Unless they address the botting issues I can't really get excited about any version of WoW. This Anniversary realm bot situation is not making me hopeful.
Perma ban the gold buyers stop RMT at the source and the bots go away but blizzard would rather let it get so bad that people start asking them for wow tokens its pretty simple wow has been a dead game since 2008 and its just another p2w trashshop game now like all the rest of the MMOs. As of writing this 1k gold is €70 on Thunderstrike EU thats 20-40h grinding in game for a normal player to earn that much at this stage in classic anniversary or its a couple of hours of irl work. Obviously people will just buy the gold for there epic mount at 60 and they know that the absolute worst thing that can happen to them is 7 day ban and they loose the €70 and thats still only maybe a 10% chance of happening at most.
Whatever may happen in Classic+, it's crucial that player damage grows linearly, not exponentially. For me, a big part of Classic's charm is that the numbers are straightforward and easy for everyone to grasp!
this is a huge concept that i never see anyone talk about but in my opinion is really really important. there must be ways to balance it like. each raid tier dps increases by like x amount of dps. not % increases that cumulate. but just really small increases, or flavour increases via new tier sets doing other stuff, but the dmg must not increase exponentially.
Imo they SHOULDNT add new raids number wise. Make them harder and harder, and keep the item lvl the same, maybe give requirements as ' get an armor with frost resistance' or something like that.make the content 'fater' but not 'taller'
Classic+ will never succeed without class changes. Ret and prot pals, spriests, boomies, bear tanks, shaman tanks MUST be made viable. These classes add flavor to the game, 15-20 warriors per raid does not. People hate on sod but the class diversity is amazing.
This, I want to play feral tank in vanilla soo hard, but just having maul and a bad swipe is not enough. Mangle and Lacerate would make me jump on it instantly
@@vildjuret6591feral tank is good in vanilla, a lot of guilds are looking for one (though never more than one) and you get to swap to DPS cat on a lot of bosses too so it isn't really just maul + swipe all the time.
The problem with competitive dps is you're not taking in to account what the class brings to the raid. Example ..... feral has competitive dps to warrior so why bring warriors when you have battle res ect you wouldnt bring warriors then. Remember the player base mentallity is the problem and always has been. We were server 3rd naxx clear in original classic. We literally had 1/2 the healers in blues, 1/2 the amount of warriors people would normally bring and around 25% actual sweats. We just did fine killing Saph and KT with 98% of the raid without world buffs. That felt like an accomplishment. People complain about how easy the game is yet they constantly find every way possible to alienate players and trivialize content.
The SoD class changes were great, maybe a little more class balance. Make them more like their WOTLK counterparts. Raids 10-20mins, add inscription or at least vellums for enchanting, god classic and tbc enchanting is such a chore. A fast flight path upgrade, something that would cost maybe 1000g to make flight paths faster/direct flight. New raids, dungeons. No more level scaling just straight to 60 and the SoD raids be lvl 60 versions, lvl 60 versions of dungeons. Attunement keys for alts, or reputations keys for alts. Outdoor pvp zones, more Bgs. I’d also like to see something like a guidance system for more geared veteran players rewarded for doing earlier tier content to help others catch up. Something like an XP bar that fills up from boss kills that rewards gold/material bags. And improve crafting. Why so many white items that are useless and just skill fodder. Maybe Jewlcrafting?
I think they could make herb/skinning/mining with even higher than 315 skills. Different ones at 315/325/335 etc. They could add rare raid drops for other slots with those skills and needing multiple loot pieces, make it really hard for bots to be able to get into a situation where they're actually able to farm these things. Do the same for fishing too.
i mainly just want finished / finalized classes(with all theirs specs) since vanilla dont have that at all aswell as just some attempt on balancing for PVP dont have to be perfectly balanced and fine with some classes is strong/weak against some specific classes BUT not have it like where there is 1 class that is insanely good at everything in PVP and just kill everyone : looking at SOD´s Shaman since phase2(to now even) on that
Most people want at least TBC class balance/abilites. Most ERA purists wants minimal changes and that's a game everyone will get tired of after 3 months. which is basically this list
All great ideas that can be elaborated on a bit more. Paladins and shamans using cloth and warriors and hunters using leather doesn't feel right, no reason that can't change. Also tier sets should have updated set bonuses, why can't hybrid classes have bonuses on tier that reflect the other roles they can play...
Reading most of the comments, it's called Classic for a reason. Classic plus literally means classic but more of it. I don't want them to change the game at all, Classic is fine as it is right now, I just want MORE OF IT... A LOT MORE. I want to use my t3 gear in a relevant raid after naxx. I want them to just finish what they had planned for WoW when it was still in Alpha, Before "Expansions" was even a thing. (Madseason did good series on this showing the old unfinished places). and best would be if they added these "more things" alongside the already existing progressive patches and phases. make it a 3 year progressive server instead of 14months, make it 28months with 12phases or something like that?! Blizzard needs to stop trying to please 2 different crowds and focus on one. If they kept true to Oldschool rules like OSRS they would see their true oldschool gamers come back and support them for it (instead of all fleeing for pservers). You will end up not pleasing both, new and oldschoolers, if you keep mixing QoL and New Changes with your 20 year old game.
I would say as far as professions instead of higher tier leather or ore we just add new secondary materials for example devilsaur still use me rugged but it also uses devilsaur leather, don’t replace the primary material only add new secondary materials, also why make improved versions of items when you can just make new alternative items with different stats. Although I believe they already did that with arcanite reaper and some other items as well.
I would also say that the higher tier crafted items should maybe be bop since I really don’t wanna see full tier 3equivalent crated items for sale on the AH when there’s all this botting and gold buying, no pay to win.
As far as im concerned SoD is Classic+, it has the most things that i would want out of a real Classic+, I never played Turtle WoW so I cant comment on that but it seems people like it, I might try that one out if the Unreal 5 WoW ever comes out but I think Blizzard will kill it . I dont think we will ever see the real version of Classic+, old Blizzard is dead, ride the wave boys until its completely done.
Agree with most(lvl 60), but don't like them changing old locations in the game (revamping) into dungeons like they did with SoD. Rather do unfinished locations like Emerald dream, old Ironforge, like planned in beta, Karazhan, Gilneas city, Grim batol (in style of classic/war3, NOT CATA dungeon), Uldum, Hyjal, there's so many locations that were not finished, legendary questlines like Ashbringer in style of scarab lord questline, all while being relevant for lvl 60 players, heck ad some sort of legendary questline for each class. This must be done early, not at the end of the game after naxx, and I don't want to play another guinea pig "beta test" again like sod or som (They bring out half assed content, full of bugs, no testing and we have to play 2-3months of the crap before they completely change and hotfix it and just move on to the next phase with new bugs over n over) They must take their time. Plan a full release, with progression, from get go, patches like the release of bwl, mc, openening aq gates etc are cool, but I don't trust the current devs, they have used me as a guinea pig too much. What if they had it like p1 Ony MC 40man + new dungeon 10man, p2 PVP Diremaul (+ another new dungeon 10/20man), p3 BWL & New Raid 20man, p4 ZG 20man catchup & Green Dragons & New zone with a New 40man raid, p5 AQ and opening of gates, p6 scourge invasion + naxx + new dungeons , p7 new raid 40man, just trying to make an idea/example. instead of them doing the normal p1-6 and only then adding new content No Runes, No multiple difficulties, no instanced world boss content, just more items, raids, dungeons, quest + quet hubs, content in the style of lvl 60 Classic. More bosses like Viscidus or Sapphiron where preparation is the biggest check in difficulty. The really hard part is keeping the Ferals/Boomkins, Enhance, Prot/Ret Paladins etc happy with lvl 60 Talents bt slight changes that comes in tbc lvl 70 that made them viable. not even sure how I feel about class changes, I actually don't mind the old vanilla warrior meta.
SoD is classic+ by definition. It's vanilla with stuff added/changed and it's better for those things in every metric. It's not perfect but it's better than plain vanilla. I'd like to do away with the old pvp system and add RBGs & Arenas with an mmr system. Because climbing mmr is simply what pvpers like to do. I'd also like each healing spec to have a Magic Dispel otherwise Priest is your only real option for high rated pvp.
I'd be in favor of lowering the level cap so that more of the world is at the same level as us while we're at level cap. This would increase zone relevancy and make the world more of a "threat" to max level players. To make up for the lower level they could give us extra skill points at either milestone levels or through quests, dungeon rewards for completing dungeons once etc. For balancing the classes using the TBC skill trees is a good starting point.
I agree with most that you say. However, when it comes to class balance and gear stat allocation, they just need to implement TBC class balance and gear stat allocation. Also, raiding will have to be addressed. Contrary to the Classic Andy opinion, 40 man raiding doesn’t have the appeal it used to have. Any Classic+ will have to adjust all old and new content to either 10, 15, 20, or 25 man raiding. Or a combination of that all.
Yeah, we sadly need a rating system for stats as the current % increase is suffering from low number problems where an item going from 1% to 2% is 100% increase, instead of rating going from 10 to 15 for example.
When they come out with BIS items they will use previous items but when the gear is mid-tier not so much. It was also mainly just to keep the price stable on the previous item. Worked well honestly, ArmaXbow/Bandos/Torture/Rings all keep value.
With the way the community treated SoD and the devs, you will never get classic+. The investors have chosen anniversary/fresh additions forever because it prints money and costs nothing
If Classic+ happens we need to talk about alt catch up mechanics. Cause that is *antithetical* to the spirit of classic. Why do old content if you can skip up to the latest latest patch?
The people want classic plus to be like a new TBC or new time line forked. From classic to have two lines, one is Tbc and the other is classic plus, that will be like a classic forever but adding new things? i will end up like a new expansion, no one wants to play for years at 60, becouse what makes classic classic is the leveling process, people dont know what they want. Let blizzard be creative and do what they want to do. The classic team is small and dont have the money and the devs needed to do larger things than adding things they already have and copy pasting things
What a small vision. Classic+ SHOULD be created in Wotlk client. All the dungeons and raids should be remixed loot. Loot should contain spells. This is how we fix classes and add a new feeling. No new baseline spells; only a shield with "Avengers Shield rank 3" on it. Classic WoW talents ONLY and add TBC and WOTLK talent stuff through items. Make progressive raids where each one opens up directly after the previous one is complete. Make pervious tier raids easer as newer raids are unlocked so they turn into a fun raid that acts like a catchup raid. Make a "hard mode" for last boss only that act's as the "completion" of the raid and make a server wide statue outside the instance with the guild name as a reward. When all the content is done; restart it. People who want to stay and finish can; people who want to start over can. Remix loot. If you keep asking for wow 1.1111111111 and not thinking bigger; then you are apart of the problem. We got "no changes"... Now it's time to add up everything WE the gamers have learned over 20 years and decide what we want. Giving a paladin taunt and making ret do more dmg is so low brain thinking; it's not even worth coming back for.
