What about the id on the 900, does that help identify hammered coins as 800 id, hammered come in a lot of the time at 14/15 but so does small bits of aluminium?
Could you do a ground test on the same things and see if there’s a difference Sid. I wonder what the Manticore will be like tested against these two detectors.
I know this is an older video, and I understand you are in the UK and deal with loads of coke. But on the Equinox 800 extremely small gold comes in as low and 1 and even -1. I found a thin braclet at -1 once. So if you have those number discriminated out, thats why you were missing tiny gold on the 800.
That's the point of video, on 800 you get 1 for coke and 1 for small gold, on 900 1 is coke and 2 is small gold so its a little easier to not miss the small gold and still remove coke
800 is easier to run for sure… the extra power and more open limits makes it a little trickier than 800 but in my opinion its worth the work as better results

I'm not upgrading to the 900 just to pay another £1000+ for something that is not much better if at all to the 800 I bet with a little tweet the 800 will do the same putting it in field 2 or in gold mode and I think the battery life on the 800 will last longer than the 900 all the best 2023 👍👍
Exactly, what the chances of getting something good sitting exactly behing a iron nail for example. As for the old gold, just select single frequencies, you can soon tell if it's coke or not on a signal 1. Not worth the money to upgrade if you own a nox already, if buying new or coming from another machine then go for it :)

I had my nox on market place I listed the lot. 4 coils everything soon as I new it wasn’t wireless the 900 and manticore I pulled my sale ! I just told people changed my mind. That means I can now spend that money on a new synth. ;) I have no problem with the build quality of the 800 And still have the ctx. I am not as serious as to wanting to find a toenail gold peace of mettle in a haystack of coke down here we don’t have much of that. I personally can’t justify a downgrade of using the provided headphones ! Going by the 800 they didn’t last four weeks. I didn’t even bother claiming warranty on them. Just got some August Headphones. I am more than happy with the 800 as I can apply any headphones good quality headphones you can listen better anyways. That’s just what I think it dose not count for anything as I am not a serious detectirist

Nice going Sid. Happened to watch the same video of the Scottish bloke and then he sandwiched the coin between the coke and the iron and boom, the coin is still there. Does have that edge on separation. Can tell you it does find gold nicely too. You might see. Hopefully I get my manticore this week then the gloves are off. Everything old will be new again. Nice video! Do a Monte's nail board test. I did it with FP on both MDs without any settings changed results are quite interesting... Try to hit coin on 2nd position with Your preferred (usable on the field) settings

OK the 900 is pick up one behind the other . The Makro kruzer could do that. and that was years ago don't seem like they are giving us all thay know in one machine.
Do people genuinely discriminate 1 on the 800..? I'm sure your Ancient Settings don't(?) They give 1 as a positive signal..I've had countless cut quarters and fragments ring in at VDI1/2; equally I very rarely dig up any coke..
Even if there is an hardware difference between the 900 and 800, it wouldn't hurt them raising the target ID to 99 on the 800, that wouldn't be a problem... but the 800 like the CTX will be forgotten about now.. that's why I stick with XP, at least they support they machines for 10 years Plus.
I know the deus ii update v1 has just been released so that may now be awesome… i havnt used it yet so hard to vouch for it… the 900 is a cracking machine and so should the deus ii be now 🤞🤞🤞… cant go wrong with either but i am hoping d2 will be slightly better now
Re the test with that tiny bit of gold. I have suspected that the 800 is a tad better than my old (original) Deus that I have used for years. I was very interested to see the comparisons between the 800 and the 900, that is enough to put me onto a 900 because I know there might be one or two more Saxon gold Thrymsas in a field that seem to be missing nowadays! So, I'm sure you are as keen as I am to make the same comparison soon between the 900 and the manticore. I am wondering if the manticore will also do a better job on that small gold than the 800? Hope you can get your hands on a manticore soon mate!
Good video Sid. Have you played around with the dp Delta Pitch audio that the 900 offers on the General modes. That may well be another game changer for a lot of scenarios.
I have only been testing it in air… but now were in the new year and xmas out the way im gonna start getting back out putting it through its paces 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Sid, thank you very much for the informative video. I was lucky enough to recently win a Nox 800 at a raffle and have been contemplating whether it is worth trying to sell it and get the 900. I'm not sure how much I'd get for it (it is unused), but I'd probably have to pay approx 300 quid on top for the 900 eitherway. This would be an upgrade from my Simplex+ which is a great machine in itself. I'm leaning towards holding onto the 800 as I've heard how good a machine it is. Curious to know what you would do? Cheers mate and hope to meet you at Detectival in April if you're attending.
If you can get a good price for 800 and only have to pay a bit towards the 900 id go 900… because with the 800 your probably want to pay for the carbon stem, £130 coil saver £30, you also get a 6inch coil with 900 £180 so theres just over £300 itll work out the same price in the end… 👍🏼👍🏼

That table not the best for racking coke up on Sid 🥴 carnt beat some benchmarks tests. Try the coin behind the nail with the legend , that would be a nice comparison. Tip top vid 🧑🦯👌🏻
I had the daus 1 hated it but those who know how to use the daus 2 that machine has some updates that will keep it strong in the competition. Personally I will keep the 800 and ctx for now

The Vanquish 340 in Jewellery Mode can ignor coke and give small gold a TID of 1. I have the Nox 600 800 900 but the Vanquish keeps up no worries....

I have it open on my settings with the 800 but a vast majority eliminated 1/2
