I really appreciate this video. Thank you for sharing your journey to authenticity. I undertook a similar one this year. Finally! Lol.
My clients definitely responded to it and it made my work more enjoyable bringing more of myself into it.

Hi Dr. Fang! I just wanted to thank you so much for your content. I am currently a third year clinical psychology doctoral student and thoroughly appreciate your willingness to share your wisdom in this way. I will most definitely be consulting your material on an ongoing basis as I continue towards a possible future in private practice. Keep doing great work. It really makes all the difference :)

Interesting content Dr. Fang! I’ve been curious how a Christian therapist would be received by the LGBT community and secular folks in general. All of the LPC programs I’m looking into are from religious schools and this exact thing has been on my mind. Your approach is refreshing and seems like it would work well in my region as well. Kudos to you for being super authentic! especially with your sick baby cooing in the background ☺️ your motivation to put out videos is appreciated 🙌🏻

I definitely hear you! The moment that tipped me over to be more open about it was realizing that my clients often deal with exactly that: not feeling totally welcome in either church communities or LGBT communities. It’s hard to find spaces with that bridge!

It makes me sad to see a person call themselves a Christian and not follow what the Bible says a Christian is. It just makes no logical biblical sense to what you support. For example:
Romans 1:26-28 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. 28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.
    And
Mark 8:34-35 34 And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 35 For whoever would save his life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it.
Yes, those pastors that don’t refer to you any more are wiser than you are in this area.
If you want to educate yourself on this subject check out Dr. Michel Brown. He is a biblical Christian and has written many books and articles on this subject.
