Switched to Orca this week. I ordered a Kobra 3 combo. Anycubic has been very good to me over the years. I’ve been using Cura for years and Orca already seems next level; especially with supports.
Same, same, and same! Just got one for $270 or something like that with two free rolls of filament. Can't beat that! Time to see if Orca will beat Cura in more ways than just multi color printing.
I switched everything over to Orca. There's no downside. It's basically Bambu Studio PLUS extra community features. I even learned how to add my older machines that do not have a specific machine profile for them, like my Ender2 Pro. Now it runs on Orca just fine. I also am using the new experimental features for extended filament retraction before cutting, along with reducing flush volumes. It really saves a significant amount of purge waste on multicolor
Ahh yes I just try to keep cutters with each machine because they have a tendency to walk off. Those dont live there all that often anymore as it makes it so you cant shut the lid but if you are just on the PLA train, it's a good place for them!
As for why I'm not using Orca - can you do a vid on the differences between the default Bambu slicer and Orca? As a Bambu user, what do I get if I switch? Thanks!
I was just now looking for this. not sure where you got your time machine, but i am glad you have it. I am using an ender 3 v3 ke to do simple multicolors but i am having trouble figuring out how to color the entire item and not just the top surface.
Haha this isnt the kind of video that gets bulk views but I think its good to cover the basics and I need the practice as a creator so I am happy to hear it met you where you are at! As for coloring the entire object, if you right click on the item you want to completely change and then select set filament color, it should let you choose from any of your mapped colors; if I am understanding your question correctly anyway
try useeing a tablet or an ipad with pen or a deticated drawing tablet for painting with a brush you can do so mutch more then with the circle and the sphere
Why is the coloring working that smooth and instant for you? I tryed it on different PCs and I always have to wait a few seconds after doing just one click. I need hours to properly color a simple model which is completly annoying. Any ideas pls?
@KeoPrints are you having any tips for complex models? I noticed it being slightly better with smaller files, but I just can't do such small sections for my projects
I haven't switched from Bambu Studio to Orca Slicer because I haven't found any features I need that are missing from Bambu Studio. The color painting is essentially the same workflow. It's a really weird feeling not just jumping ship to the next new fancy thing as is my habit. I haven't even modded my printer aside from adding desiccant boxes into the AMS! On that note... Do you have any plans for dryboxing your AMS lite? After all the work you put into the Big Boy AMS drying setup, it seems silly to just have the baby brother blowing in the wind! Minor correction - Super Slicer is based on Prusa Slicer, not the other way around. Orca -> Bambu -> Prusa Slicer -> Slic3r.
Ahh I got my slicer history off lol. Thanks for the correction As for the ams lite drybox, I’m not sure about that one. It would be quite the undertaking but I would love to hear any ideas you have if you want to hop into the discussion on the Patreon. I’ll open a new chat and see what we can come up with. Could be a cool thing!

Great to hear! I agree with you. As someone that used to use Cura exclusively; Orca is where it is at!

Good to see multi color getting some coverage by the best place for 3d printing videos
I use the sphere brush to paint "windows" with translucent filament on an otherwise opaque print
Ahh that’s an interesting application. I wouldn’t have thought of that but totally makes sense
Love this video. Learnt a thing or two!
Legend!
by selecting an object and pressing the numbers 1-9 you can quickly change the whole models material/color
This is a great tip! I had no idea
is there a video for a single color printer with multiColor Printing, on Orca, seems to be causing conflicts in the GCode. Thanks!

I plan to look into the experimental stuff for filament retraction as well! Should make a huge difference
Now hear this, if you keep up the good work this channel is going to fly, remember who said it ;)
I’ll allow this comment. I accept

0:35 cutters stuffed in the front of the AMS? Is this some life changing mod that we should know about or just a handy place to leave them?!

This is also a good idea. I'll have to add it to the list!

@@KeoPrints hey thanks, I'll try it out.

I have no idea. Aside from complex models, I don’t have any lagging issues and I’m using a fairly basic MacBook Air
