Smooth landing, but WOW, he seems to move the yoke around a lot during the last few minutes. Amazing to see how much the plane actually flies itself for much of the final approach.
Its a heavier plane, he’s doing small corrections to the glide slope for that smooth landing, and yes a lot of yoke movement but if you look closely he doesnt keep the yoke in the turning positions for more than a few mili seconds, he needs quick and fast and perfect corrections 👌
Somewhere around 2:00 -3:00, they flew over my childhood home in Farmingdale, NY. I grew up watching planes fly by every day on this approach. Never got to see what this approach looked like from the air until this video. Thanks!
The thing I like about your videos is that you take the edit all the way to the gate. Very few other pilot videos do that, and if they do they usually cut pretty much everything on the taxi and just show the runway then gate. The taxi is just as interesting, and it's a lot more satisfying ending at the gate than on the rollout. Feels like the flight is really completed :)

I could totally do this.....even over the passengers screaming. Nonetheless, these videos are awesome. I appreciate it. Yet, it just boggles my mind. You're flying a giant bus in the sky like it's nothing. Do you ever just take a moment and say "I'm awesome."? I'd wear a giant sign 24/7.

Check 7:16, Plane is coming to touchdown little to fast, check Captain Hands :)) But FO corrected just great exactly before touch and made a smooth landing. But Captain Hands.....just nice to notice how people react :)) It's just like when you are a driver, but you are sitting on passenger seat and your friend is the driver and driving fast, so every time you push with your leg, looking for brake :)))

Very cool!! I recognize the streets of my neighborhood off to the right on final and the infamous "Snake Road" through the wetlands just before touchdown. Cool to see from this view.
Lucky to be landing at JFK rather than LGA. One wrong move there and you're in Long Island Sound, on Rikers Island, or in the middle of the Grand Central Parkway. Not typically places you want to be in any scenario.
Excellent and fantastic job to All’s the Pilots 👏👏👏All’s the Pilots is a hero 🦸♂️ 🦸♀️. All’s those buttons look very confusing to me and I enjoy very much 😀😀😀
Any commercial pilots here that can answer this, is that normal for the yoke to move around that much? I had it pictured differently that the yoke would have been a much smoother and less chaotic movement due to hydraulic controls.
It depends on the speed the airplane is flying. During takeoff and landings the speed is lower than the cruise phase and the control surfaces have lower aerodynamic effect, consequently the pilot must apply much more control in order to have the airplane moving around it's axis! This is not only with big aircraft this is an aerodynamic principal and it happens to all airplanes, regardless the size!
@@henriquef.ferreira1316 thanks for the reply, I agree on the principal of your statement but in the clip the pilot at first glance looks like he was having a seizure. The amount of play was evident on each time he was turning left, I couldn't see the peddles control, you can see there really was no movement of the plane unless he actually held that left position longer than 3-4 secs, and that alone was too long of a reaction. It just amazed me on the frantic nature he was displaying, the play that was involved, and my own experience with equipment that was hydraulic control. I truly believe that therapy is required after each landing. Having to do pre- flight testing on F4's, F-15, A-10's I would have ground the bird if it had that much play. I believe those commercials are fly by wire in which the inputs are sent to a computer that then actuates the hydraulics to move the ailerons/rudder, etc. Thanks for the answer.
@@jamesryks3804 I totally agree with you, when you state that he is playing what's it seems to be more than necessary, after looking it again I would say that he was a little bit nervous, maybe new on the airplane or he is one of those pilots who really fight with the aircraft during lands, it's not common but I've seen captains doing worse than that, today I'm a FO in Brazil and once the captain applied full roll command at the exact moment of the flare and the control wheel touched my knee! And the touch down wasn't Thad good after all! Just a little cross wind reported by the tower and we will see a lot of Chuck Norris flying kkkkkk.

Who was steering at the high speed turnoff? Does the copilot have a tiller?
You steer the nose with the rudder pedals.
Jake Kitzmiller they normally use a tiller
When they are on the ground they steer with the tiller. In the air they use the rudder.
Danny Williamson both pilots have access to a tiller.
