Select dia in a way that Provided area of steel comes near to required area. (to make section economical) 2. it is beneficial to use large number of small diameter bars (distributed uniformly in one or more layers) rather than small number of large diameter bars to have efficient control on cracks. Important Point here is that these things will come with experience when you start working with real projects.
Can we provide over reinforced section in wsm. I m asking this Because in many of the problems MOR is calculated using actual depth of NA which is greater than critical depth of NA
