Blizzard could change it so that trial accounts cant use Cromie or go outside of starting zones that get you to level 20...but they wont do mostly anything, because they just dont care...
if you don't care, you wont see Any bots. But ofcourse you care about the server Economy because this is your job. i am a casual player and playing wow 3-4 hours daily. i dont see any bots and i dont hear anything about them in the chat
I quit because of the botting situation. I've played over a decade and knew it was a problem, but I had no clue it was this bad. There's no telling what these people are doing with the money they're getting. They could be reinvesting all their illegitimate gains into actual criminal enterprises where people are getting hurt or worse. The thought I could be aiding in that by buying a botter's fish off the auction house actually gave me a crisis of conscience and I couldn't play the game anymore. Who knows what kind of lifestyles or crimes gold buyers, or even regular players who buy botted items off the auction house, are funding. Deleted everything. I can't live in willful ignorance.
the worst part is many of these bot buyers cannot be punished as those people are most likely to be whales, so hunting down these bots in hardcore doesnt even do much
There is a great Asmongold video from a few years ago, where boomkins are doing this same thing in an older expansion. Blizzard actually phased him out of the bot layer live on stream so that he couldn’t show how bad it was. I’m convinced Blizzard is in on it, getting some kind of kickback from the gold selling companies. Or not banning Chinese players is some condition for them to be able to operate in China.
@PCEngineGaijin There's nothing shady going on it's just the fact that it takes a WOW Subscription whether your a bot or not. I don't see what the big deal is & I don't think it's simple to distinguish between a Bot & non Bot. Id argue the presence of Bots in WOW makes the WOW World a realer experience. In America we have Bots that Vote Democrat every chance they get.
It's not even that, previous devs that have left blizzard said that the companies will just not allow recourses to go on gold farmers and bots, They claim it's a pointless battle that costs too much money and rather have resources else where. In shorter basic terms, Banning bots doesn't make the KPI's look good, Managers want good KPI's for their bonuses.
Already canceled my sub, classic ann.. was just full of bots. multiple layers just full of bots. You can see it at nighttime EU 3-4 layers, but the server feels dead outside the hordes of hunters botting.
Blizzard knows that people who spend money on 3rd party gold are the same whales that buy $90 mounts. Those paypiggies are the most valuable customers to Blizzard. Why would blizzard make the game experience for paypiggies worse?
This video almost inspires me I could make my own level 20’s, to see how much of the game can you explore for free Can you make gold? Can you completely level up professions? Can you gear up a lot of speed and 1-shot your way through content, farming for rare gear that’ll fetch on the market place? Or will there be scaling difficulties, will certain raids and dungeons be impossible for a level 20? Im actually curious.
There needs to be some sort of captcha system system in the game that’s active when while engaged in game. Perhaps make it that while gathering or out in te worlds and if you fail it you can’t sell items. Or simply limit what trial accounts can do. If lvl 20 bots are gaining xp for retailing paying players using bots then it totally fail on blizzards part because of how they can easily fix that. Simply make it that trial account kills don’t count towards party xp Trial accounts are unable to gather mats/craft/herb/mine Trial accounts are capped for gold Trial accounts can’t join parties It’s a trial, just meant to give a taste of the game.
While blizzard isn't doing enough to combat botting or goldbuying, I feel like this is a player-created problem... If people didn't buy gold, there'd be little to no incentive for them to bot, atleast not on this massive scale... Players always find a way to ruin a good thing..
Pretty much, yep! The bot locations in retail are absolutely infested at the moment, you can go to many of the "popular bot locations" and find 20-60 bots farming... it's absolutely shameless and since theyre using the same locations all the time, Blizzard could easily ban them but they choose not to.
I don't see the issue with Bots & I think they make the WOW World more like the Real World. The best way to look at them is active world NPCs. I've been playing since 2005 & botting has never crossed my mind although I've always known they existed. I can easily argue that Bots keep the World going & help the WOW Economy by making things more affordable on the auction house. The people running these Bot Farms are competing with each other & regular players get lower prices & there's still room for you to Farm & make Gold yourself. As a matter of fact you can buy & Sell the stuff they list & make profit. I just can't think of any good reason to be obsessed with these Bots.
What pissis me off is that a single GM could walk around and is so obvius what is a bot he could ban. the bonkin exemple is just stupid, how they dont ban that bunch, really just hire 1 GM for each server and problem will be solved
Was 2 weeks late for fresh eu pvp, when i was at barrens / 1k needels 70% of people i saw was bots out in the open world. (I know it was bots i know how it works) so im back to turtle agen that can runn they're servers so good with no bots.
It's not just wow that's being overrun by Bots any game that has farming materials pretty much anymore to farm for money or materials is being overrun with Bots even games like Eve
Getting mad at people who will spend money on a market that ONLY exists because the makers of the game are TOO LAZY to put a halt to it is rich. Blizzard won't notice you. Simp.
@Blakkrazor69 I mean blizzard can also make it so you can pay to win and buy gold straight from them and undercut farmers. And yeah I'm a Simp my choice of life to be a single male loser.
I don't really agree, it's like being mad at the addict rather than the drug cartel. Both have negative impacts on regular people, sure, but one is clearly worse than the other.
This is why it’s a problem currently more than ever, we reached the tipping point where enough are buying gold that it curbs the market where non buyers can never get ahead which only incentivizes buying gold even more. The less buyers there are the easier it is to obtain gold and so on.
Didn't Asmon do a video a long time ago about these same type of Druids farming with starfall in Shadowlands or w.e? I can't imagine 20 starfalls in 1 area is hard to see. Then its even more sus when it's the free trial lmao.
botting companies actually have a contract with blizzard and they pay some kind of tax every month. thats why blizz doesnt do anything about them, money talks.
That's a complete conspiracy theory lol. previous devs that have left blizzard said that the companies will just not allow recourses to go on gold farmers and bots, They claim it's a pointless battle that costs too much money and rather have resources else where. Blizzard should just restrict one person having only one account through real id verification system. That is literally the only actually effective way to remove bots and prevent other FAQ-breakers to not just make another account when they get banned. Ppl who are bot advocates or think they have had privacy in internet after they first made an account to anywhere will obv be against this idea.
@@mattlatham5670 because there are lots of individuals quiting the game due to botting. Even when money is the only priority they need to figure out when too much is too much to keep their game alive. If the game dies it wont be ”botworthy” either and then they lose both.

The botting is one of the main reasons I started a character on Turtle Wow for the first time, and I don't regret it.
I miss that server a lot. Been a while since I've played there but I enjoyed it alot!
it honestly makes me wanna go back to turtle
@SolheimGaming it's still up and kicking, plenty of people for me to team with as a lowbie
It is kind off sad that private servers can remove these and hackers but a multi million dollar company cant...
