Having grown up in this era I can't listen to the radio these days, so my digital library is loaded with these old classics.
Me too,and I only use digital radio,I still use records & tapes!! There are still qood radio stations like Capital Gold and Boom out there who play the Sweet too.

Sweet is without question the most underrated band of the 1970’s. They really just had one great album, “Desolation Boulevard” but it’s one of the best albums of that decade. 👍

They may have sold 35 million records brother, but compared to there contemporaries (The Who, Queen, Bowie, Led Zeppelin etc)
They are considered just a foot note in that era by Rock historians.
They are considered one of the great “forgotten” bands of that era. I would say that makes them “underrated”

Fox on the Run was on Side B of another 45 I bought in 1975. I was blown away!!! I loved the song. I did not know what the group "Sweet" looked like, however, Brian was FOXY AND adorable!!!! They all are actually!!!
Brian Connolly was just a major talent.....He was unique....I would say he is one of the most interesting and intense lead singers in rock history....I would put him up there with Jaggar and even Elvis as far as being a sweet, natural talent....Connolly was a down to earth dude with a sad past, but despite it all, he was just a tower of energy, charisma and power.
We love Brian!

A work collegue of mine befriended Brian in Brians local towards the end of his life and would spend hours chatting and drinking....a smashing guy with tales to tell R.I.P.
I have listened to this song a zillion times over and ...I still never get tired of it! I had a serious crush on these guys in those days. Brian Connolly(lead singer) and Steve Priest(bass)were my faves lol. Mick Tucker was an exceptional drummer. Glamrock kings!😍

Mick is one of the first drummers that when I was a kid he made me want to play drums ALL the time...still a drummer at 53.
Yet you can't find him on any list of "Greatest Rock Drummers." What crying shame he never got the recognition he deserved.
I swear Mick is so fantastic he makes ME want to drum, and I'm 58 and never even done it before! He's that good and a huge influence.

i was 10 , my friend's brother had this album , he was older. in the "hells angel's. when he was gone for a few days we would sneek into his apartment and listen to this album.and put it back like it never happened. good he didnt find out. we thought we might get KILLED if he did. it was worth it;) still love these guy's at 58 !!!!!!
Listening to music all my life here in Canada we never really heard much from Sweet except for the big hits like Ballroom Blitz snd Fox on the run but I’ve been listening to the other songs lately and am realizing that the talent and great songs I never knew existed....
Blockbuster and No you don’t we’re huge hits in Europe along with some of the disco style songs in Oxygen.
I’m happy that I had the chance to discover the other side of Sweet and really appreciate the songs that I never knew existed.

I grew up in Canada too, and Sweet were really quite big here between 1975-78, but actually I first heard them a bit earlier in 1973 with “Little Willy” and “Wig Wam Bam”. In Europe, they were apparently very popular.
This band had truly the most amazing singing by each member. Gold standard on vocals.
They were one of the most popular bands when I was a teenage. They gave me a rebellious outlet. Great band!
And Slade, there was a rivalry between their fans.

This was a friend of mine favorite song. He was older and influenced us all with his good taste. He died young. Every time I hear this song I think of him when he was so alive so strong so able to take on the world. The '70s were a beautiful time for music and the band sweet was a great representative of that time.
1975 showed up when I watched Black Phone I was in the 5th grade jammed to this as a kid on A.M Radio...

It has been almost 20 years since Brian Connolly's death. I want to pay a tribute here and say I loved him in this band. I was born in the 70's and grew up listening to this band. Brian you were an Angel here on Earth and now you are an Angel in Heaven.
