterfly joint but it’s useless aside from very specific poses anyway) and you get a great finish and much better sculpt on top of it, plus he’s massive which is fun lol. Definitely one of my favorite purchases in the last few years, it’s the model domestic figures should go by in terms of value for money imo
Defo a great headsculpt, looks organic & no blank stare & no eye gap syndrome like most legends has. Definitely need some lighter shading, but at least the darker neck shading makes it kinda gradually transitioned.
@@chicomac8450 Based on late 60s to early 80s (which this figure based on), the lips is there, it's just that now it's more detailed. Check out Herb Trimpe, Ernie Chan Hulk etc, even modern Alex Ross immortal Hulk artwork. Funny how some y'all picking on it, while Anthony here doesn't have problem with it objectively & he ain't easy to impress either lol
Agree, I'm not a fan of the bored-out-of-his-mind, mouth wide open at the dentist look of the Marvel Select Hulk. If you isolate his head from the rest of his body, you'll see what I mean.
This Hulk green takes me back to my childhood, especially with these purple pants. Maybe I'd prefer the deep forest green a shade lighter but that's a small nitpick. As far as the hair goes I agree with you on the sideburns. I'd prefer the classic bowl cut.
Shading helps this mold BIG TIMES, even on your thumbnail this fig POP. Toybiz style Darker "Saturated" Green like this one is imo the best color for Hulk, not overly kiddie-neon green, and defo not puke green most MCU Hulk has, this one hit it in middle, Toybiz sure knew their stuff back then. Best Classic Legends Hulk to date, but tbh I'm way past classic/savage Hulk, we hit the peak with this one for sure, but I'd like a World War/Green Scar Hulk with HEAVY retooling, armor & stuff next please
Prefer the 80th myself but wanna get this one too coz why not. Definitely needs lighter color on the face though. You should get the Select for sure man. Spread the word.
@@marvelingabout8240 yes it's not that much a big difference I think only in the arms just a little bit an the shoulders. But they supposed to be making and X-Men apocalypse one next not for sure when it supposed to be out I might end up dumping Marvel Legends apocalypse when that one comes out.
This is the color Hulk should be. But that could also be because it was the color he was when I was a kid. That and gray. A large chunk of my Hulk comic reading was during the Mr Fixit era. Also, the purple pants are more iconic imo. My two favorite colors, and I’m fairly certain Hulk is what sparked that for me.
Hey Anthony! I own the 80 years two pack Hulk and IMO it’s still the best one. I like the bright “gamma green” look because I like how the bright green makes him look more bizarre! I’m going for a silver age/early Marvel Comics look for my collection. This 20 years Hulk is not bad but not for me. Either way, if you own any of the new Hasbro Hulks that’ve been released you should be a happy collector.
I honestly prefer the Marvel Select Hulk over this one. The Select one has more of an organic look to it IMO. The shoulders don’t stick out as much, the traps aren’t as high up, and the neck is more prevalent. I also like the more subtle shading on the figure and the brighter green, which I think matches better with the brighter color scheme that Cap has. I also just prefer the brighter green for Hulk. It looks closer to the Hulk images that’s on the display base. It’s also bigger, which when it comes or Hulk bigger is better for me. I would be interested in seeing a review of the select Hulk.
$35 would be perfect. $40 is really pushing it, especially with that paint job for the face. $45 is unacceptable. I can only imagine paying that much for a Legends if it's an already good release like Modular Iron Man, but with immaculate shading and nice accessories like a painted Proton Cannon. If Hasbro wants to charge higher than $35, I need to see value on par with NECA's Frankenstein's Monster. Most Legends figures aren't even worth $25.
You fellas have it easy. Here in South Africa ANY legends figure costs a minimum of $50 dollars. A recognised character like Cap or Spidey costs in the range of $60 and $70 and deluxe figures like this Hulk are in the $80 range. We'd love to be in your situation pal.
These Toybiz tribute figs is how I wish all Legends were, a fair bit of accessories, great headsculpts, new parts as well, more paint overall, seems like just alot more effort than into everything than usual
Toy biz did come with great accessories sometimes, but most of the time they only came with a base and the baf piece. For the head sculpts, they did a great job on male characters, on females characters however…yeah not really. For the last two things you are 100% right however
Mandroids were originally yellow/gold in the comics. That's a new 2-pack; Yellow/Gold Mandroid w/new arms and a Glenn Talbot using the Gamerverse Cap body. Bet on it
This guy certainly looks cool but he's like 40ish bucks out there, 55 bucks on my country, I got the marvel select hulk for 40 bucks and even tho I don't have the ml one in hand the marvel select one is probably better, at least for me I have him with my 20th anniversary captain america and modular armor iron man
The head of the android named Mandroid is yellow because originally, in the comics, it was yellow. Search to know more about the Mandroids, it's really cool
Just got mine yesterday and I kinda love it. I think the heads are fine paint wise because the neck is dark as well and it gradiates upwards from the lighter chest upwards. His hair being floppy over his forehead would create a bit of shadow on his face anyway. So for me, I think it works.
Yes, that's what I'm saying. Darker neck transitioned to the darker head, but then again you could always argue that's Hasbro's way to cheapen out the paint to exclude lighter shade on the heads as well lol
I kinda like the lighter green that they used in the shading. Not too crazy about the hair style either, kinda looks like a hippie Hulk. As for the price, it should have been around the $35 to $39 range. I'll get him still as I don't have a Hulk in my collection and I can live with the hippie look.
yeah this hulk is the perfect hulk for me. I love the color style and head sculpt on this. The more I look at this one the more and more I start to dislike the 80 years Hulk. I do love the ripped shirt accessory it came with though, I gave it to this one. Headsculpt is so much better in hand and prob the best we've gotten in this scale. I love the select hulk but the head on that one throws me off.
Excellent review! I absolutely LOVE this Hulk figure and agree that it is the star of this wave. I had this opinion before watching your review on Cap, but after watching it I just can't unsee the proportions and how they could've easily been so much better, which solidifies Hulk as #1 for me even further. I really love the 2 head sculpts that are included, the paint apps and the shade of green chosen in general over the much brighter green on the 80th Hulk. The accessories are the cherry on top. Though I could do without the Mandroid head, the smashed effect piece is beautiful! I haven't been this pleased with a Marvel Legends purchase in a long time. The increased price rate does suck, but if Hasbro is willing to put in the extra effort like they did with this figure, then I'll gladly pay it. On the other hand, I didn't pick up the Iron Man due to it looking cheap in comparison to Hulk & Cap and the upcoming Toad figure is an EASY pass IMO.
I do like the green with brighter shading. My biggest problem with the head is the shape of the mouth. Try making that face, it hurts 😅 Yes, please review the Marvel Select Immortal Hulk! I’m very tempted to collect more Select figures. Select Venom will be my first.
This is one of the times I disagree with you. I don't really dig the shading and absolutely hate the heads. I waited until I had it in hand and between this or the cap, I'll take the cap all day. Great review as always regardless.
I got this for $35 at Frank and sons and there was another seller selling it for $60 which i almost bought it for that but i waited and found another guy selling it for $35 and i said hell yeah
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE review the Select Hulk! I still wish you would review all the DST Marvel figures since there’s only a few releases a year and now Hasbro has increased their prices to match those of Diamond.
I agree about the lack of shading on the face, but the white that goes down significantly into the gums is what bothers me more than anything. I'd also like to see slightly wider feet, but I'm overall pretty happy with mine. The face sculpt is just unlike any other and that really makes it stand out to me.
Great score AC. The fact of the different color of green for the portraits then the rest of the buck is rather troubling to see. Without a clapping butterfly joint this Hulk provides limited attractions for me to spend my money on upgrading Hasbro's 80th. I would love to see a review on the Select Hulk, either the Immortal or Planet Hulk.
Even though I don't have the 80 years Hulk, I still might get this 20th anniversary Hulk along with 20th anniversary Captain America so I can complete my Avengers display and I need to get Thunderstrike, West Coast Avengers White Vision, Scarlet Witch, vintage collection Falcon and Jocasta. Great honest review Anthony.
i like this one. Im sure the select is way better but its too big in my opinion. i like my figures to be scaled (as much as they try) like comics from mid 70s to like 94 ish...things kinda go all over the place past that. The hair does not bother me too much but yeah maybe shorter with ears would have been better.
Had to pause the video because yes, I want to see you review the Select one too. The Marvel Select one is the Hulk I have in my display, I love that figure, my only problem is that it's a big too big when posed with, let's say, Hasbro's Thing and that's the only reason I'm thinking about buying this version of Hulk too. Question of the day: I like the neon green Hulk with purple pants, the greener the better. Definitely want to see my Hulk in a radioactive color, lol.
Hey Anthony, don't know if you've answered this question before but what do you think about the recent price increases for marvel legends, specifically the 2 packs? Do you think Venom and Knull are worth it?
I love this fig. I put these heads on the maestro body, and the paint work matches up a little better. Plus the brown pants give a more MCU realistic vibe compared to the comic purple ones.
I'm still not in love with this Hulk body. The odd gigantic shoulders which I think should be recessed a bit more into the body, the relatively tiny feet, and the skinny (front to back) torso is just weird. However, what I do like is that the head sculpt on this one seems blockier, and that helps make this very boxy body look better to me. Compared to the 80th anniversary Hulk, that head tapers a bit when you get to the chin and it just exacerbates all the proportion issues I have with the body. This one flows better by hiding the neck a bit more and having a larger chin.
I've missed out on all previous green hulks (have red hulk only) and finally ordered this guy from GameStop while on sale. And I like the darker colors on hulk so I'm glad this was released.
The best Hulks at this size are the OG Toybiz Hulk(s), and the Hulk that came in a fan-voted 2-pack back in the "dark years". As far as this buck is concerned, I still think the original version w/white shirt & Wolverine 2-pack did it best. Maestro was good, too.
Thank you for the review! I was wondering- between this Hulk and the 80th anniversary (from the two pack with Wolverine) - which one would you go with?
@AnthonysCustoms what programs should I be using to digitally sculpt ? I've been a fan of marvel legends for awhile and, I've gotten to the point where these figures aren't quite cutting it. I'm already a sculptor and I have some fundamentals down already.
Agree that the paint on the body is well done. How I wish the iron man and capt america 20th anniversary figs got the same paint treatment as this one!
The reason the Android head is yellow and not silver is because the version that Hulk is based off of when we first saw him in that kind of style he was fighting like this yellow Android I think it was with Spider-Man I'm not 100% sure so take everything I say with a grain of salt p.s. when I wanted to get the figure from BBTS it was 50 dollars and I have it now but we'll yeah it was a lot
Let’s see a review on the Marvel Select figure. I think this Hulk is a little too dark and I’m not a fan of the head sculpt. Besides that it’s a pretty good figure.
Thank you, Anthony. I’ve yet to have mine in hand, but I do like the color scheme, including the darker face; the close-ups can look a bit off, but when I take the whole figure in, I think the contrast works. And I actually like the hair, but I’m a throwback guy. I’m a fan of the bowl cut too, but for certain eras and incarnations of the Hulk. Please review the MS Immortal Hulk. While it’s an outstanding figure, including the sculpt of the physique, I’ve two criticisms of it: 1) the hands fall out WAY too easily. For me, that’s just unforgivable. 2) When you scale it with other MS figures, the physique overall is just too “slender” for me. To me, the “strongest one there is” should have muscular thickness that at least matches up with the likes of Thing and Juggernaut, and his just doesn’t. One of the reasons I like this ML buck for the hulk is how thick he is. Update: Finally got mint and love it. The head color can look off with a really bright light, but I think it actually looks better this way in a softer, warmer light. I do like the shading of the green a lot, especially for a toy, but for me the 80th really captures the classic comic book gamma green. Still think I prefer this one over the 80th; would be closer if the 80th was given at least a wash on the pants.
Hasbro has gone insane with their prices. Their children’s toys, not collectibles. They’re attempting to do something that I hope destroys their company. I am refusing to buy anything and switching exclusively to Marvel Select. I urge everyone else to do the same until they wake up. We aren’t you reviewers getting boxes of toys for free, so please do the right thing and start addressing this obvious problem
This Hulk is not worth a purchase, even at 30 bucks. The new heads sit waaay too low on the ball joint, limiting an already limited point of articulation. Also, the head sculpts are decent, but weird at the same time. Had they changed the butterfly joints to include forward movement, and added a double ball peg for the neck articulation, it would have been a must-have. If you have any of the previous releases of this mold, stick with that. Also, the best hulk you can buy currently, is Marvel Select Rampaging Hulk.
I'll go ahead and echo many others and ask you to do a review of the Marvel Select Hulk as well. in fact, if you were able to do a comparison between this one and the 80 Years Hulk from the two pack, I'd appreciate it.
2x the price of a regular ML figure? Nahhh, prefer the 80th version, this one was a lazy release. Just darker green paint, ugly head with funky hair for 2x the price. I prefer the cap, sooo much better, and sooo many accessories and wash. And proportions is amazing! Got that v tape, finally.
I had the 2-Pack version but I dropped it like a bad habit once I saw the most recent Marvel Select Hulk. The lack of paint on the face ruins this 20th Anniversary Hulk for me. I'm just going to stick with the Marvel Select unless someone makes one that can do that thunderclap pose.
thanks Anthony, this is a really cool hulk. and I love to hear your point of view and insights, so please don't stop your 'so called' "rambling". my wife got a really good deal on Best Buy for two of them, otherwise i wouldn't be getting it. she knew i really wanted to get it, but wasn't happy with the pricing. i don't know how she did it, but she wound up getting a couple of discounts on it, and free shipping, wow Banana's how the hell does that work? don't get me wrong, i am grateful, but curious. ha. i know some people have a problem with the back of this figure not being highlighted, i get it, but this time, it makes me think of a big green monster ape, mixed with a little "Lou ferrigno" sprinkled in. and i really like it! HA i don't have this hulk yet, but your video makes me look forward to it even more. " thanks Anthony you're the best!"
Well done. Would like to see select review. That is a really good Hulk too. Curious which you feel is better. I like the head sculpt better on thr select version.
This is a really nice figure, no doubt but I prefer the Marvel Select Immortal Hulk. This Hulk’s head looks a little small and he has almost no neck. Hell looks almost like swamp thing from the neck up lol. Great review 👍🏽
I don't like the darker color scheme. I don't like the wash color nor placement. Why is the wash not on the sides of his stomach? I don't like the frays on the jeans that light in color. I don't like the hair. I don't like the fish lips.
The paint job minus the head looks really nice but there isn't any value to me with this figure. I paid RRP on the 80th hulk set a few years back and it was only £3 more than this which kinda blows my mind if this was about 30 I'd have gone for it but I'm happy with the 80 year and select ones for now
I hate how hulk's arms look. They seem more like they were placed there rather than actually being part of the body if you know what I mean. Anyways, I'm assuming iron man is next?
I got the select one. But I do like the look of this. Very 70ish hairstyle. Sort of that iron man one. That Charles Bronson looking one. But this looks like Bronson Hulk.
I would really love to hear your thoughts on Marvel Select Hulk
The messed up part is The Marvel Select version being cheaper than this 🙁

I've missed out on all previous green hulks (have red hulk only) and finally ordered this guy from GameStop while on sale. And I like the darker colors on hulk so I'm glad this was released.
I really like this shade of green too, especially with the purple pants. Great review Anthony!👍🤟👏
Select Hulk is the GOAT hulk fig imo
the bright green is visually interesting but it looks weird missing from many spots, face included
I like that green for the Hulk, I’m glad we’re finally getting some Hulks and they’re actually good! I like the brown pants better though, both good 🤙
The best Hulks at this size are the OG Toybiz Hulk(s), and the Hulk that came in a fan-voted 2-pack back in the "dark years". As far as this buck is concerned, I still think the original version w/white shirt & Wolverine 2-pack did it best. Maestro was good, too.
Thank you for the review! I was wondering- between this Hulk and the 80th anniversary (from the two pack with Wolverine) - which one would you go with?
This one probably
@@AnthonysCustoms Thank you for the reply, sir. Very much appreciated!
I don’t know why the headsculpts got so much hats at first. I think the headsculpts look fantastic
Yes would love to see you review marvel select hulk
Yes, I’d like you to review the marvel select hulk!
You should definitely review the Marvel Select Hulk and do a comparison on this Hulk
I can't justify paying 45€ to get this Hulk since I already have 3 of these mold but I agree this is the best one.
Thanks for the review Anthony.
Let’s see a review on the Marvel Select figure. I think this Hulk is a little too dark and I’m not a fan of the head sculpt. Besides that it’s a pretty good figure.
Awwwe man, I was waitin to see you put Hulk into a pose, usin that effect peice. Sik
I can't get over that headsculpt. It looks like he's melting
Melting? What?
Thank you, Anthony. I’ve yet to have mine in hand, but I do like the color scheme, including the darker face; the close-ups can look a bit off, but when I take the whole figure in, I think the contrast works. And I actually like the hair, but I’m a throwback guy. I’m a fan of the bowl cut too, but for certain eras and incarnations of the Hulk.
Please review the MS Immortal Hulk. While it’s an outstanding figure, including the sculpt of the physique, I’ve two criticisms of it:
1) the hands fall out WAY too easily.
80th Hulk...too small a head! This version is a better. Good size a head. ML The Thing...too small a head! I'm not understand.
Purple pants all the way. As for the green, I like the shading all the way around except for the head. I think the head is just a touch too dark.
Fantastic Review!!! This Hulk is nice! I, too, think this Hulk is perhaps the best one to date!
This figure would pair well with S.H. Figuarts LSSJ Broly. For an articulated figure of this size, back in the 90's you'd probably be paying $60.
Im glad u put the hulk next to the back drop. 😂😂😂 shows how pointless that backdrop is when its so small compared to the figure lmao
The *MARVEL SELECT* Immortal Hulk is Way Better....and priced better as well. 👍👍👍
Also, the best hulk you can buy currently, is Marvel Select Rampaging Hulk.
can you make a video on how you opened the packaging without destroying it?
I'll go ahead and echo many others and ask you to do a review of the Marvel Select Hulk as well. in fact, if you were able to do a comparison between this one and the 80 Years Hulk from the two pack, I'd appreciate it.
2x the price of a regular ML figure? Nahhh, prefer the 80th version, this one was a lazy release. Just darker green paint, ugly head with funky hair for 2x the price. I prefer the cap, sooo much better, and sooo many accessories and wash. And proportions is amazing! Got that v tape, finally.
Cap doesn't have a wash or good proportions though.
HA
i don't have this hulk yet, but your video makes me look forward to it even more.
" thanks Anthony you're the best!"
I'd like to see a review of Select Hulk
Well done. Would like to see select review. That is a really good Hulk too. Curious which you feel is better. I like the head sculpt better on thr select version.
Honestly I am fine with either color scheme for hulk. Both of them looks great for different reasons.
This is a really nice figure, no doubt but I prefer the Marvel Select Immortal Hulk. This Hulk’s head looks a little small and he has almost no neck. Hell looks almost like swamp thing from the neck up lol. Great review 👍🏽
Great review!!! I just got mine today!!!
Yes, review the marvel select hulk pls
I don't like the darker color scheme. I don't like the wash color nor placement. Why is the wash not on the sides of his stomach? I don't like the frays on the jeans that light in color. I don't like the hair. I don't like the fish lips.
Great Hulk. I also think the hair choice looks weird.
The paint job minus the head looks really nice but there isn't any value to me with this figure. I paid RRP on the 80th hulk set a few years back and it was only £3 more than this which kinda blows my mind if this was about 30 I'd have gone for it but I'm happy with the 80 year and select ones for now
the color on the contest of champions hulk is perfect for me
I hate how hulk's arms look. They seem more like they were placed there rather than actually being part of the body if you know what I mean. Anyways, I'm assuming iron man is next?
Purple and green for me . Is it just me or is the base for this figure the same as the base for the retro carded ice man?
Good God no, no it isn't. Please get your eyes checked immeditely.
That head gives me very strong swamp thing vibes for some reason
I do like this, but the select one is still the best
Honestly looks like this hulk has a farmers tan going on. 😆
For whoever doesn't know what that means it's when the torso and biceps are lighter toned than the face/neck and forearms. (What a tshirt would cover)
This is a great action figure
Best Hulk 4 me, super fantastic
Better body paint but i agree with the heads especially the side brns i dont like it. Great review as always.
I got the select one. But I do like the look of this. Very 70ish hairstyle. Sort of that iron man one. That Charles Bronson looking one. But this looks like Bronson Hulk.
Both heads were sculpted by Paul Harding.
