What a fantastic way of doing Hexagons without a template, l shall definitely be having a go , thank you so much for your inspiration ❤️all your sewing .
Thrilled to see you use a featherweight! I love my featherweight! I have a $7000 Bernina yet find that featherweight from grandma is my go to. Thanks for the hexie trick!
There are some blocks I just wouldn't try but you have the loveliest style and I have warmed to many quilt designs now, including this, you have made it easy enough for me to try and it looks great. Many thanks 🌟
I am subscribing. Your videos are calm just why I enjoy sewing/quilting. You have a beautiful channel, you are clear in what you show with soft speech and music, and I think you do beautiful projects. I will soon be making your flag square into a pillow maybe but most likely as a runner.
Thank you so much for showing how to do this with a regular ruler. I just don't want anymore special rulers! Nice video. Happy to have found this today to get on with making a quilt like this.
Just want you to know, I just discovered your channel and once I discovered it, I just played it all straight through. I love your style, your approach to quilting snd of course your music choice!!! Your channel is really helping me get through a difficult time. Thank you so very much.
Great quilt. I am currently trying to use my fingers to strengthen them by hand stitching hexagons by hand, using 1” hexagon templates. I love this king of sewing almost as much as machine work.
Thank you, this is the only way I would ever tackle hexagons, it’s brilliant! How you determined the 60 degree angle to draw the line on your ruler is a mystery to me though😄
@@bethshibleyquilts well you cut your strips at a different measurement wide so I'm wondering if I use a different width on my strips does it change how wide the top of the hexie should be cut? I'm thinking so or the shape will be off. Does that help? What I meant is your strips are 2 3/4 wide and you said to move over 3 inches for the top of the hexie and cut again. If you use 2 1/2 inch wide strips would you still move over 3" or a different measurement.
Hi Beth would never have made a hexagon befor seeing this. Would love to make a lap quilt but was wondering did you finish your daughters quilt with the applique
@@bethshibleyquilts Six weeks ago I never would’ve noticed it but that’s about the time I discovered Featherweights and now I recognize them anywhere! I’m not sure time I have acquired three! And now I’m searching for a white one.
The music and volume are not correct at the beginning of this video. Sorry about that!
Thanks Beth❤

I have a ton of Jelly roll strips at 2.5 inches will this pattern work for my strips. Great video and so happy I found your channel.
Ofcourse you can. Have fun with it!

If you can draw or get ahold of an equilateral triangle... that has the 60degree angle you need😉
Hey Beth, if i use 2 1/2" wide strips will the measurements be the same...meaning the 3" across the top?
I am not sure...having a hard time understanding the question.

Yes I did finish.
Hi I like ur tutorial video, very clear may I know what kind of cotton fabric to use to.make sure there is no fading & shrinkage
If you are purchasing fabric you can choose quilters cotton. Cotton does shrink a bit so if you’re concerned you can prewash.
dies this make a 5" hexagon block?
Yes👌
Is that a Singer Featherweight??
Yes

Why not just cut one hexagon and sew them together
