Thank you, sir. Just pulled the radiator in mine with minimal difficulty. It was a used car bought for my Mom, then bought it off her for my son who drove it during high school and then through college (he graduated last year). Cracked at the bracket right next to the upper hose.
Wow, I have exact same car exact same mileage, exact same problem. This video is great! I feel more confident in tackling the repair myself. Thanks, Foothills!
yeah funny how all of our radiators are going bad at the same time. I have 320,000 miles but its been leaking for a good while! it's just here in last month or two gotten really bad but w/ the holidays and stuff i didn't have the money to get it fixed. now thanks to this video i'm just gonna do it myself! ordered one from ebay and paid less than half what they wanted for one at ANY of the parts stores around here! They must be making a killing!!!! thank you @Foothills Trail Hiker
You have saved us a ton of money by fixing and maintaining our vehicles. Thanks for being proactive. Not a fan of breaking down on the side of the road.
Hey sir, I have a 1999 Avalon. Also I live just across the border from y’all up here in NC. I’ve never been much of a car mechanic but so far I’ve replaced the front struts on this car, it needs rear struts next.
Hi thank you for this video. I have the exact same vehicle and I'm looking for a video on how to replace the thermostat, are you planning on doing one like that anytime soon?
thank you so much for this video , very helpful im having same exact problem the plastic is cracked on top did with the water weld glue and it didnt work the glue is only commercial now ill do it my self watching your video , thanks a lot man
I did the same on my 01 avalon & somehow my radiator cooler fits tat i transfered from the old radiator started leaking. This is probably a dumb question but are they supposd to be screwed all the way down to the bolt.? i tighten both as hard as i could and they still leaked.
I found it on Amazon... www.amazon.com/Radiator-Toyota-1994-1999-Avalon-DWRD1079/dp/B07XKZMT8V/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=3H55DKOL6641G&dchild=1&keywords=1999+toyota+avalon+radiator&qid=1614518567&replacementKeywords=radiator&sprefix=radiator+1999+ava%2Caps%2C172&sr=8-1-spons&vehicle=1999-76-1010------------&vehicleName=1999+Toyota+Avalon&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFCODFSUVZPTllLRzQmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA5ODc3ODM2ODk1UEtRWTBJVEYmZW5jcnlwdGVkQWRJZD1BMDE5OTc4ODJFOU1SUUVQNjRUREomd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl
Did you use your old fans and hoses? I was thinking of replacing my hoses but I’m afraid a new Chinese hose would be lower quality than my original Toyota ones. Thanks
Wow! My mechanic wanted $400!!! I am gonna tackle this myself! Thank you for showing us how to do this! 😁
Thank you for this great video! Pulling the thing out with the fans attached really made the job a lot easier.
Thanks for the help. Very easy to follow along. My dad and I replaced my radiator in an hour without a $300 mechanic charge!
Very good! Thanks for watching and commenting

I did not realize it was that simple fro replace the radiator! I will have to keep that in mind the next time one breaks. Thanks for sharing that!
It was pretty easy to repair, thankfully. Replacing the waterpump is tough on this car. Hopefully i wont have to do it again!
Thanks for fixing my ride old man!
Zyklon B??? Sounds like something the people next door would think of.
Very nice! I have a 1995 SE V6 3.0L. Very similar. Going to do my job over Thanksgiving!

Where is the leak? I'm not sure what you are asking me.
@@foothillstrailhiker2426 the transmission cooler components. both of them started to leak when i started my car
Well done!
thank you so much for this video!!
Where did you order that specific radiator assembly from?
you didn't show us how you bled the radiator.
This is vary important if you not bled out the air. The engine will be heat back on.
Thank you ..Thank you ...Thank you!!!!!!!!!
You are very welcome!
I was hoping you would show all the connections, both types: wires & hoses - including the fans, and how they were all supposed to be hooked up.
Where did you buy the radiator for this fix? eBay?

Did you reuse the fans from the old radiator or the new one came with fans? Thanks
I reused the fans. Only the radiator came in the box.
Thank you so much for your quick reply. Final question if you don't mind. Do you loose a lot of transmission fluid on this job?
@@fredecellario no, less than a quart.
@@foothillstrailhiker2426 Thank you again. Great video, easy to follow. I will tackle it tomorrow. Take care.
@@fredecellario good luck, it's an easy repair
