By a long mile, THE best Jaguar CD game and one of the very best titles for the Jaguar. God bless Rich Whitehouse and his incredible BigPEmu for allowing all of us (myself included) to give the game a chance to play :D
Yeah Battlemorph is the bomb! I also love the music, probably my 2nd favorite after T2K. And it’s situational and changes instantly when you go underwater for example. I keep hoping it will appear on a modern Atari collection but alas…
@@GregsGameRoom that's what I forgot to mention! The music does change dynamically during gameplay. The whole time I was writing and recording I knew I was forgetting something I wanted to talk about. I really hope it comes out on something soon too...
One of my favorite open word shooters, I justified my jag cds purchase with this game. Some thing about the music was really catchy to me and unique how fast it switches when going underwater and back. I'd love a sequel on the new vcs and or vr.
I'd be all over a remake of Battlemorph on a modern console. Maybe even a sequel with excruciatingly long draw distances and realistic terrain. Battlemorph is not only my favorite Jaguar game, it also has my favorite music soundtrack of any game I own (well into the thousands of titles at this point). Synthwave before that was ever a thing, or even had a name for the genre. And it was all chiptunes, it didn't stream off CD since the music instantly changed when you'd go underwater without stuttering while a CD-ROM drive seeks the new track.
Thanks for reviewing this. Battlemorph is one of those forgotten about treasures. I hope it sees the light of day sometime in the future on an Atari compilation
I absolutely love this game my favourite Jaguar game and one of the only games I’ve ever finished and then played again. Would have loved a 3rd instalment 🕹😎👍❤
It's a shame that the Jaguar and Jaguar CD didn't last longer than it did, they probably could've been able to compete with the Sega Saturn, PS1 and N64, who knows, it might've gotten a version of need for speed, is there any chance the Jaguar could pull off that game?
Great game indeed. I thought Cybermorph wasn't that bad, but Battlemorph is actually pretty great! Much better presentation and gameplay. One of the best Jag cd games. But ehh, where did you learn to fly?
At some point you mentioned this game being released late in the Jaguar’s life cycle. Which is even more tragic since it was only around for about two and a half years.
I think songbird does an excellent job supporting the Atari consoles. Jaguar and Lynx. I prefer to buy games and gear from songbird than the atariage store.
Yeah, I really hope songbird does a cartridge release like they did for Iron Soldier 2. It looks like such a great game, and yet there really isn't a good way to play it on original hardware.

Battlemorph music is just awesome! They did really good job!

Really like the graphics on this one. Any Atarian would feel like a space pilot playing this game.

Nice review, Thanx! If you score ....99 end of each level (just shoot trees), you have those 2 extra ships every time.. Helps this long journey😀
@@harrinieminen1512 oh that an awesome tip thanks for that. Im gonna have to try it next time I play!
The voice actor is indeed great, and the game is fun! Wish the Jag would have gotten more stuff like this honestly. Nice review!
@@datassetteuser356 agreed! And thank you!
Great review from one of my favorite reviewers

Thats a really nice looking game Jon !
@@pierregareau6590 I agree. I enjoyed it quite a bit and I hope everybody who's interested finds a way to play or emulate it!
Used to play Cybermorph, fun game but this looks and sounds much better. Is there any way to emulate Jaguar CD games?
Probably the best Jag CD game in my opinion.
@@kevinstrade2752 I wouldn't argue against that!

@@derekdash2179 yeah I mean the Jaguar CD essentially came out right at the consoles death. The whole thing was tragic!
@@TheAtariNetwork Came out the same month as the Playstation…
Using a Jaguar emulator can let you play the cd games. Hopefully I’ll get around to finally trying this out

I will say I still cannot believe that Atari under Frederic Chesnais sold the rights to this game. I guess they were desperate for any money.
@@jeremiahthomas8140 I can only imagine. Atari wasn't in the best health for a long time as a company. I'm sure they did what they had to do...
I have played it a little bit, but it did not hook me as much as Cybermorph did.

Atari Jaguar CD is too expensive and unreliable.
Battlemorph is a far superior game to its predecessor. Just a shame that it requires a Jag CD to play.
