The One Feature EVERY Light NEEDS (Molus B Series vs G300)

  • So many studio video lights to chose from these days. What makes them stand out? Well, I won't accept a light that doesn't have this feature. For me, it's not all about how many watts you have, or how color accurate your LED lights are. It's all about usability. Best youtube key light? We review the new Zhiyun B Series. B100 being the cheapest and smallest vs the Molus G300 which is super overkill for youtube studio but the much better light.

Zhiyun sent me these lights for free, and #sponsored the video.

These lights are fun, but why do they have a fan on the remote? Am I missing something here?

What happens when you connect the USB-C port on these lights to a PC? Is it possible to use a computer as a wired remote control? If so, there could be opportunities for automation such as creating scenes and possibly even have the lights come up automatically when you start your recording or capture software.
If you're familiar with Linux, there are built-in features to see how a device responds to being queried. It may then be possible to use this information to try sending data to the light and create a driver for it. It could be fun and open up a whole new area of hacking lights and other equipment.
Thanks for another great and inspiring video!

Maybe it's the lights. But the skin around your eyes looks yellow, while the rest of your face is red. Like you don't have enough complexes about your skin. Sorry. I'm looking into a small light for my living room in the event I do an in-studio video. So, this is a well-timed video.

What no ring light, every TH-cam, TikTok celebrity use one. It gives your eyes those alien looking circles. Where is the LED coloured strip lights in the background? Imagine all the radioactivity and magnetic waves in that room! incandescent light bulb in a lamp on the desk is the best none of this voodoo LED lights...

The incandescents also have EMF, sometimes a lot more. The fl;ourescent are the worst ones though.

Nobody talks about the amount of light you need when you film scale model 1:64 or 1:72 in slowmotion.
You need 500W for the highest fstop….. a usecase few people mention 😉

I've noticed that you are concerned about wireless radiation so you should also be wary of wires. You should realize that electrical power flows through electric fields, not inside the wires. Wires, to a degree, function like antennae. It is why certain types of cables and all electronic devices have to have shielding. Obviously wires are not optimized as antennae but never the less if they are touching you then their electric field is touching you. BTW this doesn't worry me at all but I want you to be able to find peace of mind, seriously.

I'm not paranoid about wires, I don't touch them. It's better than wireless.

In my experience, you really have to take the lens into account when giving such recommendations. My Batis 40/2 looks significantly cooler than my FE 35/1.8 with the same fixed white balance, for example.

I'll be happy ig I can find talking head video that gives me a cinema noire gritty and real look. And still give me a glow of health so people don't abandon my health channel in droves. Pretty reasonable expectations IMO.

Lanterns are used a lot on movie sets and commercial shoots. The reason someone would use a softbox instead is that you can control the lighting more. In your case, I think the footage looks better when you have a lot of fill lights. The lantern and tube would be the right choice for you, as you no doubt feel yourself.

Maybe 3500K for that face experiment 🥼
But what's that bitrate you use? Still some minor shiftiness on your face.
Ok just let me say it.. there should be no discernable artefacts on your vid at 360p resolution viewing TH-cam on a smartphone. Then you know you got your master file right before uploading.
