You are right on, that harmony makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. Chris Thile is a master of the mandolin, his ability to draw sounds from the instrument are nothing short of incredible, best illustrated by his solo @ 6:38.
They did, it is called American Acoustic and I had the pleasure of seeing them do this song in Raleigh, 1 August 2017. I played the role of the jerk that said "play something cool". I don't think the people in the crowd got the inference to this video.
