Just wanted to add that i liked the kill team selection part at the end. I really like to see what operatives people think are best and why. Especially from someone like you who has a lot of experience playing the game at a high level.
So if you wait until TP 3 to start fighting, you are taking on a very fair Kill Team. It does put a lot of pressure on you to execute in those two turns. Increases the opportunities for RNG to mess with you, an interesting dichotomy.
@@CanYouRollaCrit and man…. Thank you for all of this. Its incredible and we see your hard work. I just hope you stay with kill team forever :D Btw your sentry impresion make me laught :D
@@bosik111 its push to fit even but still hotshot looks best AND it kinda can look like flamer and granade launcher too so in friendly games Im all set :D
Worth noting that if you build all of the operatives, you're forced into taking the leader with bolt pistol and chainsword as the las pistol is used on the gunfighter. For the plasma I just shaved off the other hand and stuck it to a random leftover rifle arm and used an open arm on the other side from the scions box
@@leperunclean means you don't get the bolt pistol then, I ended up magnetising the leader and giving a Scion las pistol to the precursor with a few modifications
I’m surprised you haven’t mentioned that you can somewhat stall out teams with your space operatives, so you can have the ones on the ground hide a little longer
Hey, nice rundown. I have a question though, because I wondered why there are three Drop And Secure tokens in the box - then I thought it's because there are three mission markers now - but you can't use a strategy ploy more than once per turning point - then I read the Drop And Secure text again and indeed there is no mention of it disappearing at the end of the turn. Is that so?
It wad black then drybrushed pro acryl blue black, light blue black, metals were gold, silver, bronze, then everything washed with thinned ratling grime and metallics drybrushed with silver (:
How have you found the sentry in practice does hitting on 4s not make it unreliable and if it shoots twice it’s not moving so may as well be a marksman?
It doesnt specify how to split the 10 models into thirds (e.g. rounding down until the last third)? so I could deploy with 4 and the other 6 are set up above
Were you able to build the leader with the laspistol and the gunfighter with 2 las pistols? Watched another unboxing and they said they share a part for one of the pistols, and I did look up the instructions online and it does say to use the same part (A10) but it might be they just messed up the instructions and there is another laspistol to use?
@@CanYouRollaCrit as a beginner ia the price worth it? Considering things like rules will be available online and terrain i can scrap together? Trying to figure out if this box will help me get into the hobby or overwhelm me lol
@@cm16533To be honest out of all killteam launch boxes and killteam boxes in general. This one is insanely beginner friendly. Fairly simple, cool and flavorful Killteams. Insanely cool terrain/rules for terrain. All of the markers and equipment tools that make playing killteam a lot more convenient and less overwhelming. And the board tbh is sick as well. Comparing that to the launch box of 2nd edition “octarius” which had a lot of the pros of this box. But both Killteams had a TON of shit to remember and in my opinion were not beginner friendly. As well with the terrain being a lot more open and less flexible overall. Quite literally being junk piles that you could’ve definitely made yourself. @cm16533 I started with octarius, have this one and honestly - this one is better for the new player. It has build-in rules for coop and solo play, it is good way to learn the basics imho.
In the designer's note, it says that "The marksman is a sniper that can land on vantage terrain..." Do you think this was meant to be included in the rules?
@CanYouRollaCrit I believe that. still makes me sad because they share the same spot as a melta in a lot of teams and I feel like it is going to very rarely be the pick.
my priority for selection was for the 40k game over kill team so all carbines besides 2 with one plasma and the other long las, also the servitor with grenades launcher. probably not optimal for kill team but hey it will not last much anyways compared to the main game

Ah thanks that's great to hear! Glad it's helping!
Wait!…. He actually plays the game??? I just thought he made videos! Dude must be stupid busy.
Agreed being able to see what models and equipment a squad can take makes organizing them much easier

Yeah but from TP3 the Aquilons lose most of their tricks so it's not too hard
Hot-shot volley looks coolest on sentry so I use it for model and count it as granade launcher :D
Yeah that's fair (:

To be fair sentry looks like it would be super easy to magnetize so you don't need to limit yourself to one choice

I just used pointing arm
I took the barrel and magazine from an extra lascarbine and then trimmed those parts off the bolt pistol. At tabletop distance it looks pretty solid.

you know was just thinking, as much as i love the scions, i wish these guys were the Elysian drop troops

Oh I thought I did aha

Yeah it looks like there used to be 3 drop markers
Would love to know how you painted these? Good grimdark style!

What set of arm numbers on the instruction booklet did you use to kitbash the second gunner?
Ah I can't remember sadly, I just used whatever I had left over as I built him last 😅
I recommend to try model 10. It almost perfectly fits, with a little bending.
How have you found the sentry in practice does hitting on 4s not make it unreliable and if it shoots twice it’s not moving so may as well be a marksman?
I think it's still pretty dependable due to double firing
Is it possible (according to rules) to land with tempestus operative on the vantage point? Or it always has to be the ground?
You can land on vantage
It doesnt specify how to split the 10 models into thirds (e.g. rounding down until the last third)? so I could deploy with 4 and the other 6 are set up above
Approved Ops does
I might be missing something but why does the Melta bomb on the Grenadier do less damage on a crit?
It technically does more due to devstating damage

You have a spare pistol to use so it's not an issue but I used pointing arm
Is there a way to get the info book or can you only get it with the pack?
I think it'll be available for purchase later, otherwise there's ebay
Is this box good for beginners? Never played a tabletop before but interested
Yeah they are (:

So theoretically, say you were only taking 1 gunner for *reasons*, which would you take?
Melta but I'd take both. Never take the sniper tho
Does the sentry just take hits in a fight since it has no melee?
Yup
In the designer's note, it says that "The marksman is a sniper that can land on vantage terrain..."
Do you think this was meant to be included in the rules?
Yeah, it can via dropping in
Can you please explain more that obscure rule when they drop? Its obscure for next enemy activation, or their activation or? Im kinda lost :D
Next enemy activation (:
I was really hoping they’d make flamers a viable option but alas. No one will use them.
They're viable on some teams, more than before

Kommandos for sure

the gunfighter can shoot twice ?
No but can with Salvo mode

The sentry is great
