Thanks great video. I noticed when you cut out the sink one of the support boards had pocket hole screws. Any particular reason you used them as well as screwing from the top down? Thanks
Thanks! Those particular supports are just there to ensure the little bits of top left over from the hole have at least two points of contact. TBH I think I used pocket holes to reduce the amount of screws visible from the top - it looked quite nice with just the three rows perfectly aligned - there is no reason other than aesthetics 👍😊
Very nice straightforward video. Please tell me how do you stop the wood from twisting and cupping as everytime i cut say a 6x1" it immediately starts twisting and cupping. Any help be awesome thanks.
Sounds like there are lots of internal stresses or the wood is still wet. I always give the wood a few days to acclimate before I use it, and always cut/mill the timber just before I use it so the joints in the workpiece hold it in place. If I mill the day before I often wake up to twists. It's just what you get with construction pine 👌
I was looking in your tool list and couldn't find those red corner things you used to make a corner joint. What are those called? Great job by the way.
@mikeparsonscc At 2:02 are you cutting a 1x6 and what is the 38, inches, mm? I'm trying to follow this to the 'T" but I'm a stumped on what size you did the bottom or if it even matters as long as I leave a 1" space to lay the horizontal boards along the bottom. Thanks!
Hi! I don't know if it's because I'm in Canada, but I can't find anything called "Decking Oil". Can you let me know what a similar product might be? Can this be used directly on pressure treated wood?
I don't know to be honest as I don't know the specifics of the oil blend. I imagine any oil based stain will do a similar job. Yes, it goes straight on to treated wood 👍
Good to hear it! It was about £100 total in materials, wood included. I cannot remember the exact amounts and dimensions sorry. It is made out of 2x4 and 1x6s 👍
If that's what the description says that will be what I used. It seems my memory isn't as good as I thought it was 🤦♂️ I generally don't use a cut list I just get what I need as I go 👍
Apologies but I really cannot remember, it was quite a long time ago. When you plan it out on paper before hand it should give you a good idea of the total amount needed 👍
@@mikeparsonscc awesome mate. Ill try to make soon. Then ill show it to you. I dont have those machineries but ill try :) cheers for the video. New sub here.
Hi. Amazing job! I'm gonna try to build this as my first wood project. I'm a beginner so I have a lot of doubts hehe. Let's start just for one; What size screws have you used? Thanks
It's a Bosch GTS 10 J, sitting on a homemade cabinet 👍 I'm very happy with it. It has plenty of power and was cheap as these things go. There is a link to it in the description👌
Great news! I made this one to get the best use out of the material I had. So it was 1190mm wide and 600mm deep. The height depends on the height of the person who will be using it! Good luck 👌
I don't I'm afraid. Their size/weight does not make it economical. Etsy is full of them though so you can definitely find one there that meets your needs 👌☺️
I’m a joiner for a living and probably one of the most dangerous ways I’ve seen to use a mitre saw. But on the other hand very nice work on the build… just keep your thumb away from the saw
Thank you! ☺️ The finished size was just under 1200mm wide (so I could get best use of 2400mm long boards) by 600mm deep 👌 The long clamps I use here are Axminster Trade Heavy Duty Parallel Clamps 👍 Not cheap but highly recommend and they go on sale every so often 👌
That’s brilliant if only I had a fully loaded workshop like you...🙄😬get real.. I just wanted a guy to give me an idea on how to go about building a mud kitchen not a master class on being a joiner.
The tools make it faster and more efficient, but you don't need them to make something. Take inspiration from what I did and make it work for your situation 👍

I did, after i watched your videos. :)
What nail gun did you use? I can't see it in your kit list great videos but the way thanks Martin
@@moleyyoung It's a Titan TTB517STP (mouthful!) 18ga Brad nailer, from ScrewFix UK 👌👌
@@mikeparsonscc thank you mate gonna try and make your mud kitchen the weekend just looking what wood you used etc 👍
@@moleyyoung Very cool. Good luck 😊👌
Excellent. Well done. Shall shall try this soon.
No one asked tony
Very easy to follow. Thanks
My husband followed this video and it turned out great. Thank you! ☘️
You are very welcome! 🙂
Do you have plans for this, I would love to make it for my granddaughter.

Is there any chance you have plans/measurements for this???
No sorry, I do not. I think it was 1200mm wide but I cannot remember exactly 🙂
@@mikeparsonscc Okay thanks!
Very nice
Building this tomorrow. I have 1/100th the amount of tools you have though. Wish me luck

I find your videos really relaxing and satisfying. And creating the muddy kitchen is a lot more involved than I imagined 😶.
Thank you! I really appreciate that 😁
Great guide video finished mine today turned out amazing,I did take a different approach on some stuff but in general followed your idea. Thanks
Great news! I'm glad it was helpful 🙌
absolutely beautiful! like it a lot!
Thank you! 🙂

Very nice, a mud kitchen is on the to do list for next year. Now you just need to make some hand made utensils for them!
Great idea! Definitely adding those to the list for next year 👏👏
I was looking in your tool list and couldn't find those red corner things you used to make a corner joint. What are those called? Great job by the way.
Thank you! You're right I had forgotten to put them on the list, sorry. I have added them now. They are called Positioning Squares 👍
@@mikeparsonscc hey thanks for your reply. I started following you on Instagram.
(The Broken Skid)
Thank you! Much appreciated 😊
I just loved it ..want to make one for my daughter...how much does it cost in making it....?a rough idea please.
Good luck! ☺️ It was just over £100 in materials if I remember correctly (not including the blackboards or the kitchen utensils) 👌
Thanks for sharing! Great video and perfect mud kitchen for twins, we take that as our next project ;)

How long did this take you to build?

Yes, it goes straight on to treated wood 👍
What is the best wood for outdoor ?
Hi did you fence boards (rough sawn) and just sand them smooth ??
If I remember correctly they were treated 1x6 boards, and yes I cut them to size and sanded off the rough spots 👍
Would love to have a go at making something like this for my little ones. How much wood did you order?
Good to hear it! It was about £100 total in materials, wood included. I cannot remember the exact amounts and dimensions sorry. It is made out of 2x4 and 1x6s 👍
Mike Parsons Custom Creations thanks. Did you change it in the end then as description says 2x3, 1x4 & 1x6? Thanks
If that's what the description says that will be what I used. It seems my memory isn't as good as I thought it was 🤦♂️ I generally don't use a cut list I just get what I need as I go 👍

No worries. Sorry I couldn't be more specific 😞
Great job! Liking all your little projects, and great production. Keep it up.
Mike
Thanks! I appreciate that 😁 There is another little project coming tomorrow 👍👍
how much wood would i need to make this as ive seen the sizes of wood but how much of each size would i need
Apologies but I really cannot remember, it was quite a long time ago. When you plan it out on paper before hand it should give you a good idea of the total amount needed 👍
I'd say
13 - 1x6
6 - 2x3
5 - 1x4
All 8 feet long should do im building one today and can let you know.
Hi mate. Just wondering if u have some dimensions for ur project? Tnx
Hey! No worries. This was 1200mm wide (so I could get two boards out of 2400mm dimensional timber) and 500mm deep/tall at the work surface 👍

Do you have a cut list?
Amazing!!
Thanks!
Such an awesome mud kitchen! out of curiosity how long did it take to sand the whole thing and what grade paper did you go up to? thanks for the vid!
Thank you. I sanded up to 120 grit (it's going to live outside after all) and it only would have taken an hour or so to sand 👌
Is that pressure treated wood?
Yes
What table saw are you using mate?
It's a Bosch GTS 10 J 👍
Nice build and nice mitre saw ;)
Thank you! And I agree 😏😁
Brilliant build. Such inspiration to build one to my children and nieces. Just subscribed to your channel. 👍👍

just get 2 inch screws, that is good for construction grade material.
