  • A wild camping trip!
We buy more wild camping equipment at the Ultralight Outdoor Gear showroom, then take off into the North Pennines AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) to find a wild camping spot.
I show you the new gear as we use it.
I also discuss my decision not to return to walk the Camino de Santiago again this year, at: 24:05
To skip this section about the Camino, etc, go to: 40:00
You'll find that I've now got a drone: the DJI Mini 3 Pro. I break my 'natural ambient sounds' rule for the first time because of this: in the sky, there's little music except the wind, and wind isn't the nicest of soundtracks! Plus, I do love music, in the right place.
    I hope you'll enjoy watching!

I read recently that dogs sweat through their paws, so that could be why she wanted to cool them down?

Yes, I think so. She’d go to lengths to avoid a full swim but this clearly worked for her. Thanks for commenting!

Enjoyed this video! I’m quite familiar with the area and wondering how you’ve managed to find it.

A combination of factors! I looked for an open access area that was an easy drive from Ultralight Outdoor Gear. We originally hoped to go further north to Kielder Forest for the dark skies, because of the Perseids, (despite the near full moon!) but it was too far, and this area seemed likely to be away from much light pollution. I looked in OS maps for a place where the road crossed a river or stream, with footpaths along the water and some flat areas with possible tree cover. Google streetview seemed to confirm this place as a possibility. I had a few more pins in the map further along too!
