Just wanted to put this out there for anyone watching these M15 video’s and thinking “its a lot of money and maybe for not much gain”. Based on his video's i took the plunge and ordered one. I was quite sceptical at first after experiencing the Equinox big coil and didn’t think it would deliver. The acid test for me was on seriously done to death frozen pasture. Within a few minuets i sensed something different about this coil and true to Sid’s word its performed really well and…. even with a few small finds thrown in. The extra weight was fine for me and It was really difficult conditions out there today bouncing the spade off frozen ground but ive had x5 more finds than i would of done, on small areas that's been worked hard for the past two years. Looking forward to better conditions. Great channel Cheers Sid

i tend to only use my 15'' on my equinox 800, find it helps covering the ground quicker, never really found i miss any small deep targets and if the ground is noisy/mineralised i just switch to single frequency

I use thew big one cne on the bottom of the swim area when I'm snorkeling in real calm tropical waters here, really can cover the big area at low tide
My jungle stone and root work will stay small till I get it tall cleaned out due to it being small concentrated areas
    Thanks for the info👍🏼

My 18" struggled to pick a rusty saw on the surface up but picked smaller deeper objects up well but it was almost like it was overloading the processor and just making it blip

A rusty saw is iron, I'd would of been trying to reject it

@englandshistory that's a relief then as I was stumped knowing I'd been finding smaller stuff just before it

Sid, great laid back video. Like all those vids and look forward to more this year. Travelling to RCM later in the year and will get tickets as soon as available for a few of us for this well organised event. You do a great job of presenting this great hobby, drive on. Ed

Really interesting video relating to the manticore but will you be reviewing the 18" coiltec nox coil anytime soon.
I have the 8,11 and 15 for my nox 900 and was interested to see if see your thoughts on the 18 maybe for detecting when the grass is long or tall stubble which otherwise would make a permission undetectable.

I have been using the 15 inch coiltek on the nox. Noticed i found more copper pennies and half pennies. Will i be missing any hammereds having a large coil Sid?

Very informative I love the different coils but I should try the 11” again seem to be using 8” and 15” mainly.
15 seems a lot better coverage at beach’s maybe they are cleaner.
    Cheers

Would the same logic apply on the xterra pro? I've been struggling on a noisy permission with lots of iron and mineralisation using the stock 12" coil. Would switching g to the V8x coil help? Thanks!

    • @englandshistory
      @englandshistory  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@jakeeadon2712 yes, the smaller the coil the easier it is to get in amongst targets and separate the ones you desire

I have the CoilTek 15 inch to my Equinox 900 and it’s a really great coil that I would recommend instead off the 15 inch to Minelab, that is more elliptical in shape than the coiltek coil. CoilTek 15 inch gets a bit more depth and it’s amazing how good it can pick up tiny pieces in great depth with pretty low sensitivity and running 6-7 in recovery speed. The big elliptical coil from CoilTek is a pain to use, way to nose heavy and it feels like a dumb investment and I regret buying that one instead of the small elliptical CoilTek coil.😊

It using the 15-in coil on equinox 800 on the beach finding a lot of gold it covers 40% more ground than the 11 inch

@englandshistory Got one, a few came into stock today. Do you think the 15inch will be good on a new permission then get an 8inch after it's been done to death? That's obviously if there's anything there in the first place lol. Thanks for your videos and replies 👍🏻👍🏻

What do you make of the 14x9? I know its heavy bj i have a harness and was wondering if it would be the best happy medium between the 11" and the 18" as ive heard it has better pin pointing than other bigger coils but i was wondering how it did depth wise

trying to find the weight on the 15" coil, had a serious car crash in July and broke my back the pain is never going away and just got to crack on with life iv just started detecting again and only using the m8 coil and carrying a folding stool as I can only walk about 150M then have to sit for about 15mins till the pain eases off and then repeat, so I'm wondering is the weight difference between the m8 and the m15 or is it just to heavy to handle an I'm just day dreaming of swinging a big coil again
